PRODUCTS I LOVE #4 (Haul from M'sia/ SG)

It's been a while since I my last #ProductsILove edition and its time to share a few of my new (and old) love. These are the products that I (re)purchased during my (not so) recent trip back to Malaysia/ Singapore. So, its kinda a combination of fav products AND haul. :P

Essential Nuance Airy Hair Mask: BEST hair mask ever and it only costs approximately AUD10 a pop! Stumbled upon my first tub whilst I was in Singapore as I left my conditioner at home and fell in love since! I even got a friend who was in Thailand at that time to grab me 2 extra tubs as they don't sell it in Malaysia! I use this hair mask every 2-3 days and it leaves my hair super soft, shiny AND bouncy!
I have seen them around random Asian cosmetic store in Chinatown but you get grab them from Sasa.Com (free shipping over $75!).

NYX Blush in Mocha: Got this from Sephora, Malaysia (yes they stock up NYX products there!). This was one of the very first products that I have heard a lot about when Youtube tutorials weren't quite a thing yet. This is the perfect neutral shade that gives you a healthy glow. And this is quite pigmented to so a little go a long way! Mocha has been my to-go-to blush all summer!

Maybelline SO Nude By Colour Sensational Lipstick in NU32S: This is the ideal coral shade for everyday wear - just the right amount of colour, pigmentation and shine and not too OTT. I got this in while I was in Malaysia - not sure if they will be available in Australia anytime soon (or ever) though.

Dolly Wink Liquid Eyeliner: THE eyeliner that gives me the perfect flick/ cat eye in less than 30 seconds, dry almost instantly and long lasting. I have gone through at least 8 of these over the past 2 years. HG status in my books when it comes to liquid eyeliner.

Dolly Wink and Kiss Me Heroine Volume Mascara: Just like the Dolly Wink Liquid Eyeliner, these 2 mascara has been high on my repurchasing list ever since I started using them. I love them both equally, so I alternate between tubes. They make my Asian lashes looks longer and more luscious. MAJOR LOVE. I have previously raved about the Dolly Wink mascara HERE

Etude House Vivid Popstick: My name is Adeline and I am a lipstick addict. Especially the bright, bold ones. (Heck, even wrote a post to talk about my favourite bar with lipsticks :P) and orange is one of my favourite especially in summer (which is now, sadly, over.)! Not that I need an additional lipstick to my orange family but this lip-stick (see what I did there) is extremely pigmented, matte finish and stays on longer than my Body Shop Colour Crush Lipstick, what not to love there??

What not to love, RIGHT?

Have you tried any of the products?
What are the current products YOU love?

XOXO,
A

FOTD - Molten Gold Smokey Eyes

Whaddup ladies?

Hope you are all well. I am surviving Day 02 of my Schkinny Mainny Detox Program at the moment. I was meant to do a 5 days cleanse program but realised it's way too intense and changed it to 3 days cleanse program and a 2 days Juice-till-dinner program. I will write more about it in the next post or two. So stay tune if you are looking to have a good cleanse of your body after all the winter food you have pumped in all winter.

Definitely not looking forward to Day 03, especially with the 8am start tomorrow! Not when its freezing cold and wet in Sydney. #dreadful

Anyhoos,

Just a quick FOTD post to keep my blogging streak going before dying off again as I have an assignment due on the 1st of August. Boohoo!

This was the look I had during my End of Financial Year party which was held on the 1 July 2011 (another strong evidence of how backlogged I am =.=")

Instead of the usual browns and bronzes, I stepped out of the comfort zone a little, not too far  though as I am still working in a professional environment and using "creative" as an excuse for bold and over the top make up doesn't seem to quite work and replaced it with this molten gold eyeshadow from Shu Uemura.

More photos and products details after the jump. :)

REVIEW & FOTD : Face of Australia Mineral Foundation Review and Au Naturale FOTD

Remember my Introduction to Face of Australia post a couple of weeks ago?
I have been trying out their products since then. Reviews and more FOTDs using these products will be coming shortly.  :)

And the product I will be talking about today is:

Face of Australia claims that it delivers flawless coverage and a healthy boost of minerals to the complexion. They also claim that it won't clog pores or irritate skin.

It comes with a build in brush but I like using the ELF Powder Blush (which is awesome btw) to apply it all over my face before applying oncealer on my undereye. I then set it with Face of Australia Translucent Loose Powder after applying my contouring products. :)

My thoughts on this products after testing it out for 3 weeks :
(Please note that I did not wear them daily and I did use other face products in between.)

* Flawless Finish
* Light to Medium Coverage
* Long Lasting
* Affordable

As you can tell from the photo above, it gives a pretty flawless finish. In terms of coverage, it is light to medium as my freckles are still visible but I think it's the same with most mineral foundation. I am cool with that as I don't like full and thick coverage. So, this is the perfect face product to use during weekends when you want to take a break from your usual foundation routine and give your skin some space to breathe. I started to wear this to work last week and it did last all day without a primer.
Do keep in mind though, I have really dry skin and it's comparable to Sahara Desert now that the weather is getting colder here in Sydney.

Retailing at $16.95, it's extremely affordable to those of you who want to try out mineral foundation but do not want to put too much stress on your wallet. :) And the quality is pretty good for the price you pay.

On my FACE
Garnier Anti Dark Circles Roll On in Light
Face of Australia Mineral Therapy Foundation
Face of Australia Translucent Loose Powder
Face of Australia Pressed Bronzer
Canmake Blush in NW 25
Illamasqua Powdered Metal in Ether

On my EYES
ELF Eyeshadow Primer
Illamasqua Powdered Metal in Ether (as all over the lid colour)
Etude House Darling Petite Shadow in Cafe Latte (Outer crease colour)
Face of Australia Liquid Eyeliner in Black
Wet & Wild Colour Icon Eyeliner in Turquoise
Shu Uemura Eyebrow Pencil in Hard
Maybelline Hello Kitty Extreme Volume Mascara

On my LIPS
Illamasqua Lipstick in Wanton
(this GORGEOUS matte berry pink lippie that I bought during the Sydney Beauty Blogger Yum Cha and Beauty Swap Meet Up. Definitely one of my current favourites along with Rimmel Lasting Finish Lipstick in Guestlist!)

This is definitely my favourite bludgy, Sunday combination - minimum make up with a bolder lip colour to brighten up the look. You don't have to compromise looking good to let your skin breathe! All you need is to pick the right products. :)

Do you wear less make up and let your skin breathe during the weekends?
What's your favourite combination to achieve the "no make up" natural look?

All Face of Australia products and Illamasqua Powdered Metal in Ether were provided to me for consideration. However, all opinions expressed are 100% honest and I am not paid for this post.

Don't forget to enter my GIVEAWAY! :)

Good day!  It has been a week since my last post. My apologies. The last week has been really busy at work and my CA focus session and seminar. It was such a shame that I couldn't attend Alpha H Beauty Blogger Breakfast Event on Thursday as I couldn't take time off work. Life of an accountant much?

FOTW - Working Series / Wet & Wild Series - Peachy Vanity

HELLO!!! :)

How's going everyone? I have finally handed in my assignment yesterday and am free from CA for a while before full force nerding starts for my finals. =.="  But it's good to be back! :) I spent all of last night taking photos and watermarking them, which took ages btw! So, do expect a series of updates in the next few days!

This is just a quick FOTW - Working Series post before I get ready to work.

This also fits in as part of the Wet&Wild Series as I used both the Wet&Wild Color Icon Palette in Greed and Vanity to create this look. No prizes for those who guessed these are my favourites of all time! :P

(It was probably taken on a Monday, hence the "sulking" pose. LOL)

I know, I know. Most of my FOTW-Working series looks are always revolving around browns and peaches. They are almost fail proof and easy to match but I have been trying to venture out of my comfort zone and incorporate more autumn-ish colours like plum and olive green. :P

What are your favourite combinations for work/school make up?

XOXO,
A

FOTD ft Illamasqua Atomic and Delirium

Hey lovelies!!!

Hope you guys are enjoying the weekend, unlike me hermit-ing at home trying to finish off my CA assignment while the weather is gorgeous as this weekend - perfect to tan myself before autumn's weather really hits. But yeh, assignment ain't going well and I have been stuffing my face with junk food. Time to pull my socks up and nail the assignment as well as working those weekend fats off at the gym.

On a side note, unless you're completely ignorant and oblivious to the world's affairs, you would of known that Japan was hit by one of the worst earthquakes in history, which then triggered tsunami and now, nuclear plant blast. My prayers to the Japanese! I hope you will see your silver lining soon!

For today's FOTD, I used both Illamasqua Cream Pigment in Delirium and Illamasqua Atomic Lipstick that I received during Illamasqua Toxic Nature Preview last week when I had brunch with a girlfriend last Sunday.

Cream Pigment in Delirium

Atomic Lipstick

Delirium over ELF Eyelid primer - such a gorgeous lilac colour which works perfectly as a single all over the lid colour if you're not feeling to adventurous that day. :)

Instead of the usual browns, I used Delirium all over the lid.

Also, I chose a purple eyeliner instead of my usual black to match the lilac colour. :)

On my EYES
ELF Eyelid Primer
Illamasqua Cream Pigment Delirium
Milani Single Eyeshadow in Golden Bronze
Etude House Single Eyeshadow (in white?)
Wet & Wild Gel Eyeliner in Eggplant
Maybelline Volume Express Hello Kitty Mascara
Shu Uemura Eyebrow Pencil in Hard
Circle Lenses (sponsored by MUKUCHU)

A quick step-by-step guide on how I achieved this look. :) *click for larger image*

On my FACE
  Benefit Some-Kind-Of-Gorgeous Foundation Fake
Garnier Anti Dark-Circles Roll On in Light
MAC MSF in Medium
MAC Wonder Woman MSF in Golden Lariat

On my LIPS
Illamasqua Atomic Lipstick (From Toxic Nature)

This is how my skin tone gonna be like in another couple of months. :(

I wasn't planning to wear such a bold coloured lipstick, especially with the lilac neutral eyes but Atomic was screaming for my attention. :P

I am loving the Atomic + Delirium combination. :)
What about you?

That's yours truly sulking for having to stay in all weekend (in this gorgeous weather, may I add) to finish off my assignment.

What do you think of the latest Illamasqua Toxic Nature collection, especially Illamasqua Cream Pigment in Delirium and Illamasqua Atomic Lipstick
Are you lemming for any products?

XOXO,
A

Fridays FOTD ft Circle Lenses & Falsies

This FOTD was "previewed" in my Illamasqua Toxic Nature post *click if you haven't read it!*, which is pretty much my "Fridays FOTD" too.

For those of you who follow me on twitter would have probably known that Friday nights usually made up of after work drinks and out and about after. And being the old lady I am, partying-two-nights-in-row is no longer in my books. =.=" In another words, less opportunities to create dramatic looks now that I seldom go out on Saturdays. Hence, I try to be a little more "creative" on Fridays.

By more "creative", I simply mean wearing :

"natural" looking falsies

AND

Circle Lenses
(sponsored by MUKUCHU!)

Am currently loving these lenses as they are not overly dramatic like the violet ones that I own but it makes my eyes look more "energised". Such a shame they aren't toric lenses though, or else I would of wear them everyday.

One of the more "natural" falsies that I own - "number 21" by Model 21.
I have been wearing this model for the past couple of weeks cos they are SUPER comfy and it doesn't look super dramatic but definitely open up my syes. Love it!

On my EYES
ELF Eyeshadow Primer
MAC Rubenesque Paint Pot
Smog from UD Naked Palette (as all over the lid colour)
Hustle from UD Naked Palette (outer crease)
Creep from UD Naked Palette (Outer V)
Dark Horse from UD Naked Palette (Lower lash line)
Virgin (Browbone highlight)
Wet & Wild Gel Eyeliner in Black
Maybelline Hello Kitty Volume Mascara
Shu Uemura Eyebrow Pencil in Hard

On my FACE
Etude House Magic BB Cream
Garnier Anti Dark Circles Roll On in Light
MAC Wonder Woman MSF in Golden Lariat

On my LIPS
Max Factor Xperience Sheer Gloss Balm in Rose Quartz

I am loving Max Factor's new Xperience Sheer Gloss Balm as it is super moisturising and it's tinted! Perfect for my super dry lips!

The key to the perfect smokey eyes is BLENDING. All you need is blend away the harsh line to get a smooth transition of colours and you're good to go. :)

Slightly more dramatic than my usual working make up but still appropriate for work and not too over the top. :)

Is this something you would wear to work or is it too much for your personal liking?

Do you create a slightly more "dramatic" look on Fridays too?

Hope you're having a great week so far! It's Thursday tomorrow!!!! (Read: Friday Eve LOL)

XOXO,
A

FOTD - GREEN PRIDE ft Wet & Wild Colour Icon Palette

Goodday! :)

How's everyone weekend so far?

I had a relaxing Saturday catching up with my bestie before she flew off to Singapore (I miss her already!) and sun baking at Bondi Beach all day. Not to mention, stuffing my face with so much food with the little one, it's not funny! I really need to stop throwing all my Monday-Thursday-gym-effort down the drain over the weekend - drinks and late night KFC on Friday and overly food indulgence on Saturday/Sunday. I always feel fat on Mondays. True story. =.="

I am so glad that I got most of my tan back yesterday :) I have mixed feelings about summer coming to an end (how did 3 months fly pass without me even noticing?) and autumn coming up soon. Whilst the scorching hot weather drives me up the walls sometimes, I love my tan and I don't want to go back to pasty white Adeline. Cool, chilly weather on the other hand, makes sleeping at night much easier though!.

ANYHOOS, digression aside
( I realised I tend to explain too much at the start of every post. =.=")

For those who follow my blog/ twitter would of probably known that I usually go out on Fridays after work and barely go out on Saturdays anymore. I am too old for continuous partying throughout the weekend. =.=" That explains the lack of interesting and non-neutrals FOTD as of late. Because really, I don't think it's that appropriate to wear OTT eye make up to work, especially in a corporate environment. However, I do put on my circle lenses and natural falsies on Friday though. :)

The bestie, C was back from Singapore for a week and of course, reviving those good ol' days together was definitely on the books! Despite being tired as from a sporadic but hectic night before and the shitty weather (think: raining and wet), that doesn't stop me from dolling up for the girls dinner and some catch up drinks after.

It has been a LONG time since I last created an "special night out" look. Speaking about being boring... =.="

Greenish - Blue look using the Wet & Wild Colour Icon Palette in Pride I got from my swap with Gwen (which I know, I am yet to blog about. =.=") and 2 different Model21 falsies to create a more dramatic effect!

ON MY EYES

ELF Eyeshadow Primer
Illamasqua Liquid Metal in Solstice
Matte Green from Wet & Wild Colour Icon Palette in Pride (all over the lid colour)
Shimmer Blue from Wet & Wild Colour Palette in Pride (Outer Crease)
Shimmer Green from Wet & Wild Colour Palette in Pride (Inner Crease)
Shimmer Black from Wet & Wild Colour Palette in Greed (Outer V)
Matte White from Wet & Wild Colour Palette in Pride (Browbone)
Wet & Wild Gel Eyeliner in Black
Urban Decay 24/7 Glide On Pencil in Zero (Tightline my lower lash line)
Urban Decay 24/7 Glide On Pencil in Flipside (Lower lash line)
Maybelline Volume Express Hello Kitty Mascara

I am wearing Super Nude Lenses in Violet sponsored by MUKUCHU.

On my FACE

Etude House Magic BB Cream
Revlon Photoready Foundation in Natural Beige
MAC MSF in Medium
Milani Sunset Duo in Sunset City
MAC MSF Blush in Stereo Rose
MAC MSF Blush in Candlelight

On my LIPS
I had nothing on my lips while taking these photos but I was wearing this look with MAC Lipstick in Jazzed that night. :)

Looking hot in the straw hat LOL

You don't need an arsenal of expensive make up to create this look. Most of the products I used are drugstore products and are fairly affordable. For the higher end ones, you can always find a dup or substitute it with something similar.

Milani Liquif'eye Metallic Eyeliner pencils are awesome dups for the Urban Decay 24/7 Glide On Pencils. :)
Rimmel Lasting Finish Lipstick in Crush is a pretty coral lipstick to replace MAC Lipstick in Jazzed too.

I really LOVE all the Wet & Wild Colour Icon Palettes I got! Extremely good quality for the price you pay! I will do a detailed review soon, and probably a Wet & Wild - FOTDs - series. :P

Have you guys tried any of Wet & Wild products?
Are you a big fan of their products??

I hope you guys enjoyed this FOTD, something different from my usual fail proof neutrals FOTDs. :)
Yours truly is off to hit the books right now ( extremely sad I know, but what gotta be done needs to be done. BOO!)

XOXO,
A
