A Little of Everything - I'M Back!

Hey lovelies!

I know, I know. The last time I blogged was 2 weeks ago. *hides face*  This is probably the longest unannounced hiatus I have gone on. I have just been caught up with "what-I-wanna-do-in-life" ie quarter-life-crisis and also my lack of inspiration.

Today's post is going to be another pictures-loaded-post - with an update of whats been happening in the past 2 weeks. I promise, beauty post resumes after this. I have a couple of swatches sitting in my Picasa album, waiting to be shown to the world of beauty. So, stay tune for that!

Without further ado.... let's move on to some pikchasssss! :)

LOVIN' the sun!! I can feel that spring is in the airrrrrrr :)
Sydneysiders were graced with the lovely weather filled with sunshine yesterday after a cold and wet Friday! I had lunch with my sister at Arisun in the city followed by dessert at LNC Dessert House.

Clockwise from top left: Mixed Ramen, Salt and Pepper Silver Fish, Green Tea Snow Flakes and Kimchi
I was in need of some hangover food this morning - yumcha or spicy noodle soup. Ended up eating at Arisun near Darling Harbour. I reckon the one in Strathfield is WAY better.

Mixed Ramen tasted like instant noodles, except it costs 13x more; Salt and Pepper Silver Fish was alright but definitely didn't worth $28. I was stuffed after lunch but cravings not satisfied! I don't think I will be going back Arisun in a very time!

If you followed me on twitter, you would have seen my "live update" during City2Surf. City2Surf is a 14km marathon which takes place in August every year to raise funds for charity. Yes, you saw it right - 14kms.

I have always wanted to take part in City2Surf but never really bitten the bullet. I mean, its 14km not 4km and I know my fitness level in the prior years doesn't help either.

However, I decided to be part of the biggest marathon in Sydney this year 1) I have been to the gym for the past 10 months so my fitness level improved albeit I am still not the fittest and 2) It's about time to suck it up and bite the bullet!

I am glad I did as I enjoyed myself although I felt like I was rolled over by a truck in the next 2 days and was moaning every 2 steps I took. Definitely looking forward to next year and hopefully I will still be as G-ed as now and will actually train to run the entire 14km. We will see. =)

SUPER MARIO!!!

Our very own City 2 Surf pose LOL

Gross hair, make-up-less face
I Made It.. I Made It!
This is definitely the MOST unflattering photo ever posted on Through Beauty Eyes. Dead set. But I thought that it'd be sweet to have a photo of me crossing the finishing line.

I finished the 14km in 2:27 hours, which was 27 minutes over my expected time LOL Well, in my "defence", this is my first time. My aim for next year is under 2hours!

The Girls and I @ Sanctuary Hotel for a cold cider and some schnitty post City2Surf!

Nail of the Week:

Fuchsia Nails with White Crackles

First, apply 2 generous coat of Sally Hansen HD Nail Colour in Digital

VOILAAAA!
Then, apply a layer of white crackles nail polish (I am using China Glaze White Crackles here) and finish it off with a coat of Seche Vite Dry Fast Top Coat.

I will be replying all the comments today (sorry for such a delay!) and probably draft a couple of posts for the week just so Through Beauty Eyes isn't as dead. =)

Hope you lovelies are enjoying your weekend!

Did any of you run the City2Surf? What are you wearing on your nails this week?

XOXO,
A

Sunday Quickie #2

Hi lovelies!!!

It has been a while long time since I last had a Sunday Quickie. And I know, it's almost Tuesday but since I am doing a recap of the happenings of my weekend, I thought I'd classify it under Sunday Quickie series. =)

Friday started off awesome as my gift from Body Shop arrived at work - something I won from their twitter contest a week ago. :)

The Body Shop Limited Edition London Brush Collection Palette
02 A La Mode

I have gently swatched these colours and they are super pigmented! Can't wait to try them out and create some looks using it. =)

Have any of you tried their London Brush range?

Instead of the usual Friday night drinks with my workmates, I had dinner and drinks with my "random" friends - Miss Cindy and Miss Juri!

Why random, one may ask?

Miss Cindy Ngo who blogs at FASHIONABLY YUMMY
Well, we don't exactly belong to any particular groups such as "uni group", "partying group", "work group"... you catch the drift. But I guess you can classify them under "uni casual work group" since thats where I met Cindy and that's when I got closer to Juri.

I knew Juri since first year uni but we have been mere acquaintances and got closer when we worked together 2 years later.

I always have the most random outing with these girls and love how we will never run out of topic despite not meeting up for months. We started off at Coach Bar at GPO Martin Place, and hopped to Bungalow 8 at King St Wharf then to Cohi Bar at Darling Harbour and ended the night with Oporto's Bondi Burger cos I am #healthy like that. #suchafatshit

:+:+:+:+:+:+:+:+:+:+:+:+:+:+:+:+:+:+:+:+:+:+:+:

Endota Spa
I had the opportunity to try the half an hour body massage complimentary of Endota Spa last Saturday and it was truly relaxing! Just exactly what I needed after all the assignment and work stress! :)

More camwhoring pics of my ASOS fuschcia draped blazer featured in THIS post.

MAD LOVE!!! <3

I am praying hard that the weather will warm up towards the end of August as I just got a black dress for a friend's birthday and it would go perfectly well with this draped blazer! Not gonna happen though. :(

Lemon Tart - Le Renaissance Courtyard Cafe @ The Rocks
This lemon tart was absolutely delicious! It has just the right amount of sugar and I definitely enjoy the tingling feeling from the sourness of the lemon. Do keep in mind, it definitely is on the upper end of the sour scale, so it might not be your cup of tea if you're not a fan of sour stuff.

Jasmine Green Tea Macaroons - La Renaissance, Courtyard Cafe @ The Rocks
LOVE IT TOO! I am a huge fan of salted caramel flavoured macaroon but choice were limited that day! No regrets in choosing this though! I love how the desserts from La Renaissance isn't too sweet!

Blogging about in the wee hours is definitely not the wisest thing to do, innit? =.="

Weather on Saturday was absolutely lovely - sitting at the low 20s in the middle of winter, with the abundance of sunshine! So thankful that I didn't have to cooped up at home slaving away for my assignment or studying.

Wendy's Vodka Lemon Lime & my champers @ The Argyle, The Rocks

Bitching Catching up over a glass of champers on a lovely Saturday arvo = what more could I ask for? =)

NOTW - Endota Nail Polishes in Richmond

:+:+:+:+:+:+:+:+:+:+:+:+:+:+:+:+:+:+:+:+:+:+:+:

FOTD using La Glam Cosmetics Balinese Princess. (Review and detailed FOTD post soon!) during the Sydney Beauty Bloggers Casual Meet Up on Sunday!

Knit top - Market City/ Crop pocket shorts - SUPRE
Outfit of the day - I was such a hero to rock my shorts without boots during winter! In my defence, it was fairly warm during the day until later in the arvo when it started raining. =.="

Rings from Lovisa & Equip/ Clutch from Equip

Marc by Marc Jacob Wallet
Yeap! As you can already see, I did go a little crazy with the nail polishes at The Pro Nail Supply Store @ Bankstown. And, so did the other bloggers.

OPI, China Glaze, ORLY, Seche Vite, China Glaze crackles, ESSIE
Pro Nail Supply carries these nail polishes at a more affordable price for us Aussies! You can be the judge yourself. :)

OPI - $12
China Glaze - $6
China Glaze Crackles - $9
ORLY - $7
Essie - $6
Seche Vite Dry Fast Top Coat - $8
Seche Vite Fortified Strengthening - $6
Essie Cuticle Oil - $5

Charcoal Chicken @ Habib, Bankstown
Love the chips with chicken salt and the charcoal chicken! I can understand what the hype is all about when it comes to Habib chicken but I reckon their food is a little on the salty side, especially the tabouli. I mean, is it even meant to be salty at all?

From top to bottom - FLOMAR True Colour Lipstick 35, FLOMAR Terra Blush-On #43, FLOMAR Terra Blush-On #41, FLOMAR Coral Blush Duo
Finally got my hands on some awesome Flomar goodies after hearing all the good reviews from Lilit!
She is having a GIVEAWAY at the moment and is giving away 2 Flomar blushes! What are you waiting for?

A big thank you to Michelle who got this goodies for me when she was at Parra a couple of weeks ago because I seldom (almost never) venture past Lidcombe.

One last thing before signing off.....

So, I entered Grad Solutions Got Balls Photography contest to be in the run to win either an Acer Netbook, a Polaroid Camera and Miss Independent Voucher. As you may already know, I am no longer in uni for a while, I am entering this competition to support my friend who's in charge of this campaign.

It will be greatly appreciated if you girls (or guys, if any) is able to head over to www.facebook.com/GradSolutionsAU, LIKE the PAGE and LIKE THIS PHOTO
Many thanks! ♥

What did you get up to during the weekend? Did any massive haulage?

XOXO,
A

Hi,I am still alive :D

Whaddup everyone?

How's everyone going? It has been a while. Sorry for this short unannounced hiatus. My week was just packed with activities and I could barely find any time to update this little space of mine. But fret not, I have a few post planned for the week or so, so stay tune for more :) I will also reply to all the lovely comments you guys have left :D

This post is going to be a LONG update of what have I been up to in the past 1 week! It's going to pictures heavy and not so much of beauty related stuff.

For those who followed me on twitter would of known that I went for Jason Derulo's concert last Tuesday. I am no longer a concert virgin after 22 years of life! I took over 30 videos at the concert and barely any photos as my good ol' Sony somehow takes better video than photos in the dark! The concert was better expected, although it was JAM PACKED WITH TEENY BOPPERS (a crowd who danced and hyped up for when Tik Tok and Party in the USA is playing but not OMG. Go figure!) I will try to upload a few footage here when my laptop is being less of a bitch!

:+:+:+:+:+:+:+:+:+:+:+:+:+:+:+:+:+:+:+:+:+:+:+:+:+:+:+:+:+:+:+:+:+:+:+:+:+:+:

On Wednesday, instead of running at the Centennial Park for the JP Morgan Corporate Challenge which I signed up for, I attended Nuffnang's Christmas Party @ Bavarian Beer Cafe instead! LOL. So much for being healthy and fit! In my defense, it was raining cats and dogs that arvo!

That explains my somewhat "simple" make up cos I thought I was going to run instead of meeting new people. At least my new Cancer Council Australia Lipstick in Aztec Berry did brighten my otherwise dull look.

Oh hi there, Janice!

Sarah, Jialin and Yours truly (in her awkward pose and YUMMY lychee beer)

Leanne, Mae and Steph.

It was great meeting other bloggers over delicious German beer and bartender. Good to know that other bloggers share the same passion for alcohol too LOL. We should all form our very own Alcoholic Antonymous Meeting. :P Bar tab in Bavarian Beer Cafe also means that my little promise to stay away from alcohol after Melbourne Cup fails.=.="

The rest proceeded to Masuya after the party as there was certainly not enough food but I decided to go home as I live in the hood. Late night on the train + Alcohol in the system isn't the best combination.

On the very same day, I received my love package from the lovely Claire all the way from Singapore!

Here are the generous goodies she sent me! :)

Gypsy Lashes and Darkness Falsies (which I absolute LOVE btw!)

MAC Mineralized Eyeshadow in Play on Plums

Urban Decay Primer Potion sample and Etude House Total Age Repair sample

Kate Gel Eye Shadows!

I. Can't. Wait. To. Try. Them. Goodies! Let me know if you guys want a detailed review on this products :)

ALSO,

Fun Fact : Claire is like my provider and only source of Urban Decay products LOL. I got my oh-so-wonderful Alice in the Wonderland palette from her early this year too!

Due to my constant "OMG Naked Palette on twitter", Claire offered to get one for me and she will send it along with the love package. Thanks so much babe!!!!

I ABSOLUTELY LOVE MY NAKED PALETTE!

Orgasm on a palette!

You have probably seen a zillion swatches from the Naked palette so I will pass with the swatches this time.

Look at how pretty and pigmented these colours are!!!

More FOTDs using the Naked palette soon!!! :)

This is just a random photo of my 10 bucks Wagyu Burger I had for lunch on Friday. I was never really a fan of beef until recently ( I blame it on peer pressure LOL). This juicy, succulent piece of meat is beyond awesome! Beef lover, you should definitely give it a try! Although I could definitely do with more greens in my burger! Balance diet yo, kids!

:+:+:+:+:+:+:+:+:+:+:+:+:+:+:+:+:+:+:+:+:+:+:+:+:+:+:+:+:+:+:+:+:+:+:+:+:+:+:

After a week of rain and more rain, Mother Nature decided to finally share Mister Sunshine with us Sydney Siders with an awesome beach weather on Saturday. I will feel sorry for myself if I stayed at home and not hit the beach!

Bondi Beach
I was actually at Coogee last Saturday but did not take any photos so I decided to use this photo I took a few weeks back when C and I went to Bondi for Sculpture by the Sea. :)

Sun tanning was good although I am still white as a chicken :( and I tried wave catching but the wave was too strong for a noob like me. Ended up swallowing heaps of water *fail*, having sand IN my contacts (had to take it off and wash it with water) *double fail* and had a small scratch on my face *triple fail*. Maybe I should stick with sun bathing. =.="

So, my initial plan was to hang around the beach for 2 hours, then hit the gym for Burlesque Class, head home and get ready for Cindy's birthday dinner. But clearly, I spent much more time at the beach than planned and ended up ditching gym and only had exactly one hour to shower and get ready! I blame it on trackwork and the traffic to Coogee!

Managed to do my make up in 20 minutes and that includes applying falsies.

EOTD using the Darkness falsies from Claire!
Ignored the brows please! I am trying to grow out my brows so I can get it done professionally!

This was taken after I got home in the wee hours and hence no photos of the complete look. :( I even removed my EOS Circle Lenses because I was THAT exhausted after a long day out.
Do comment if you want me to recreate this look with steps or the products used:P

Han Juri & The birthday girl @ Civic Hotel!

Juri & Sarah @ Spice I Am!
Dinner was absolutely divine except the wait was a little too long!

:+:+:+:+:+:+:+:+:+:+:+:+:+:+:+:+:+:+:+:+:+:+:+:+:+:+:+:+:+:+:+:+:+:+:+:+:+:+:

And FINALLY,

NOTW - China Glaze in Goin' My Way?

Phew! This is a pretty long post.It feels like I have just recited half of my life story here! I hope I did not bore you guys with all the babbling, just thought I might provide an update as to why I have been semi-MIA lately.:) I should really update more often instead of cramming everything into one post =.="

How was your week been? Anything interesting?

Happy Monday (Yeh right!) lovelies :P

XOXO,
A
