I have been pretty moody in the past 2 days - If you followed me on twitter, you would of known the little drama of mine in enrolling into next semester CA program (Chartered Accountant, not California LOL) and also, I blame it on the extremely HUMID weather! (But I really shouldn't really be complaining as Sydney is way more fortunate than our neighbour Queensland, which is currently the victim of Mother Nature's wrath - a disastrous flood that had taken 12 lives so far and the worst is yet to come. My prayers with them and hopefully, THIS is the end of the tunnel and Queensland residents will soon see their light. ) Anyhoos, I managed to enroll into CA at the end (and slapped with a $117 late fine) and a positive review from my manager yesterday made my shitty start a MUCH better one. =) Definitely looking forward to Friday drinks with the girls ( and maybe a couple of Double Black at work :D)!
Anyways, I figured you guys must have been bored/sick of my Malaysia - Singapore trip updates, so I will take a break
have a Kit Kat (man, I can be so lame sometimes.) and post some beauty-related update.
I was contacted by Tanya from NAIL ROCK AUSTRALIA a couple of weeks before Christmas and she asked if I would like to review their products. Being one who is unable to leave the house without painted nails, it's an instantaneous yes from yours truly.
NAILROCK designer nail wraps is a unique, market leading product with strong branding and celebrity appeal. Celebs such as Alexa Chung, Katy Perry and Beyonce are taking up the trend and even creating their own exclusive NAILROCK Designs.
Not a fan of spending hours perfecting your nail out?
NAILROCK is an innovative n
" Lasting up to 10 days on nails and 8 weeks on the toes, each at home nail wrapping treatment contains a full set of wraps for fingernails and toes, and takes just 15 minutes to apply. Unlike polish, they won't chip or stain the nail and are quicker to apply as there is no drying time required. "
My package arrived about a week before Christmas, just on time for me to try it out for my Company's Christmas Party on the 23rd.
And my nails matched my leopard printed maxi dress <3
Outfit of the day (Company's Christmas Party)
Maxi Dress from Ally <3
Gladiators from Malaysia
Necklace from Equip
Belt from TEMT
FYI, I am a HUGE fan of animal prints (And no, it's not tacky if you know how to wear it.)
HOW TO APPLY:
- Pick a Nail Rock Wrap nearest to your cuticle size and trim the to fit.
- Gently place the cuticle edge and apply heat from a small or travel hairdryer for a few seconds until the wrap begins to soften.
- Applying firm pressure, push the wrap onto one side of the nail bed. RE-apply heat and repeat on the other side.
- RE-apply heat and push firmly over entire nail for a secure fit or if necessary.
- File off excess wrap at the end of the nail in a downward motion with a fine wooden file.
This is the final product - it looks really nice and I really like the design. But as you can see, some of the edges weren't firmly adhered to my nails.
MY THOUGHTS ON NAIL WRAP:
There's no doubt that Nail Rock offers some of the chic-est, retro, gorgeous nail designs that otherwise cannot be achieved by nail art. However, it took me longer than 15 minutes to get my nails done and that's a pretty long time for me, now that I have discovered the revolutionary Seche Vite top coat. So, that's not really a plus point for me personally. Also, I think it takes too much effort to trim it to my cuticle size and having to keep re-applying heat to secure the nail wrap. And mind only lasted for 5-6 days as it wasn't that secured to start with.
WILL I REPURCHASE IT?
I might for special occasions. For instances, if I have a dress up party or an event to go to or anything that requires nails to be accessories. But it's definitely not something I did use weekly as I mentioned earlier, it takes way too much effort and I am lazy.
If you're into retro designs and you don't change your nail colours every week (or even shorter), you should definitely try these gorgeous nail wraps out!
