FOTD & TIPS: The Glasses Make Up ft Jane Iredale Lips Fixation in Passion

Had a long and epic weekend and find it a little hard to put on your contact lenses on a Monday morning? Remember, just because you need to rock those glasses on a Monday, doesn't mean you have to look any less gorgeous than any other day. :)

There's always the glasses make up look! Can't make your eyes pop? Go for a bold, bright lips!

Here's my take on the glasses make up look and some tips for you:

Simple eye-make up but enough to pop behind those frames and bright, chilli red lips.

 My favourite Ray Bans :)

Neutral lid - champagne coloured lids and a hint of dark olive outer corner for some dimension.

A slight twist from my usuals - double-winged liner with bright silver liner in between

On my EYES
Urban Decay Primer Potion
MAC Paint Pot in Bare Study
NVEY ECO Eyeshadow Palette
Maybelline Hyper Sharp Liner in Black
Shu Uemura Shimmer Eyeliner in Commet Silver
Milani Liquif'eye Metallic Eyeliner Pencil in Black
Kiss Me Heroine Volume & Curl Mascara
 Rimmel Eyebrow Pencil in Hazelnut

On my FACE
Rimmel Wake Me Up Foundation in Soft Beige (foundation)
Maybelline Instant Age Rewind Eraser Treatment Make Up
Rimmel Wake Me Up Foundation in Ivory (as highlighter)
Flomar Terracotta Blush On
Hello Kitty Compact Powder in Pashmina Amber (as bronzer)
Australis Ready Set Go Finishing Powder

Jane Iredale Lips Fixation in Passion
On my LIPS
Jane Iredale Lips Fixation in Passion
(a GORGEOUS lip stain with great pigmentation)

 The completed look without glasses.

Can't leave the house without your Ray Bans or Dior glasses today?

Just a few simple tips to keep in mind:

- Neutral eyes
- Double-winged liner with bright silver liner in between
- Cool-toned/ subtle baby pink cheeks
- Bright chilli-red lips

AND, you're good to go!!!

Do you wear make up when you wear glasses?
Let me know your fav glasses make up look!
Is the framed glasses + bright chilli-red lips your cup of tea?

Wet & Wild FOTD Series - Purple Smokey Eyes

Good day!  It has been a week since my last post. My apologies. The last week has been really busy at work and my CA focus session and seminar. It was such a shame that I couldn't attend Alpha H Beauty Blogger Breakfast Event on Thursday as I couldn't take time off work. Life of an accountant much?

ANYWAYS,

here is another FOTD for the Wet & Wild Series from the Sydney Beauty Bloggers Yumcha and Beauty Swap I attended last Saturday.

FOTW - Working Series / Wet & Wild Series - Peachy Vanity

HELLO!!! :)

How's going everyone? I have finally handed in my assignment yesterday and am free from CA for a while before full force nerding starts for my finals. =.="  But it's good to be back! :) I spent all of last night taking photos and watermarking them, which took ages btw! So, do expect a series of updates in the next few days!

This is just a quick FOTW - Working Series post before I get ready to work.

This also fits in as part of the Wet&Wild Series as I used both the Wet&Wild Color Icon Palette in Greed and Vanity to create this look. No prizes for those who guessed these are my favourites of all time! :P

(It was probably taken on a Monday, hence the "sulking" pose. LOL)

I know, I know. Most of my FOTW-Working series looks are always revolving around browns and peaches. They are almost fail proof and easy to match but I have been trying to venture out of my comfort zone and incorporate more autumn-ish colours like plum and olive green. :P

What are your favourite combinations for work/school make up?

XOXO,
A

FOTW - WORKING SERIES #5 - PLAY ON DRUM

WHADDUP EVERYBODYYYY?

Hope you are having a great week so far. This week has been exceptionally slow for me for some reasons but I am glad its FINALLY FRIDAY and its Casual Friday! *YAY* This weekend is gonna be a hardcore cramming session for me though, which is kinda bummer now that Sydney's weather is perfect! Can't wait till my CFA exam is over then it's summer party time babyyyyyy!!! <3

I have been rather lazy this week and creativity is the last thing in my mind this week. Instead of my baby Naked Palette, I have been using my MAC Mineralized Eyeshadow in Play on Drum from Claire's Love Package. =P

Look at how pigmented the colours are! And the best thing about this look is, I only use 2 colours (excluding highlight) and it looks like I have put in heaps of effort when it takes less than 5 minutes! :)

Such a perfect spring/summer colour too!

On my EYES
ELF Mineral Eyeshadow Primer
MAC Coral Crepe Paint Pot
MAC Mineralized Eyeshadow in Play on Drum
NYX Nude Eyeshadow as highlight
Rimmel Eyebrow Pencil in Hazelnut
Maybelline Eyestudio Lasting Drama Eyeliner
Milani Liquif'eye Metallic Eyeliner Pencil in Brown
Loreal Voluminous Curved Brush Mascara in Black

What I did was using the copperish brown colour as all over the lid colour and wing it out a lil using my flat eyeshadow brush. Then I use the peachy coloured eyeshadow with gold specks in it to blend away the harsh edges up to my crease area.

Also, my eyeshadows seldom crease and I barely use primer before this. But I have been using primer with creme shadow/paint pot lately because I hit the gym after work these days. Creased eye make up is not exactly what I want after a strenuous work out and I cbf remove them.

My current spring/summer favourite blush :
Maybelline Mineral Powder Naturally Luminous Blush in True Peach
Look at the pretty glow it gives and I was surprised with the awesome pigmentation considering that this is a mineral powder blush.

On my FACE
Cancer Council Australia Tinted Moisturizer in Light Cream (Review coming soon! :P)
Rimmel Stay Matte Pressed Powder in Silky Beige
Garnier Anti Dark Circles Roll On in light
Maybelline Mineral Powder Naturally Luminous Blush in True Peach
Illamasqua Powdered Metal in Ether (as highlight)
Milani Sunset Duo in Sunset City (bronzer for contouring)

On my LIPS
MAC Lipstick in Shy Girl

I hate my eyebrows now but there's nothing much I can do about it as I am trying to grow them out so I can get it done professionally!

Perfect easy on-the-go spring look! :)

I have been swapping my BB Cream with tinted moisturizer lately as the weather is getting warmer. For those who don't know, I am one who sweat easily and heaps (GROSS I know). The last thing I want is having a faceful of melting foundation when I am out - NOT.A.GOOD.SIGHT! I am learning to accept my freckles better these days :P

This is how I clip my hair up for work when I don't have them up =P

This is definitely my favourite eyelook atm as it is quick and easy! I did try the smokey-outer V look using the same eyeshadows, which requires a little more work. Stay tune for the next post for it :P

What's your favourite lazy days look?

ALSO,
I have created a Through Beauty Eyes Facebook Page a few days ago when I was procrastinating from studying!

Show some love please <33333

HAPPY THANKSGIVING to those who celebrates it! :)

XOXO,
A

FOTW - WORKING SERIES #4 - THE BRONZE HORSEMAN

Goodday! How was everyone's weekend? Its good to finally have some sunshine in Sydney after a pretty chilly week (for November that is). It was a pretty quiet one for me as I spent my Saturday recovering from a nasty hangover (when I didn't even have that much!) and hit the gym for some good work out session. I think its time to monitor my alcohol intake now that I am frequenting the gym more regularly, and apparently your alcohol tolerance decreases as your body built more muscles. Is it trueeeeeee?

ANYWAYS, I haven't posted any "Naked Palette" FOTD ever since I got that baby and I figured its about time. :)

This was the look I created last week using the naked palette. :)
Since its kinda bronzy and one of the colours I used is called Dark Horse, I decided to use The Bronze Horseman as my title. Don't judge me lol.

I haven't been wearing my circle lenses much lately except for the weekends as you're not supposed to wear them for long hours. And for me, from popping my contacts in the morning, getting ready, a whole day at work and gym after - thats a good 14 hours for me. I am pretty sure its not advisable to wear normal contacts for such long hours (14 hours a day, 5 days a week. You do the math), let alone my circle lenses.

On my EYES
Urban Decay Primer Potion
Urban Decay Naked Palette
- Side Car as all over the lids colour
- Dark Horse as outer corner crease colour
- Naked as inner crease colour
- Hustle as outer V colour
- Virgin as browbone colour
- Maybelline Eyestudio Lasting Drama Eyeliner in Black (Upper Lash Line)
- Urban Decay 24/7 Eye Pencil in Whiskey (Lower Lash Line)
- Rimmel Eyebrow Pencil in Hazelnut
- Maybelline Colossal Waterproof Mascara in Black

On my FACE
Etude House Magic BB Cream
Rimmel Stay Matte Pressed Powder in Silky Beige
NYX Concealer in a Jar in Light
Milani Sunset Duo in Sunset City
Canmake Powder Cheeks Blusher in PW25
MAC MSF in Candlelight

On my LIPS
Cancer Council Australia Lipstick in Soft Pink (which is actually more of a nude colour)

I kinda like how the "messy" hair up do although it did take me quite a while to create this somewhat messy look.

Naked Palette is definitely my new found love!!!
With 12 different neutral colours, you can go creative with your look without having to be afraid of being to OTT. If you're going out after work or school, simply apply a bold lipstick to brighten up your look. :)

Are you a proud owner of the Naked Palette too?
Do share your FOTDs! I'd love to see them :)

XOXO,
A

FOTW - WORKING SERIES #3 : Smoke Jewel

Hey lovelies!

How was Halloween? I hope you guys had a great time dressing up and slutting it out there LOL. Yours truly, on the other hand, just stayed at home and had an imaginary dress up party with my series. *sad* Nar, but really, I really should of organised something with the crew and have an epic dress up party. Oh well, next year... or maybe someone's birthday.

Today's post will be the 3rd post of my FOTW - Working - Series. :) I rediscovered this Elizabeth Arden Travel Palette of mine 2 Saturdays ago, sitting at a lonely corner of my vanity corner. Tried it out for a friend's hot pot dinner and decided that this was going to be my FOTW, swapping the darker lips to a coral coloured lips :)

Mum got me this palette as part of my graduation gifts in March and I have never touched nor tried this out. I wasn't even sure why was this little baby neglected for so long before I finally show her some TLC. It's probably cos I never really associated make up with EA? *shrugZ*

This is how it looks like inside - 4 gorgeous colours with a hint of shimmer in it, a blush and a highlight colour. It also comes with an eyeshadow applicator.

L-R: Jewel, Tulle, Bubbles, Smoke, Pink Mauve, Pink Sand.
They aren't exactly the most pigmented eyeshadow I have owned/used, but the colour pay off is really good. It is really soft and blendable and you don't need much products for the colour to appear.

Simple & Easy Smoked Out Look using the palette above. :)

My EOS Brown Circle Lenses complimented the look pretty well, me thinks. :)

On my EYES
ELF Mineral Eyeshadow Primer
Elizabeth Arden Eyeshadow Palette:
- Smoke (all over the lid colour)
- Jewel (Outer V & Crease colour & over my lower lash line)
- Tulle (Inner crease colour)
- Pink Sand (browbone highlight)
Maybelline Eyestudio Lasting Drama Eyeliner in Black
Milani Liquif'eye Metallic Eyeliner Pencil in Black
Maybelline Colossal Magnum Volume Mascara in Black
ELF Eyebrow Kit in Medium

On my FACE
Etude House Magic BB Cream
Rimmel Hide the Blemishes Concealer in Ivory
Rimmel Stay Matte Pressed Powder
Pink Mauve from EA Palette ( I have swapped this blush with different blushes throughout the week)
Benefit Girl Meets Pearl Liquid Pearl ( I have swapped this with Illamasqua Powdered Metal and MAC MSF in Candlelight throughout the week)

On my LIPS
Elizabeth Arden Exceptional Lipstick in Dessert Rose
( I have been using Rimmel Lasting Finish Lipstick in Crush - this GORGEOUS coral coloured lipstick instead as dessert rose is a lil too dark for work imo).

Rimmel Lasting Finish Lipstick in Crush
(which is KINDA similar to Jazzed. I will do a comparison swatch in the next post or so :P)

Lighting was crap so I had to edit it to make it more presentable =.="

That's how my yucky curly/frizzy hair looks like when I don't straighten it.:( Can't wait to chemically rebond it when I am in Malaysia end of the year.

Cos I am luvo like this :)

Have you guys tried Elizabeth Arden Make Up range before?

XOXO,
A
