FOTD - Coral Crepe

Whadduppppp???? I should be sleeping now as I have to wake up in 6 hours but I am pretty energetic thanks to the 45 minutes nap I had after work today. Hence, sharing more love on Through Beauty Eyes. :)

Hope you guys had a great start to the week!!!

Mine was a pretty shitty one - major train delay (I shouldn't really be complaining when the cause is due to fatality @ Granville station), SARDINE-PACKED train ( I am not sure about you guys but I get extremely gross out when I have body contact with randoms on a packed train. Being a brat or claustrophobic? I don't know), crap day at work (well, what's new?).... At least the day ended pretty well, with a couple of Big Bang Theory to cheer me up!

Digression, much?

This is just gonna be a quick post, featuring 2 VERY similar looks I created with my new beloved MAC Coral Crepe Paint Pot from the Prep-A-Papier range. :D For both looks,I used SportsGirl's Shade Lady Eye Colour in Tiny Dancer (a gorgeours peachy colour with tiny shimmer bits in it:D) over Mac Coral Crepe Paint Pot.

Absolutely one of my May favourites, which hopefully will be up tomorrow :D

CORAL CREPE FOTD #1

I am using ELF Single Eyeshadow in Rasberry Truffles on the outer crease area and Prestige Single Eyeshadow in Suede for the browbone area.

I used Rimmel's Blush in Pink Blush and Rimmel's Nude Delight over Lucas Papaw Oinment here.

CORAL CREPE FOTD #2

And for this look, I used a copper-brown colour from my 88 warm colour palette for the crease (though they both look the same)and Loreal Intense Liner in Dark Brown (which dries my lid out really badly. Review soon)

I used ELF contouring blush and brownzing powder and NYX Round Lipstick in IRIS (a gorgeous frosty nude colour) here.

Swatches of NYX Round Lipstick in IRIS :)

Sorry for having such a short and brief post. Its almost 1 now and I should really hit the sake. Hope you guys enjoy the Coral Crepe FOTDs.

Have you bought yours? And how are you liking it so far? :D

TAG: Quirky facts about me :)

I was tagged by the lovely Janice from Chaigyaru to mention some quirky facts about myself, the quirkier, the better. She listed 6 about herself but I could only think about 5 after squeezing most of brain juice, so 5 quirky facts it is then. :D

5 QUIRKY FACTS ABOUT ME :)

1. I am probably one of the BIGGEST sweet tooth you ever known, but I absolutely hate coffee or tea with sugar.

True story. I can tolerate the sweetness of Krispy Kreme doughnuts, cupcakes/cakes icing, when most of my friends finding them too sweet and I love my desserts. However, when it comes to coffee and tea, I like it with milk only. I find sweetened coffee and tea disgusting.

2. I am very anal when it comes to my studying notes.

First of all, I prefer my notes to be hand written (besides legal of course, as there's just way too many words to write) and it HAS to be colourful. You can never find my notes mono-colour. That probably explains the 423423984792 colour pens I own. Secondly, my notes has to be really neat and tidy and evenly distributed throughout the page. If I don't like how it turned out to be, chances are I will actually reprint the notes and rewrite them. My friends used to find it amusing and are constantly annoying me by trying to scribble on my notes, just to see me reprint them. =.=" One time, I was THIS close to reprinting half a semester worth of notes when my notes was wet thanks to the water spillage in my bag. But thank god, my conscience took over and reminded me that I don't need to kill any more trees just because of this weird obsession of mine.

3. I think I am semi- OCD (obsessive compulsive disorder)

Why semi? Well, when you see the current state of my room, which is probably no difference to a tsunami aftermath wtf, OCD is the last thing you would have in your mind. HOWEVER, I am very particular about the arrangement and organisation of my stuff. For example, I need all my stationeries facing the same direction in my pencil case. I get angry when things are not arranged the way I wanted. That explains the countless arguments I had with Mum when she thinks my room is untidy (because I arranged it the way I wanted) and I am annoyed because she messes up my organisation. The usual routine goes like this - I clean and tidy my room till its neat and sparkling clean, then I start leaving things around and have like 242348238402 accessories and other random stuff on my vanity corner up to a certain extent when I couldn't take it anymore. Then, thats when the cleaning and tidying starts again (which usually occurs every 3-4 days). Am I the only weird one or is there anyone out there who's like this too?

4. I have a weird spending habit when it comes to shoes.

Ok, maybe this is not exactly quirky but whatever. I find $30 for a pair of flats steep when I am willing to spend an average of $60-$80 on a pair of heels. And obviously, I wear flats almost every days and once every 2-3 weeks for my heels, and some I don't even touch it for a couple of months. Its bizarre. I should be investing in flats that I wear daily rather than blowing my hard earn cash on some sexy, killer cfm heels which is nice to see but a bitch to walk in. Who's with me for this one? =P

5. I like collecting books (for recreational reading purposes duh)

How's collecting books quirky, one may ask? I think my body releases endorphines when I see story books with the nice cover as well as the smell of the books. Kinda wtf but yeh, it makes me happy. =.=" I tend to buy a lot of books, both the main stream ones as well as those random ones which I think will be good. It's perfectly fine if I read them but I don't, well at least not immediately. I wrap them nicely, store them on my book shelf (while collecting dust at the same time =.=") for a good 3 months or so and when I *decided*that its time to read this book, I start to carry it around with me (without actually started reading). So, when I FINALLY get into reading that book, its usually half a year after I purchased the book and it's kinda old and highly likely that there are a few folded pages. That's the reason why I refused to step into Borders lately, for the fear that I might succumb to Jodi Picoult's newest book,House Rules when I have at least 7 new books on my shelf, waiting to be read. =.="

Since Janice started this as a tag, I shall pass the tag on too :)

I TAG:
  1. Susie from Korean Sushi
  2. Eevon from EeIsVain
  3. Anastacia from My Make Up Mania
  4. Angelique from AngXo
  5. YOU (Do leave a comment with you link if you did this tag :D Would love to find out more about your random, quirky facts.)

TBE How To: Electric Blue Smokey Eyes

My apologies. I know I am really behind with my updates, with a few posts sitting in the draft department waiting to make its grand appearance. I should skip the I-am-so-busy-excuse and jump right into today's post. :D

This was a look I created a couple of weeks ago, when I had a quiet night out with my girls - dinner, dessert, drinks, and of course endless gossips and bitching. Gotta girls night out like this. I was in the mood to create something different from my usual smokey eyes with neutral colours or my neutral pop look and I remembered that I have this electric blue sample pigment I received along with my order from CrushCosmetics sometime ago, which is collecting dust in the deserted corner of my make up stash.

VOILA, an electric blue smokey eyes it is. :D I haven't worn such bold colours in a VERY long time and I love how the electric blue gives a lift to the entire look. I know for sure, this pigment is going to make its appearance very soon again :)

I know falsies will make the whole look even more dramatic and make my eyes look larger. However, my last few attempts with falsies were total disaster thanks to the shit lashglue I am currently having. It took me HALF AN HOUR the last time I tried applying my falsies. URGH, we need better accessibility to DUO and Ardell Lash Glue.

A quick blog-torial on how to create this look:

*click for larger view*
I have applied ELF Mineral Eyeshadow Primer prior to Step 1.

- Don't forget to fill in your brows and highlight your brow bone area.-

On my EYES
NYX Concealer in a Jar in Light (For under eye dark circles)
ELF Mineral Eyeshadow Primer
Electric Blue pigment from CrushCosmetics
ELF Single Eyeshadow in Raspberry Truffles
Prestige Single Eyeshadow in Suede (Brow bone and inner corner of my eyes -tearduct area)
Maybelline Eyestudio Lasting Drama Eyeliner in Black (Upper Lash Line)
Revlon Colorstay Eyeliner in Black (Lower Lash Line)
ELF Eyebrow Kid in Medium
Maybelline Magnum Volume Mascara in Black

On my FACE
Revlon PhotoReaedy Foundation in Natural Beige
Maybelline Dream Matte Powder in Ivory Light
ELF Contouring Blush and Bronzing Powder

On my LIPS
NYX Round Lipstick in Circe
Mac Lipglass in FloraBundance

-Outfit of the night-

What do you think of the look? Is it too bold for your liking or is it something you would wear on a Saturday night out?

FOTD - Candywoman

Hey lovelies,

The weekend just flew past without me realising and its Monday again. And ever since I have been working almost full time hours at my current job, I have been hating Mondays. Oh well, I should stay positive and shouldn't complain so much. At least, I had a great weekend! Will update you guys about that later. :) How did you spend your weekend?

Anyways, I decided to do a quick update before hitting the sack because I think I have been a pretty fail blogger lately. =.="

:+:+:+:+:+:+:+:+:+:+:+:+:+:+:+:+:+:+:+:+:+:+:+:+:+:+:+:+:+:+:+:+:+:+:+:

" Are you going on a date today, Adeline?", a colleague of mine asked me today.

I looked at him, puzzled. (as I was in my sweater, tights and sneakers today, not exactly a date-proof outfit, isn't it) So, I asked him where did he get the idea from. And the answer I got was, " Oh, I got the idea because it seems like you're nicely made up today."

The irony is, today is one of the days where I wore minimal make up with no effort to experience new colours. All I did was put on my new Australis Moisture Intense Lipstick in Candy (a really gorgeous fushia colour. swatches below) from Priceline last week when they were having clearance.

Like I said, just your everyday-neutral look with the typical earthy brown colour, a thin line of eyeliner and a coat of mascara.

I didn't even bothered with the whole Neutral Pop look *click* and it is definitely much more simple compared to the Japenezu inspired look *click* and the Purple Paradise look *click* which I had worn to work.

A close up.

On my EYES
Revlon Illuminance Creme Shadow in Coral Me Wild (The lightest colour as base)
88 warm colour palette (for both matte lid and crease colour)
NYX Jumbo Eyeshadow Pencil in Cottage Cheese (to highlight browbone)
Maybelline Eyestudio Lasting Drama Eyeliner in Black (Upper Lash Line)
Revlon Colorstay Eyeliner in Black (Lower Lash Line)
Maybelline Magnum Volum' Mascara in Black
In2It Waterproof Eyebrow Colour in Eyebrowns

On my FACE
Etude House Magic BB Cream
NYX Concealer in a Jar in Light
Maybelline Dream Matte Powder in Ivory Light
Rimmel Powder Blush in Pink Rose

On my LIPS
Australis Moisture Intense Lipstick in Candy

I came to realisation that flash makes my face looks much more chubbier than it already is. Blurgh.

As you can see, the whole Monday Blues was acting up on me. Hence, minimal camwhoring was done and the quality of photos were pretty bad. My apologies.

AUSTRALIS MOISTURE INTENSE LIPSTICK IN CANDY

I grabbed this lipstick from Priceline out of curiosity as I have read a couple of pretty good reviews on their make up products. It was going for $2.99 in the clearance basket and it seems like a pretty colour on the packaging so I decided to give it a try.

-With flash-
As you can see, the formula is pretty moisturizing and it doesn't dry my lips (like most of the lipsticks do and especially in the cold weather).

-Without flash-
Also, it is VERY pigmented. It lasted for a good few hours, without having me to touch it up. Another extra brownies points for that.:)

-With flash-

I am really happy with this lippie, especially for the price I paid for. Absolutely loving the bright fushia pink colour, it does brighten up the entire look on the days you prefer to go light and easy and your eyes. For Sydneysiders, do check out your nearer Priceline. So far, I have seen this offer at Burwood and World Square. It's always good to snatch a good bargain. :)

:+:+:+:+:+:+:+:+:+:+:+:+:+:+:+:+:+:+:+:+:+:+:+:+:+:+:+:+:+:+:+:+:+:+:+:

My colleague's comment kinda got me thinking. Are the guys really that oblivious to women's make up? Or they are just ignorant and doesn't give a shit? OR, this lipstick really does stand out and grab all the attention?

I guess its somewhat true when they say women dressed up and look good for themselves and for other women (read: competitiveness) and not for men.

What are your thoughts,beauties?

A

Bubblegum

Hey lovelies!!

It's the weekend again!!! Fortunate for me, mine started on Thursday as I was only working 3 days this week. However, it's not gonna be the same next week. I forsee a hectic week ahead, 4 days of work and an interview coming up. Fingers crossed for that, wish me luck people! Will try to have a couple of updates over the weekend. :D

So, let's have a trip down memory lane to last Thursday. I was invited to MokTheorem's fashion show at Audi Centre Sydney, which is located in Zetlands (read: in the middle of no where) I kinda brushed aside the fact that I am *quite* illiterate when it comes to reading maps and I thought I could get there by bus and another 5 minutes walk. To cut the long story short, I ended up getting lost in a quiet and DARK residential area and had to keep my friend,C on the phone on half an hour, with the fear of getting abducted and ended up having S to pick me up from no man's land and dropped me back in city as I was already an hour late. Thanks guys ♥. Such a shame though as I heard that their fashion show is one of the best in Australia. Oh well, next time.

I ended up going crazy on an accessories haul from EQUIP and Diva as they were having massive clearance. *coming up in next post :D* and also, an epic camwhore session when I got home LOL.

Instead of the usual opening with FOTD, I shall start with my outfit of the day, a full on one. :)

That was my outfit of the *fail* night. This gorgeous red coat is one of my BEST-est buys EVER! Got this during my summer vacation in Guilin, China last year *click* and guess how much was it? 99RMB and that's less than AUD20! Can you believe what a good steal that was? I love how red screams powerful and strong (not exactly the best description but you get my drift.), yet the design has a very feminine touch to it. An absolute ♥ of mine this winter.

Got this dress for AUD15 from Market City when they were having clearance. I am not sure about you guys but I get a really great sense of satisfaction when I spend minimum amount on a gorgeous piece. :D

This was the nude pumps I got for my 21st birthday last year *click* :D Looks good but a total bitch to walk with.

And this snake-scaled-clutch/handbag is from SportsGirl , which was on a 50% discount when I got them. $14.95 from $29.95 *win*

As you can probably tell, I am into statement rings, especially skulls one. :D

Loving this!! Never fail to get compliments every time I wear them.:)

All accessories are from Diva, my all time favourite accessories shop. Only when they are on discounts though. Yes, that's the Asian in me talking. Most of their stock will go on sale after some time, unless you're one who HAS to own the latest piece of accessories, you should definitely wait for a couple of months before getting your favourite piece and you can probably grab it at 1/3 of its original price.

:+:+:+:+:+:+:+:+:+:+:+:+:+:+:+:+:+:+:+:+:+:+:+:+:+:+:+:+:+:+:+:+:

Let's move on to the FOTD now. :D

I wasn't in the most adventurous mood that day, so I went with the same-old boring Smokey Look with falsies on the outer half of my lashes, which is almost fail proof.

On my EYES
MAC Bare Study Paint Pot
Maybelline Stylish Smokes Quad in Natural Smokes
Maybelline Eyestudio Lasting Drama Eyeliner in Black (Upper Lash Line)
Revlon Colorstay Eyeliner in Black (Lower Lash Line)
Random Asian Falsies
Cover Girl LashBlast Mascara in Black
ELF Eyebrow Kid in Medium

On my FACE
Revlon PhotoReady Foundation in Natural Beige
Maybelline Dream Matte powder in Ivory Light
ELF Blush in Peachy Keen
CHI CHI Mosaic Bronzer in Dark
CHI CHI Single White Female Eyeshadow (as highlight)

On my LIPS
Lucas Papaw Ointment
MAC Glaze Lipstick in BubbleGum

Using half a falsie instead of a full one makes the eyes look more natural, don't ya think?

-Without flash-

I am amazed by how awesome the look turned out to be with a simple Maybelline Quad. (I know I have used that quad 8048234823820348 times but this is my first time using it on its own to create a more dramatic smokey look.) I will definitely recommend any smokey-eyes-amateurs to get this quad as it is inexpensive and hence you don't have to feel bad if you spent half of the pan on trial and error to create the perfect smokey eye look.

I kinda enjoy doing the outfit post and I might considering doing it more often. Which one do you guys prefer? A mix of outfit and make up posts or would you guys prefer make up only? Drop a comment and let me know.

How is your weekend so far? I am looking forward to a goooood night with my usual crew tonight. :D Have a lovely weekend! ♥

XOXO,
A
