Quickie - Lunchtime haul (GREAT bargains :D)

Goodday :)

Just a quick haul post today before heading to bed. Giveaway winner will be announced tomorrow. Just finished inputing all the datas on Excel and checked the extra entries. All I need now is just to check that all the participants are followers of Through Beauty Eyes either through Google Friends Connect, Twitter or Facebook. Then, we will have a winner. *jumps in excitement* =)

Anyhoos, without further ado, let's have a peep at the 2 nail products I got during lunch time today. =)

ITEM 1: SECHE VITE Dry Fast Top Coat, $14.95

My HG top coat as I change my nail colour every week, if not more frequently. Definitely one of the best.invention.EVER. However, one of the downside of this product is it gets really THICK after a while (in my case, after going through half a bottle). This is my THIRD bottle and I am really considering buying this special solution to de-thicken it instead of buying a new bottle everytime it thickens.

Have any of you tried that de-thickening solution (I can't remember the actual name for it at the top of my head at the moment)? Are they any good??

ITEM 2: Pirates of the Caribbean 4 OPI Mini Nail Set, $14.95

When I saw Jaime and Lara with Stranger Tides and Skull & Gloss Bones respectively (if I am not mistaken) during the Kiehl's Beauty Blogger Event, I knew I had to get them babies.

I was SUPER STOKED when I saw them selling for only $14.95 when I was looking for my Seche Vite Dry Fast Top Coat. Most of you probably already know that beauty products in Australia are ridiculously priced - a full sized bottle costs a staggering $19.95 and Jaime got her mini set for $24.95!!! A BIG thank you to Michelle and Anita for taking me to SA Beauty Supplies Store after the Sydney Beauty Bloggers Yumcha Event

SA Beauty Supplies Store is located on Level 8, Dymocks Building on George Street, Sydney!

You Sydneysiders should definitely check that place out if you're looking for a good bargain! They do carry China Glaze Nail Polishes for $7.95 too. :) Do keep in mind though, your purse might not be very happy at the end of your trip. :P

Have a good week lovelies!
Will be back with a more detailed update along with swatches of those gorgeous nail polishes soon! Stay tune.

XOXO,

KIEHL'S IS GROWING, PRICES ARE SHRINKING!!!

Hey lovelies,

How's your week treating you so far? I am FINALLY done with my Financial Reporting exam on Tuesday (Celebration time! Except, I am still coughing like an old granny and am down with a nasty flu thanks to the insanely cold weather here in Sydney.) Will be back to my blogging track, with more frequent posting. :) I have attended a couple of events since I sealed my exam papers in the envelop and handed over to the invigilator and Kiehl's Beauty Blogger Event was one of them. Many thanks to Elise Garland Public Relations for organising the event.

From the title of this post, you can probably tell that Kiehl's Australia is cutting their price significantly! Just a little background information here, for you non-Aussies out there, the Australian retail price for beauty products hasn't exactly been exactly favourable with its ridiculously high price. (For example, a MAC lipstick costs $14.50 in the States but a whopping A$35 here in Australia.) Hence, it's good to know that the Australian franchises are finally decided to do something about the sky-rocket price and mark them down. I understand that most retailers still need to achieve a certain margin and you do get taxed at a higher rate here in Australia, but at least someone is finally trying to make beauty products more affordable for us avid beauty fanatics out there. =)

Kiehl's new slogan -
KIEHL'S IS GROWING,
PRICES ARE SHRINKING.

Thanks to Kiehl's worldwide success and growth, they decided to give back to their customers by dropping their prices in Australia. The announcement was made in 2011 Kiehl's Skincare Symposium in Sydney and Kiehl's Price Drop is effective from 9th May 2011.

Many iconic, cult products including Creme de Corps range of body lotions, Ultra Facial skin care products, the highly-efficacious Dermatologist Solutions Range, and everyone's favourite: Lip Balm #1.
We were given a 4 pages updated Price List, which details the new RRP for the Kiehl's products that are part of "Kiehl's Growing, Price are Shrinking" campaign.

Feel free to drop me an email if you wanna find out whether your favourite Kiehl's product is involved in this change or simply head over to Kiehl's Australia Facebook page for more information.

I think there's enough background information for the time being and lets move on to the event on Tuesday night. :)
There were a few skin consultants there to help us out - analysing our skin type and recommending suitable products according to our skin type and age group. At the risk as coming across as a total noob, I was super fascinated by this "PH paper look-a-like-thingamajiggy" (Does any of you know what is it called?) which was used by Melanie, my skin consultant for the night to analyse my skin type. All Melanie did was place that paper at the top of my forehead and cheeks and base on the changes on the paper, she was able to tell that my forehead is normal skin type and my cheeks is in the dry department. (Unfortunately, I was too busy being intrigued by that and forgotten about the camera I was holding and I don't have a photo of it. #failblogger).

Each blogger takes home with them a press release kit (the small carry bag) with a "I ♥ Kiehl's" mug and 2 Kiehl's products + their famous lip balm, complementary of Kiehl's Australia. :)

A couple of samples that were given by the lovely Kiehl's consultant. :)

So, in conjunction with Kiehl's awesome initiative of price reduction, Kiehl's Australia are having a fun competition for us beauty bloggers and that involves a little favour from my lovely readers.

If you have Facebook: Head over to Kiehl's Australia Facebook page , "Like"Kiehl's Australia Facebook page and post on there "I found about the Kiehl's Price Drop from Through Beauty Eyes and my favourite product is.........."

If you are on Twitter: Simply post "@egpr_beauties I found out about the Kiehl's Price Drop from @AdelineEr and my favourite product is............."

For the extensive list of Kiehl's product range, check out http://www.kiehls.com/
My personal favourite is Kiehl's Avocado Eyecream! I am already going through my second one. :)

I know everyone is excited to know what are the PRIZES for this exciting competition.
The blogger with the most comments on the will win the competition and receive a deluxe pack of Kiehl's best selling products and of course one lucky reader will be receiving a plethora of deluxe samples. :)

The competition concludes on Friday, 20 May 2011. It will be greatly appreciated if you lovely readers is able to head over to Kiehl's Australia Facebook page or tweet about it. Rove you rong time Love you long timeeee

Just a quick note, my 1 Year Anniversary Giveaway is now CLOSED. I am still in the progress of collating everyone's entry on a spreadsheet. The winner will be announced either tomorrow or at the latest Tuesday. :)

XOXO,

PhotoPost - Quickieeeee =)

Happy Sunday everyone!!! =)

Hope you Sydney-siders are out soaking up some sun in this gorgeous weather, considering we are towards the end of autumn. I, on the other hand, have been home-bound and being a hermit since last Wednesday, in preparation for my Financial Reporting paper for my CA exam on Tuesday. :( The fact that I am coughing like an old grandma isn't really helping either. :(

Just a quick update whilst taking a 10 minutes break after lunch before I go into total lockdown mode for the next 36 hours. A quick picture post about what's been happening in my life as of late. They are mainly random photos taking using my iPhone or PhotoBooth, hence not watermarked. :)

Asian lollies to keep me sane! They are all gone now btw. =.="

My Soap And Glory haul from Kitcosmetics. Absolutely loving these products!
I have been doing quite a bit of online retail therapy in the past 2 weeks, which I am pretty positive that my credit card is hating me at the moment. Do expect a couple of collective haul posts after Tuesday.=)

Very much needed caffeine! Large strong latte is what I always get. =)

B&W shot with my brand new Raybans from ShopBob (Gotta make use of the strong AUD right? :P)

My nicely tabbed notes - Open book exam but the course materials are beyond normal means. It's like 4 semesters worth of uni work crammed into a 3 months course. =.="

My Sunday face (taken 2 weeks ago) - Face of Australia Mineral Foundation, minimum eye make up and bright lips. =)

State of my desk at the moment - it's embarrassingly messy and looks like it has just been hit by a massive tornado!

Outfit of the night - What I wore to Madame Butterfly ballet performance at Sydney Opera House during Anzac Day. =)

Hope you enjoyed this quick update-photopost.
I seriously cannot wait for this to be over and have my life back!
Gym, blogging, social life or simply just chilling!
I was super bummed out having to miss RAFW due to my study commitment but I am glad that I have a few beauty events coming up next week AFTER my exam. Definitely looking forward to it! :)

Hope you guys are having a wonderful weekend!

ALSO, don't forget to enter my GIVEAWAY, which will be ending in THREE DAYS!

Till then,
toodleS.

MARC JACOBS DAISY EAU SO FRESH

Having a hardtime choosing between flower and fragrance?

Marc Jacobs Daisy Eau So Fresh might be the solution to your dilemma.

Marc Jacobs' new Daisy ESF is a bright, floral and fruity fragrance. It radiates with crisp raspberry, sensuous wild rose and deep and warm plum.

Sophisticated but not too serious, Daisy Eau So Fresh Captures the Vintage Flavour of Marc Jacobs' feminine, edgy designs.

TOP: Ruby Red Grapefruit, Raspberry, Green Leaves, Pear
MID: Violet, Wild Rose, Apple Blossom, Lychee, Jasmine Petals
BASE: Musks, Plum, Cedar wood

So, what's the difference between the original Daisy and the new Daisy ESF?

Judging from the name "Eau So Fresh", you can probably guessed that Daisy ESF is a lighter scent compared to the original Daisy.

As I do not personally owned the original Daisy, I can't comment much in terms of the scent difference between the two Daisies. However, I managed to find out more information with respect to the difference in scents from Erika, the PR team for MJ Daisy ESF. :)

" Daisy ESF opens with notes of raspberry, pear and grapefruit. The heart of the fragrance is apple blossom, rose and violet, with base notes of cedar wood, caramel, musks and plum.

The original Daisy, however, opens with violet leaves, strawberry and grapefruit. Middle notes are gardenia, jasmine and violet, while the base notes are wood, musk and vanilla."

THE DESIGN

The Daisy ESF bottle is a reinterpretation of the original Daisy - taller and slimmer version of the original rounded, feminine silhouette. The exaggerated gold cap with soft pink and white daisies that are soft to touch and a pop of neon yellow hidden amongst the daisies family.

Personally, I find that the pink bottled Daisy ESF has a girlier and gentle touch to it and screams elegance whereas the original Daisy's gives more of a "mature" vibe and screams sophistication.

Being a sucker for pretty things, the cap with its pretty daisies family has definitely added a tonnes of brownie points in my book! :) I am sure many of you agree with me.

My experience so far (1.5 weeks):

Fruity and floral scents always rank ahead of vanilla scents in my "favourites" department. Hence, it's a no brainer that I am loving Marc Jacobs Daisy ESF. This scent is definitely much lighter and "refreshing" compared to my DKNY Be Delicious EDP and Estee Lauder Pleasure EDP and I feel like a teenage girl again (not that I am THAT old :P) when I use it - sweet and girly. #imsoshameless
Just like any other EDTs, Daisy ESF does not last as long as Be Delicious and Pleasure. The fragrance is barely there at the end of the day but that doesn't really concern me as it is almost home and shower time for me when the scent fades. :)

Daisy Eau So Fresh is available 18 April 2011 from David Jones, MYER, The Perfume Connection and selected pharmacies nationwide. For more information, please visit www.daisymarcjacobs.com.

Eau De Toilette Spray   75mL   RRP $115
                                      125 mL RRP $145
Body Lotion               150mL  RRP $40

What's your favourite scent?
Have you tried the original Marc Jacobs Daisy or Daisy Eau So Fresh?
