SMASHBOX GILS ON FILM SOFTBOX PALETTE 3 in 1 - Swatches, Quick Thoughts, FOTD

Don't you love the triumph feeling or the satisfaction you have when you manage to get hold of something exclusive or limited edition, something along those lines?

Well, I know I do.

(Yes, I am one of those consumers who get sucked into limited edition stuff pretty easily, a tad too easy for my own good.)

If you are a fan of Smashbox and happens to live in this continent that starts with an A and ends with an A, Christmas might have came earlier for you! :)

SMASHBOX brings you the brand NEW and limited edition Girls on Film Colour Collection, exclusive to KIT! This film-worthy collection is inspired by the magic that happens when you capture the perfect shot!

I was lucky enough to be the proud owner of the Girls On Film Softbox Eyeshadow Palette courtesy of EGPR. on the launch day itself, which was Monday, the 24th of October. :)

TOP - L to R: Fizz, Pebble, Minx
BOTTOM - L to R: Vanilla, Ignite, Sienna
All the perfect neutral shades in ONE palette! What more could you ask for? :)

SWATCHES:

Fizz, Pebble, Minx

Vanilla, Ignite, Sienna

QUICK THOUGHTS:

Quick thoughts because I have only used this palette twice this week, hence, unable to provide a detailed review as yet. As you can tell from the swatches above, the colours are pretty pigmented but not the most pigmented eyeshadows I own. Pebble is a purpleish-grey colour, the only matte colour in the palette, which pigmentation is probably the lowest compared to other shimmery/pearly colours. My make up lasted all day and survived an intensive pump class with an eyeshadow primer underneath albeit there was some creasing on my middle lid area. I reckon that's more of my watery eyes issues than the eyeshadows' formula.

FOTD:

Quick FOTD using my brand new Softbox Eyeshadow Palette.

Miss Universe Australia 2011 Welcome Home Party by NudeByNature @ Cherry Bar, The Star

Hey lovelies,

How's goin'? Hope you guys had a great weekend! So glad its hump day again, that means we are a step (or should I say a day) closer to the weekend! =)

You may have recall me woo-ha-ing on twitter over meeting Miss Universe Australia 2011 - Miss Scherri-Lee Brigs at the newly opened Cherry Bar at The Star (formerly known as Star City) a couple of weeks ago.

Taken outside the entrance of The Star upon arrival.
I was lucky enough to be invited to Miss Universe Australia 2011 Welcome Home Party specially organised by Nude by Nature (to introduce her as the new face of Nude by Nature). Special thanks to Polkadot PR for the invite.

Posing outside Cherry Bar - a classy, exquisite bar located just outside the Casino.
Top: ASOS / Tights: Cotton On/ Shoes (not seen): WANTED/ Hair tie: Scunci

Maria from Crashing Red and Cindy from Fashionably Yummy
I had a great time with the girls at the event, we were busy grabbing the canape´s off the waitress every 5 minutes LOL, snapping photos like no one is watching and tweeting like a #RealTwitterAddict. We should definitely catch up some time soon!

With Nicole, one of the make up artists, trying out Nude by Nature Mineral Cover Foundation and their Mineral Bronzer prior to the arrival of Scherri-Lee.

wide range of products offered by Nude By Nature.

How can I miss posing at the bar, with the (not-so-cute) bartender making my drinks? =P

Makers Mark, my next favourite after CC & Dry
(If you haven't tried CC & Dry, you HAVE to try it. Simply ask for Canadian Club Dry with Fresh Lime and you are welcome :D)

* I think I had about 5 of those that night LOL*

:+:+:+:+:+:+:+:+:+:+:+:+:+:+:+:+:+:+:+:+:+:+:+:+:

You know what's the best thing to kill time?
(Besides chomping down those delicious noms of course)

It's non other than the good ol' camwhore session. =)

Here are a "couple" (I like being conservative LOL) shots that we took to keep ourselves entertained while waiting for Scherri-Lee's arrival:

*LOVE* this photo of us <3
Marusya and I with our drinks. :)

Another shot with the gorgeous girls <3

Joanna (Another MUA), Cindy, Nicole & Maria :)

After heaps of eating, chatting, camwhoring and drinking later, Miss Scherri-Lee has finally grant Cherry Bar with her presence.

The new face of Nude By Nature - Miss Scherri-Lee Biggs, which I gotta say looks way better in real life, and not to mentioned she is heaps sweet too.

Yours truly with Miss Biggs herself
Scherri-Lee was really down-to-earth and we all managed to squeeze in a 5 minutes convo with the beauty in the midst of swapping turns to have our photos taken with Scherri-Lee. :)

Marusya, Joanna, Cindy & I
A final photo before Maria leave, me thinks.

Goodie bag that I got to take home with me! :)

A sneak peak of the goodies received, which shall be reviewed in a later post. :)

I have been trying a few of the products for the past 2 weeks and I am loving it so far. Mineral make up is definitely something I'd love to learn more about and try out this coming summer! I will talk more about Nude by Nature's products once I have given them sufficient "trial time".
So, be sure to stay tune for that my lovely readers!

I most certainly had a great time, especially it was after my Audit exam, which makes the whole experience even more awesome!
I mean, cm'on!

Girls, Makers Mark, Make Up, Miss Universe Australia 2011 - how can it NOT be awesome, you tell me! :P

Have you tried ANY of the Nude by Nature products?
Let me know whether you love it or hate it.
:P

REVIEW & SWATCHES: Ciccone Cosmetics Lipsticks

Today, I will be introducing our good ol' Aussie Brand, Ciccone Cosmetics

In celebrating 10 years in the industry,  Ciccone Cosmetic  release their high coverage, long lasting lipsticks that are inspired by femininity and womanhood, in its new fuchsia and diamante packaging "It's a Bling Thing".

Ciccone Cosmetics lipsticks contain powerful active ingredients such as jojoba oil, evening primrose oil and calendula oil to help moisturise, condition and protect the lips from the elements while vitamin E helps soothe and repair.

I was lucky enough to be sent 4 gorgeous Ciccone Cosmetics lipsticks from Fame PR to try out a couple of months ago.

L-R Voluptas, Oceanus, Cupid, Hera
They are all pretty true to the actual colour except for Oceanus. It appears to be a bright orange in the photo, but it is actually coral IRL.

VOLUPTAS

A poison apple red, which reminds me of Snow White. Definitely the colour to go for a statement lips.

CUPID

A cool pink colour with a slight lilac undertone. This is definitely a colour for the colder days.

OCEANUS

Peachy-coral tone which is also my absolute favourite of the lot! I have used them in my Spring Is In The Air FOTD and Lavender Smokey Eyes FOTD

HERA

A soft, cool pink colour, which I reckon is pretty similar to Cupid.

SWATCHES:

Clockwise from top left corner: Cupid, Voluptas, Oceanus & Hera
With Flash

Clockwise from top left corner: Cupid, Voluptas, Oceanus & Hera
Without Flash

WHAT I THINK:

I am absolutely IN LOVE with these lippies, especially Oceanus! Definitely my spring/summer favourite! The formula is extremely creamy and glides on my lip like magic. Whilst the formula isn't super drying but lip scrubs and moisturising is advised prior to applying these babies. It is super pigmented too, as you can probably already tell from the swatches.

Each lippie costs $25, which is pretty reasonable in the Australian market (RRP for MAC lippie is $35 and RRP for Illamasqua lippie is $39), especially for the quality that you get. Definitely worth every penny!

COMPARISON SWATCHES:

I have done a comparison swatches with the lipsticks from my collection, that I had in mind when I first open these pretty lipsticks. I hope it gives you guys a better idea of the colours! :)

I have included both without flash (top shot) and with flash (bottom shot) swatches. So enjoy!

HERA, CUPID & FLOMAR MATTE 35

VOLUPTAS, REVLON TRUE RED & RIMMEL ALARM

COVER GIRL RAPTURE, OCEANUS & MAC SHY GIRL

MAC GO FOR IT, CUPID, ILLAMASQUA CREAM PIGMENT IN DEPRAVITY

FLOMAR MATTE 55, NYX PARIS, HERA, REVLON COLORBURST IN MAUVE

Ciccone Cosmetics lippies is available at Ciccone Cosmetics WebsiteFashion Addict and MYER stores nationwide.
RRP: A$25

Which one is your favourite?

ABBW 2011 - IMATS HAUL feat ILLAMASQUA, INGLOT & CROWN BRUSHES

So, it took me more than * a couple* of days before I am back with a Part 2 of my many Australian Beauty Bloggers Weekend (a.k.a. ABBW2011) posts. Click HERE for the sneak peak of #ABBW2011.

I know I should be more efficient and consistent with posting with the long weekend and all but I spent 2 days sorting the goodie bags out and re-organising my vanity corner as well as snapping photos and BAM it's back to work again. Not to mention, I have just started my third module of my Chartered Accountant Program - 3 hours of focus session after work today. #YUCK, that's right. So, please bare with me while I try to put everything together. :)

I am still in the process of watermarking the photos from the goodies bags (thanks to the SUPER GENEROUS SPONSORS) and writing up on the events, hence, I shall do a "cheating" IMATS haul post. I am glad and proud that I didn't splurge excessively in IMATS although I did go slightly overbudget due to certain "unforeseen" circumstances.

Without further babbling, lets move on to my "mini" IMATS haul:

* ILLAMASQUA Lip Glosses
*ILLAMASQUA Pencil
* 4 X Crown Brushes

(Lip Brush, Smudge Brush, Duo Fibre Brush, Angled Brush)
* 2 X INGLOT Freedom Palette

ILLAMASQUA PENCIL & LIP GLOSSES

Illamasqua was having a massive sales at IMATS and I was kickin' myself for checkin' their stand out too late. I am pretty sure I would have walked out with more than just the above. =P

The Medium Pencils were going for $10 each and I got the 3 Lip Glosses for $35.

What an absolute bargain. =)

From Top to Bottom - Illamasqua Pencil in Bait , Intense Lipgloss Hermetic from the Art of Darkness Collection, Lipgloss in Petulant & Frenzy
I was actually lemming for Hermetic when I attended Illamasqua Art of Darkness launch last year but managed to do my purse a favour as it is too much of a bold colour that I rarely wear. As for Bait, I have been eyeing that baby eversince I saw the gorgeous Frances rockin' it during Illamasqua Masterclass last month

It's definitely good to welcome these babies to my lipgloss collection. =)

Quick swatches of the pencil/ lip glosses:
From Top to Bottom - Illamasqua Pencil in Bait , Intense Lipgloss Hermetic, Lipgloss in Petulant & Frenzy

CROWN BRUSHES

L-R: Smudge Brush, Lip Brush, Duo Fibre Brush, Angled Brush
I  decided to try a few more brushes from Crown as I was pretty satisfied the ones I got during Hair Expo. They were approximately $30 for all 4 brushes if memory serves me right. :)

INGLOT FREEDOM PALETTES

Saving the BEST to the LAST. =)

I knowI know, it is a little pretty crazy buying 18 eye shadows at one go, especially I can't use "Its-for-my-kit" as an excuse. =P In my defence, I have been wanting these palettes for the longest time but have been holding out JUST to wait for the IMATS discount. Cos I am a tight ass like this.

And I gotta admit, it was definitely worth the wait. All INGLOT products were having 30% off and I only paid $148 for all the above.
*hum T-Pain All the Above* #Lame

The "Neutral" Palette

The "Bold/Matte" Palette

Lovin' these palettes so far! The only complaint I have about them is it's a bitch to remove the eyeshadows from the palette as they are all magnetised. Will do a more detailed review/swatch post soon. =)

Mirenesse Eyeshadow & Liquid Eyeliner/ Illamasqua Lipstick in Corrupt/ NYX Powder Blush in Mocha
FOTD posts will also resume shortly!!
I will probably have a few FOTD posts in between my ABBW updates to spice things up a little. :)
So stay tune lovelies!

Did any of you attend IMATS/ ABBW this year? What are your "proud purchases"?
Do share your haul. =)

Happy Hump Day lovelies and have a great week! :)

XOXO,
A
