PRODUCTS I LOVE #2: SPRING EDITION

It has been a good 3 months since my last #ProductsILove post and now that winter is over, weather has turned warmer, me thinks its time for an updated edition since we use different products based on different season, no?

HERE are a few of my favourite products that I have tried and tested recently:

Face of Australia Budge Proof Eyeshadows

TOP L-R: Emerald Tears, Poison Ivy, Bling Bling
BOTTOM L-R: Violet Rays, Bronze Sphinkx

L - R: Emerald Tears, Poison Ivy, Bling Bling, Violet Rays & Bronze Sphinx

FAVOURITES of the loot are: Violet Rays & Bronze Sphinx.

Violet Rays made smokey eyes a whole lot more wearable - I have been wearing this smokey eyes till the past 2 weeks or so ever since I have mastered my "perfect" day smokey eyes. Simply apply Violet Rays all over your lids and apply a matte brown/ coffee eyeshadow to the outer corner of your lids and halfway through your crease to blend the harsh lines out. VOILA - smokey eyes in less than 5 minutes.

Bronze Sphinx is my new to-go-to colour as the weather gets warmer. I don't know about you but I try to keep my make up to the bare minimum (as possible) during the warmer months. On the good days, I go completely sans eyeshadow. However, when I feel the need to have some colours on my eyelids, this is the baby to go to. I either wear it on its own, or add some dark brown eyeshadow to the outer corner of my lids & halfway through my crease for a more defined look. Another winner in my books.

Neutrogena Beach Defence Water & Barrier Lotion and Spray SPF 50

This new sunscreen range from Neutrogena is god sent for summer - especially with the scorching one we're expecting! Whilst I'm a HUGE fan of tanning, I am a massive sun screen freaks too. Can't really turn a blind eye when you have Skin Cancer ads poppin up left, right, centre! (Good work, NSW gov on your skin cancer campaign!)

Neutrogena Beach Defence Water & Barrier Lotion - This is definitely my beach essential this summer - 4 hour after resistant, rich but non sticky & smells good. Need I say more?

Neutrogena Beach Defence Water & Barrier Spray - Personally, I think slathering sunscreen on a daily basis takes too much effort especially in the morning. PLUS, it feels wrong putting on work clothes after applying sunscreen. No? This sunscreen spray is made for lazy bums like me and it's SO convenient. I spray on before I leave for work and even have a can on my desk at work for some "touch up" if I decide to get some Vitamin D at Hyde Park during my lunch break. Convenience at its best and I can tan without guilt!

Just in case you haven't already picked it up, I am quite lazy and anything that saves me time gets extra brownie points :P

Face of Australia BB Cream in Medium to Dark

Spring & summertime calls for au naturale make up. The last thing you want is having your cakeface melting under the 30 degrees weather. Whilst I still use heavier coverage foundation for night outs and events, I try to keep it simple during my day-to-day routine and this BB cream has been a recent favourite for me.

Like most BB creams do, it provides pretty sheer coverage. However, you are able to build it up slightly by applying a second layer. (This is kinda defeating the purpose of avoiding cakeface, right?) At less than $15 a pop, this will be one of my summer go-tos. The only drawback about this BB cream is it does not have any SPFs so PLEASE remember to apply sunscreen prior to applying this!

Marc Jacob Honey Perfume

As someone who loves florals and fruity scent, this is another winner from the Marc Jacobs fragrance collection. It's less floral-y than Daisy & not as sweet as Dots - perfect summer day scent.

MUK Curl Stick

For those of you who don't know, my hair has been chemically strengtened (Japanese straightening) for the past 12 years (holy shit, it's almost a decade!). Ain't no normal curler is gonna make my curls stay! So, when I got the chance to try this out, I jumped right straight into it! Coming in 3 different sized wands and 3 adjustable temperature (perfect for those with finer hair and don't want to kill your hair under high temperature), seems like a great deal to me. I have only used the large barrel so far as I have fairly thick hair but it creates long-lasting curls for me that holds throughout the day! SOLD.

Whilst I have YET to perfect soft curls I love, I think I am getting there. :P Next up, to get the summer "effortless" beach waves. Hello Sea Salt Spray, you are gonna be my best friend!

These are my current FAVs which I have been reaching out to heaps!
I will dedicate a post to my fav spring/ summer lip products, because, lippies totes need a post on their own.

Have you tried any of the products above?
If not, what are your current favourites?

Through Beauty Eyes' Social Diaries #2 + What's New?

HAPPY THURSDAY lovelies! 7.5 working hours to go and it's THE long weekend. Everybody gives me a HELL YEH! *Too much EDM songs as of late*

What's a better way to make a return after another month of unannounced than a pictures-filled Through Beauty Eyes Social Diaries and What's New post?

Picture speak a thousand words and lets me honest here - we all enjoy scrolling down pretty photos over reading thesis-like-paragraphs. Well, at least I do. Most of the time anyways.
(Just a heads up - the next few series posts will be as wordy as you could possibly imagine! Keep reading if you're curious =P)

Right? RIGHTTTT?

BE WARNED - the will be one HECK of a picture post since I, well, have not neen updating this poorly neglected space of mine with social events and newly launched products since... Forever.
#GuiltyAsCharged

I attended BIODERMA Blogger Breakfast earlier this year and was introduced to a few of their newly launched products and most importantly the price reduction for one of the best sellers - BioDerma For Crealine H20 make up remover! This is THE make up remover that's sworn by international make up artist - Rae Morris

Launch of Colgate Optic White @ The Island
Gorgeous  weather, amazing view of the Harbour Bridge and Opera House, unlimited supply of bubbles - what more can you ask for at a launch?

Colgate Optic White is a revolutionary new toothpaste that claims to deliver three shades whiter teeth. Whiter teeth without the fuss and expense of having to visit the dentist. Sounds like a pretty good deal to me - would definitely love to see how effective the whitening effect is!

:+:+:+:+:+:+:+:+:+:+:+:+:+:+:+:+:+:+:+:+:+:+:+:+:+:+:+:

I was invited to the media launch of Batiste Dry Shampoo in Fruity & Cheeky Cherry at The Winery a while ago but couldn't make it cos my finger was getting screwed. #punintended But the lovely Fiona from Star PR sent me a love package with the brand new Batiste Dry Shampoo in Fruity &Cheeky Cherry to try out.

Can i say, I'm in love - This might have just taken over Diva as my all time fav dry shampoo (as blogged about HERE)! They are both great saviours during my lazy days but Cherry smells WAY better. Anything that saves me time and smells awesome always score extra brownie points in my book! This will definitely be a repurchase!

Attended my first Live, Aspire, Blog event - covered HERE

Yours truly was lucky enough to get a last minute invite from Miss Lather Rinse Repeat, ie Michaela as her plus one to Lindt Cafe, Martin Place relaunch - an invite to impossibly say no despite the fact that I wasn't in my best work outfit; (either thongs & corporate wear or runners with workout shorts) hitting the gym post workout, prior to the event; and having ZERO make up besides lipsticks in my handbag*.  You can imagine the horror I had when the red carpet at the entrance appeared in front of me. Go figure.
*Before you go "What? But you're a beauty blogger" on me - I usually carry a massive make up bag which weighs a tonne in my handbag. I, however, have removed these extra "burden" ever since I broke a finger

CHOCOLATE HEAVEN (Clockwise from top):
Hazelnut martini (OMFG) & Dark Chocolate Shot, Freshly made chocolate slice, Lindt brand new mocha machiato & freshly made macarons (SALTED CARAMEL. THE BOMB. NUFF SAID)

Despite all that, I'm SO GLAD that I attended. I might have went into severe chocolate coma that night with all the amazing delicacies about. THANK GOD I squeezed in a quick HIIT before - my dress
would have probably snapped otherwise due to the chocolate baby! #EatThisBurnThat
Don't forget to LIKE me on EatThisBurnThat Facebook Page or FOLLOW me on EatThisBurnThat twitter for some daily #Fitspo & #MealPrep ideas. Very exciting announcement coming soon! :)

I couldn't make it to the Neutrogena Naturals launch due to the pretty last minute invite but a big thank you to Platinum Media for sending me the newly launched products to try out!
Neutrogena is my first skincare memory as they were introduced to me when I hit "the age to start wearing skincare". Mum picked Neutrogena over other brands simply based on the fact that its "gentle and effective" message. And of course, its pocket friendly too. Now kids, if you have just hit the age, remember less is more. The simple, the better. The last thing you want to is getting your skin used to some super exotic and exy skincare at such a young age!
Neutrogena Natural range is claimed to have use ecofriendly ingredients to provide effective results. I have yet to try this out myself but I would love to see if it still works as well on my post teen skin. :)

Packed with antioxidants, vitamins A,C,E and F – it claims to enhance cell – turnover, reduce hyperpigmentation and ensure a smoother surface appearance. New alternative to botox, perhaps?

WINTER WARMERS #2: NIGHT CARE

I know, its spring now. Why is the word "Winter" still showing up in your posts, Adeline? Winter is all history, for the year 2012 at least.

Well well, if you remember my post approximately 2 weeks ago, I am wrapping up my winter favourites in my Winter Warmer series and today's post happens to be the second instalment of it and its all about my night skincare products.

Just a quick recap and an excerpt from my previous post regarding my skin conditions:

"Before I go on with my product talks, allow me to have a quick run through about my skin type and what not. I have really dry skin and it gets flaky in some extreme days. However, due to some unknown reasons, instead of flaking this winter, I started to develop rashes on my left cheeks and hives on my forehead. They are as temperamental as a woman's hormones and it comes and disappears as they wish. Randomly.

The products above are the ones that I use in the better days - when the rashes and hives get a tad too overwhelming (ie redness & bumps), I switched to my trusty steroid cream and sorberlene cream as moisturiser."

NIGHT CARE PRODUCTS:
(in chronological orders in term of products application)

Kiehl's Midnight Recovery Concentrate (RRP $59.00)*: "One night, two drops, younger looking skin in the morning" - Kiehl's claims that it replenishes skin with moisture and helps to recover radiance by morning. I can't be too sure about the recover radiance part but my skin definitely feels more hydrated and moisturised after using this. With lavender essential oil as one of its key ingredients, apart from reducing the skin blotchiness, it smells really lovely and helps calm your mind down and prepare you for a good night sleep. Two drops everynight is all you need.

The Jojoba Company Intense Overnight Renewal Creme (RRP $52.95)*: This Overnight Renewal Creme claims to nurture collagen production, repairs the appearance of skin, and of course hydrate the skin with beneficial ingredients such as green tea, Beta Glucan, Vitamin A&E, Hyaluronic acid and Argan Oil. Rich, moisturising and natural, exactly what I need on a cold winter night. This will probably go to the storage in the warmer months though as I tend to stick to water-base moisturisers in spring/ summer.

(Not pictured) Kiehl's Midnight Recover Eye (RRP $44.00)*: Following the successful introduction of Kiehl's Midnight Recovery Concentrate, Kiehl's introduces its ideal companion to help achieve fresher, younger looking eyes in the morning by dimisnishing puffiness and fine lines & wrinkles. Not as refreshing as The Jojoba Company Cucumber + Guava Firming Eye Gel (as mentioned HERE), Kiehl's Midnight Recover Eye has a much thicker consistency and I did notice that after using this for almost 3 months, I do wake up with less puffier eyes in the morning.

Neutrogena Hydroboost Water Gel (RRP approximately $20): This is a replacement for my Clinique Moisture Surge and is the final step of my routine to "lock in" my serum and moisturiser before hitting the sack. As the name suggests, it is water base and feels extremely hydrating on the skin. I love the "cooling" feeling of this gel when applied - it's like an instant hydration boost to my face.  However, compared to the other products I am using, this is probably the "least natural" of all. Hence, I tend to stay clear of this whenever my skin go psychotic on me and rashes is popping up everywhere.

(I got mine from Malaysia during my most recent trip back but unfortunately, I don't think they stock this here in Australia. If you are looking for something similar, Clinique Moisture Surge is probably the closest but the price will be slightly more expensive.)

The Jojoba Company 100% Natural Jojoba Oil (RRP $19.95)* : Jojoba Oil is well known as a powerful moisturiser and it helps soothes and balances the skin. It is no longer a news that I have really sensitive skin and it goes crazy during the change of seasons. I put my Kiehl's Midnight Recovery Concentrate on hold whenever my rashes became more visible and switch to the good ol' Jojoba Oil to help restore my skin (which usually takes a couple of days). Definitely a good alternative to the conventional serum if you try to go au naturale with your skincare.
