2014 #FIFAWorldCup Inspired MakeUp #1 - Brazil

So, World Cup fever doesn’t necessarily have to revolve around the actual soccer ball (or football) itself.

Especially for us chicas, the FIFA world cup gives us more reasons to rock bright and colourful looks during the tournament. (Not that we need any reasons to – but as I grow older, I tend to stay on the “safe side” and haven’t been exploring colourful FOTD as much as I used to do. Is it just me or are there anyone else with me? :P)

So,after a random playtime and experiment last Friday in conjunction with the open ceromony of 2014 Brazil FIFA World Cup, I decided to create this ThroughBeautyEyes 2014 FIFA World Cup Inspired Make Up series.

This series will consist of make up based on the World Cup theme over the couse of this tournament - not neccessarily in the order of countries I support!

ThroughBeautyEyes 2014 #FIFAWorldCup Inspired MakeUp - Brazil

Of course, Brazil will be the first instalment in this series, being the host country and all ;)

Illamasqua Fundamental Palette | INGLOT Freedom Palette | Wet n Wild Eyeshadow Palette in Pride
These are the palettes I used to create this look but feel free to make use of whatever colours you have in your stash - all you need is bright yellow, green and dark blue eyeshadows. AND of course, a very good blending blush!

EYES

Urban Decay Primer Potion
NYX Jumbo Pencil in Milk
Maybelline Colour Tattoo in Edgy Emerald
Face of Australia Eye Brow Kit
Dolly Wink Liquid Liner
(I replaced it with Face of Australia Budge Proof Gel Liner in Brilliant Blue in my step-to-step tutorial guide)
Dolly Wink Volume Mascara in Black
YELLOW (#1) | Illamasqua Fundamental Palette - Powder shadow in Hype (#1)
GREEN | INGLOT Eyeshadow (#2) + Wet n Wild eyeshadow palette in Pride (#3)
BLUE | Wet n Wild eyeshadow palette in Pride (#4)

STEP BY STEP TUTORIAL:
2014 #FIFAWorldCup Inspired MakeUp - Brazil

1. After priming your eyes with a primer and set the base with a cream eyeshadow (I used NYX Jumbo Eye Pencil in Milk and Maybelline Colour Tattoo in Edgy Emerald here), gently pack on the green eyeshadow on the centre of the lid, leaving out the inner and outter corner of your eyes.

2. Then, apply the dark blue eyeshadow at the outter corner of your eyes, creating a "V" shape and bringing it slightly into your crease.

3. Next, apply a bright matte yellow eyeshadow (using Illamasqua Hype from the Fundamental Palette) at the inner corner of your eyes, dragging it down to your inner tear duct area/ lower lash line.

4. BLEND, BLEND & BLEND all three colours together. You may lose some of the intensity of the colours, just go back and pack on more colours and blend it until there are no harsh lines and reached the intensity you are looking for.

5. Line your upper lash line with either a black or dark blue eyeliner and create a wing.

6. Then, line 1/3 of your bottom lash line with the same eyeliner and connect it to the wing.

7. Set the eyeliner with the same blue eyeshadow that you use on your outter V.

8. Line the middle (1/3) of your lower lash line with the green eyeshadow you used on your eyelid.

To finish off the look, apply a few generous coats of your favourite mascara (mine is Dolly Wink volume mascara - no surprises here) and to magnify the effect of this look, you may add on some falsies but I wasn't quite up for that. ;)

PRODUCTS I LOVE #4 (Haul from M'sia/ SG)

It's been a while since I my last #ProductsILove edition and its time to share a few of my new (and old) love. These are the products that I (re)purchased during my (not so) recent trip back to Malaysia/ Singapore. So, its kinda a combination of fav products AND haul. :P

Essential Nuance Airy Hair Mask: BEST hair mask ever and it only costs approximately AUD10 a pop! Stumbled upon my first tub whilst I was in Singapore as I left my conditioner at home and fell in love since! I even got a friend who was in Thailand at that time to grab me 2 extra tubs as they don't sell it in Malaysia! I use this hair mask every 2-3 days and it leaves my hair super soft, shiny AND bouncy!
I have seen them around random Asian cosmetic store in Chinatown but you get grab them from Sasa.Com (free shipping over $75!).

NYX Blush in Mocha: Got this from Sephora, Malaysia (yes they stock up NYX products there!). This was one of the very first products that I have heard a lot about when Youtube tutorials weren't quite a thing yet. This is the perfect neutral shade that gives you a healthy glow. And this is quite pigmented to so a little go a long way! Mocha has been my to-go-to blush all summer!

Maybelline SO Nude By Colour Sensational Lipstick in NU32S: This is the ideal coral shade for everyday wear - just the right amount of colour, pigmentation and shine and not too OTT. I got this in while I was in Malaysia - not sure if they will be available in Australia anytime soon (or ever) though.

Dolly Wink Liquid Eyeliner: THE eyeliner that gives me the perfect flick/ cat eye in less than 30 seconds, dry almost instantly and long lasting. I have gone through at least 8 of these over the past 2 years. HG status in my books when it comes to liquid eyeliner.

Dolly Wink and Kiss Me Heroine Volume Mascara: Just like the Dolly Wink Liquid Eyeliner, these 2 mascara has been high on my repurchasing list ever since I started using them. I love them both equally, so I alternate between tubes. They make my Asian lashes looks longer and more luscious. MAJOR LOVE. I have previously raved about the Dolly Wink mascara HERE

Etude House Vivid Popstick: My name is Adeline and I am a lipstick addict. Especially the bright, bold ones. (Heck, even wrote a post to talk about my favourite bar with lipsticks :P) and orange is one of my favourite especially in summer (which is now, sadly, over.)! Not that I need an additional lipstick to my orange family but this lip-stick (see what I did there) is extremely pigmented, matte finish and stays on longer than my Body Shop Colour Crush Lipstick, what not to love there??

What not to love, RIGHT?

Have you tried any of the products?
What are the current products YOU love?

A

2014. (A tad late, but better late than never)

Ooops, I did it again.

Last post - 31 December 2013.
None since we have emerged into the new year and we are already 2/3 into the first quarter of 2014.
(How did time flew by THIS quick?!?!)

Dee Why Beach, Sydney, NSW
There was the Christmas - New Year break, the whole back-to-work-new-year-she-bang, me going through (yet another quarter life crisis - having 24792874329 ideas but 0.01 execution. #truestory), swiping right on Tinder hoping to find my Australian Ryan Gosling (which btw, still to no avail if any of you guys are wondering), yours truly feeling absolutely unmotivated and living in the summer bubble.

CCoconutWater
All I wanna do is lay in the beach, toes between sand, drink coconut water, catch some waves and rays - Eat, beach, sleep, repeat. And, train of course.

Homemade vego breakfast, EATTHISBURNTHAT style
And, cook

But HEY, after a 5km swim (and my first olympic pool laps ever) yesterday, I think I have finally accepted that writing is not my calling. I used to enjoy blogging before it became an industry of its own. I used to blog way more frequently where editorial calendar becomes the new diary. I think somewhere along the way of meeting new people (some of which are the top bloggers in Australia), attending different meet ups and conference, I got carried away and thought blogging was the next path I would like to pursue.

I know I crave the freedom lifestyle - where I'm my own boss and I get to work on my own terms and see whatever projects I take on grow like a baby.
Blogging to me, is probably the least risky option compared to the other ideas I have in mind. (From the initial capital outlay to technical knowledge required and human resources required...)
That was probably why I went from a "hobby blogger" to wanting a career from blogging. Or thought I wanted it anyways.

Truth to be told, I think I am more of a number nerd.
 THERE, I SAID IT.
Playing with data and numbers excites me more than letters or writing beautiful phrases.
#truestory

Don't get me wrong.
I enjoy random musings about beauty (and life in general) but not writing writing.
I enjoy the friendships that formed through blogging/ random IG & twitter stalking
(you know who you are :p)
I enjoy the socializing and networking.
I enjoy the excitement to share when I find a cheap & awesome product or I spotted the new Happy Hour spot in Sydneytown filled with men in suits.
I enjoy these little things but not passionate about them to make it a career.

So, I am going to stop focusing on my blog "strategies" and stop making writing a chore. I am going to start focusing on what I enjoy doing and continue doing it. Then perhaps, the updates will be less sporadic :)

Health and fitness on the other hand though, is a different story.
It's something I'm passionate about and talk about all the time.
People often wonder how do I go to work, drink & party up yet still hit the gym and meal prep amongst all these.
 That's because I love it!
Love it so much so that I created a whole new site to talk about it. (EatThisBurnThat.Com is still undergoing identity crisis at the moment but if you wanna find out more on how I went from someone who hates exercise [and bullimic] to someone who loves training, you can check it out HERE)
At the meantime, to get quick tips and updates on all my recipes and meal prep, hop over to FACEBOOK & INSTAGRAM & TWITTER :)

HERE's a sneak peak into my next post (and yes, beauty related) on my next edition of Products I love ;)

XOXO,
A

THROUGH BEAUTY EYES 2013 CHRISTMAS GIFT GUIDE

It's that time of the year to be festive and jolly! Quite possibly my favourite time of the year - summer, family & friends, food & wine, holidays, presents... what not to love?

However, presents can be a tough one sometimes, especially when the market is OVERLOADED with options. And unlike last year, I am slightly early in helping you with your decisions and not get carried away by the shiny christmas packs. :P Skin Care, Body Care, Candles, Make Up OR Nails, got you all covered.

So, to make things a little easier for you girls, I have either "BFF" or/and "Mum" badge on each Christmas pack.

BFF: it could be for your best friend, sister, cousin... pretty much anyone that you have a pretty good understanding of and is around the same age as you are.

Mum: Pretty self-explanatory isn't it?

:+:+:+:+:+:+:+:+:+:+:+:+:+:+:+:+:

The Jojoba Company Limited Edition Christmas Starter Pack (RRP $59.95): The Jojoba Company products are suitable for all skin type and all ages so this is a pretty fail proof pressie for a friend who is new to the skincare world. It helps fight everything from ageing to acne, nappy rash and eczema. Tried and tested by yours truly, I can definitely vouch for them. :) The Pure Jojoba Oil  has saved my life when I was going through a bad phase of rashes/ eczema. It's pretty much the only product that doesn't sting when applied.

This certified organic brand by our dear Jamie Durie is one of the newer players in the market but has already established a pretty strong name for themselves since launch. This would definitely be a winner for that girlfriend of yours who only use certified organic products.

PFP Nuture From Nature (RRP $49.95): Consisting of (white tea, aloe, witch & hazel) cleanser & make up remover, (rose, otto, burdock, kakadu &; plum) mist toner and (rosehip, gingko & shea) Day Cream, this pack would definitely be a winner for that girlfriend of yours who only use certified organic products.

PFP Organic Shea Nourishing Pack (RRP $24.95): The ideal care kit for the cold weather with a 150mL Gingko, coconut & shea Body Cream and a Manuka honey shea organic Lip Balm. Have a girlfriend that is going for a holiday in the Northern Hemisphere soon? Perfecto. If not, it is never too early to stock up for winter. ;)

Jurlique Herbal Recovery Christmas Pack (RRP$199) : The products from this range are light on the face but made of potent botanicals and antioxidants to help smooth fine lines and leave you with a fresh & revitalized skin. In a mood to spoil your loved ones? This is the pack to go for (or the Age Defying Essentials for some anti-aging care)

Jurlique Purely Age-Defying Essentials Christmas Pack (RRP $168.99) - After all the years of hard work and care your mum had for you, I think she deserves to be spoilt. What's better than this pack of goodies consisting of higher performance anti-aging botanicals which helps to smooth wrinkles and even skin tone? Your mum will definitely appreciate the fact that she will look 20 years younger in no time. :P

L'occitane Romantic Rose Collection (RRP $110): Another favourite of mine from L'occitane, which combines four different type of roses to give you the ultimate romantic scent! This collection includes EDT, Bath Soap. Bath & Shower Gel, Hand Cream, Body Milk and a Perfumed Sachet. Full pampering session = sorted.

LUSH Christmas Pack: A christmas is NOT christmas without Snow Fairy. #truestory As expected, Christmas time means a vast variety of Christmas gift guides combining a range of different scent and shapes. Try not to go crazy in the store and ended up filling up your own stocking with all the LUSH goodies instead ;) No prizes for those who guessed what my favourite Gift Pack from LUSH is :P Celebrate this jolly season with some #crueltyfreechristmas LUSH products!

Jurlique Limited Edition Sugared Spice (RRP $35.00): A warm scent of brown sugar, vanilla, cinnamon and a gorgeous blend of sugared fruits preserves made from strawberry, cherry, apple, plum, raspberry and a touch of citrus - THE winning combination for a bedside candle. I have yet to burn mine and I am already in love with the scent, can't imagine what my room will smell like when I could finally be bothered to repurchase a lighter. This would make a great gift for someone who enjoys a good and relaxing pampering sesh.

Molton Brown Frankincense & Allspice Trio (Hand wash & Hand Lotion - RRP $39 each; Single Wick Candle - RRP $85): Molton Brown simply shouts sophistication, elegance and luxury, This is a pretty awesome way to trick your mum/ girlfriend that they are living in a historic, 1800s English castle. ;)  Unlike Sugared Spice, I personally think this is more of a lounge room/ main area kinda scent. You could either buy them as an individual gift or make it a trio gift pack - brownie points for extra options!

The Body Shop Honeymania collection (Bubble Bath Melt - RRP $24.95; Body Scrub - RRP $27.95; Shower Gel - RRP $12.95): Big fan of the honey scent? This is the collection for you - perfect gift for someone who prefers a more subtle scent.

Napoleon Perdis Imperial Collection (RRP $89): " The Imperial Collection captures regal elegance with a necessary hint of drama" - NAPOLEON | With four gorgeous shade of eyeshadows and lip colours AND the classy gold nail polish, the looks to be created from this collection is endless.

Napoleon Perdis Limited Edition Empress Eyeshadow Palette (RRP $79): This palette consisting 12 beautiful eye colours has become a permanent fixture in my handbag as it is perfect for touch up and giving you the option to change or intensify your look from day to night.

Mary Kay At Play Collection box: This is a custom-made giftbox consisting of 4 At Play Baked Eyed Trios and 2 of the At Play Jelly lipgloss. How cute is the box?!? I love a good Christmas gift box that comes with a range of different make up from eyes to cheeks to lips as that's the best way to experiment a range of new products! The only downside about Mary Kay products is you would need to look for a "beauty consultant" before you could order them.

Models Prefer Nail Emanel Christmas Pack (RRP $20): This is a no brainer gift if your friend has the habit of looking up #nailporn and #instanail before she kickstarts her day. At $20 for EIGHTEEN nail polishes, I can almost guarantee you that you will get a massive hug & even kisses on your cheeks when this present makes its way out of the wrapper.

These are gift ideas for your loved ones (read: more than just an acquaintance or drinking buddy) as these presents are pretty personal. You will need a petty good understanding of their skin type, favourite scent and what not...
Stay tune for the next Gift Guide edition: stocking fillers and Kris Kringle present ideas. ;)

:+:+:+:+:+:+:+:+:+:+:+:+:+:+:+:+:

LAST BUT NOT LEAST, it ain't Christmas without some giving right?
Thanks to the lovely Lesley from L'occitane, I have a few gift packs to giveaway to 3 lucky readers/ followers of mine.
