HAIR EXPO 2011

So, it was all about the make up yesterday. Today, the post will give you a better insight into Hair Expo 2011 that happened during the long weekend!

Also, by no means I am a hair expert, in fact, I am still an amateur when it comes to hair related stuff.  This was my first time attending Hair Expo and it was definitely a big eye opener and it was way better than expected as they had quite a few beauty stands such as Eco Tools and Napolean Perdis.

A big thank you to Maxted Thomas for the media pass, which provided be access to media lounges (which serves coffee, champers and tarts! <3)! And most importantly, Rae Morris Look & Learn Workshop!  :)

Find out who's my "plus one" for the Hair Expo, more about Original MineralGHD, Moroccan Oil, HEAPS AND HEAPS of photos after the break :)

Please excuse the gross and dishevelled hair. I know, the irony - bad hair day in a Hair Expo =/ It was raining cats and dogs that day, go figure!
Met up with the lovely Tammerly from Pink Diva MUA before heading to Rae Morris Look & Learn Workshop together.:)

Rae Morris demonstrating her awesome skills! I have definitely learnt some valuable tips in the 3 hours workshop, in which I *kinda left* early cos I was starving by the end of it and I have the attention span of a five year old.

One of the many shots of Hair Award nominees - truly talented.

We had to stopped by Original Mineral after Tammerly's rave about how amazing their products are and the best part is, they produce AMMONIA FREE hair dye! I was stoked about it and the first thing that came to my mind was " I CAN FINALLY DYE MY HAIR AGAIN".

Before you go WTF at me and are all puzzled why on earth am I so excited over dying my hair, the last time I had my hair coloured, I had the most terrible allergic reaction EVER! Think swollen, balloon-ed face, my eyes were nearly invisible, ulcers on my scalp... if you're picturing something along the line of an ET or alien, then you're on the right track. That's right, I had to take antihistamine and steroids for 5 days for the swell to go away. I was beyond freaked out then and *kinda* sworn that I would never dye my hair again. But you know.....

Jose, founder of Original Minerals and her beau on the mini runway next to Original Mineral's booth.
The lovely Jose offered me a trial session at Atlantis Hair this Thursday, using the new Original Mineral Liquid CCT hair dye (which is ammonia free of course)! Can't wait to see how it turns out!

I am super keen to try out  Original Mineral products, which I have heard amazing reviews about! It changes the future of your hair, according to Tammerly.:)

Tammerly and I chilling in the GHD lounge while sipping our champers and enjoying the Portuguese Egg Tart. :)
Its great to finally meet Tammerly in person as we kinda knew each other through Twitter. She's as lovely in person as she is on twitter and thanks for keeping me company during Hair Expo! :)

Katy Perry as GHD's ambassador!
The awesome media pass that we both have allow us to have a peak at this special GHD event held for the UK Fame Team. I met Christina from Hair Romance who arrived just in time to join us for the mini hair show. :)

Fabulous hairdo from the GHD UK FAME Team.

A close up of the more unique ones.

I was determined to look for the Moroccan Oil booth after all the hypes in the beauty department on the world wide web! Thank god we managed to locate the booth at quarter to 4, just in time for a test drive. :)

As you can tell from the photo above, the frizzy-ness of my hair has definitely reduced and it looks way softer too! That's after an application of the Moroccan Oil and a quick blow dry.

It's seems to be almost illegal in beauty "laws" to walk out of any trade shows empty handed, isn't it? Here are the babies that gone home with me that day:

I bought 3 Crown Brushes - blending brush, pencil brush and a tapered brush. It costs me $31 for all three of them.

GHD conditioner and shampoo that were included in the giftbag after the FAME show.

A Moroccan Oil gifted by the brand manager for us to try out. :) Can't wait to try this baby out and will definitely have a review on it! Stay tune for that (albeit it probably wouldn't be until a month or two!)

Finally, to wrap up Hair Expo 2011, just a few media shots for your viewing pleasure:

Hope you guys enjoyed all these amazing photos from the Hair Expo 2011. I most certainly had a great time! Like I mentioned above, I am definitely more of a make up kinda girl but it's really intriguing seeing how talented these hairdressers are in creating some of the most outrageous hairstyles!

However, I was a tad disappointed to find out that CloudNineAus did not have a booth as I was really looking forward to finding out what the hype about this new invention was! :( Ah well, there's always a next time!

Did any of you attend Hair Expo 2011?
Have you tried any of the GHD hair products, Moroccan Oil or Original Mineral?

XOXO,
A
