PRODUCTS I LOVE #3

One of the few things that gets me really excited is discount.

Great discount.

Not your pathetic get $5 rebate for spending $200 (which is a mere 2.5% off btw) or 10% off some low price point items.

Who's with me?

Well, great news to you beauty lovers, my favourite drugstore in town, Priceline (kinda like Walmart in the States but not as cool) will be having 40% off all beauty products today(19 Nov 2013) and tomorrow (20 Nov 2013)!

This Products I Love segment will be a few of my recommendations of products that are “Hot Right Now”, some were provided for trial by the brands and some were purchased but they are all my current FAVs (and a few repurchased item!):

-          Face of Australia Budge Proof Eyeshadows in Violet Rays, Bling Bling & Bronze Sphinx*
I have raved about these eyeshadows in my recent Products I Love: Spring Edition post a while ago and still loving them. They are part of my daily make up routine – colours depending on my mood and weather of the day. Violet Rays is perfect for smokey eyes, Bling Bling for summer-peachy look and Bronze Sphinx for your fail-proof neutral eyes. Click HERE for swatches.

-          Cover Girl & Olay Simply Ageless Concealer in Light
This concealer contains Olay regerist serum and specially-blended pigments to combat dark circles. The creamy consistency, hydrating and lasting formula made this a star product! I bought this about a month ago and have already gone through half a tub of it. The hoarding nature in me is considering buying a backup because you know, I have 10 pair of eyes that need concealing daily. #hoarderproblems

-          Cover Girl Clean Glow Blusher in 100 Roses*
I was sent this blusher about 3 weeks ago and it has become my almost every-day blush since. 100 roses is a natural, warm berry colour which goes perfectly well with my darker skin in the hotter days. I like to pair this with my Nude by Nature Natural Bronzer for the sunkissed look.

-          Face of Australia Carnivale in Summer Lovin (Bright Pink), Mango Slurpee (Orange) and Masquerade (Purple with Glitter Chunks)*

TOP: Summer Lovin; BOTTOM: Mango Slurpee

Remember all those mornings when you wake up only to realise that your freshly painted nails are filled with sheet marks? Well, sheet marks is now a trend with the brand new sandy finish formula for both Summer Lovin and Mango Slurpee.
As for Masquerade, it’s the ideal choice of polish when you are looking for something girly and “loud” with ALL THE GLITTERS!

-          Cover Girl Lip Perfection Jumbo Gloss Balm in 215 (Baby Pink) and 235 (Coral)*
Hotter days = sweaty me = light-weighted products will take preference for day to day wear. I am still very much in love with my bold, pigmented  lipsticks but these Gloss Balms are a better alternative on a scorching, casual day out. Lasting power is amazing and pigmentation is pretty good for a “gloss balm” – not overly sheer as I am not a fan of sheer colour balm. Definitely a summer handbag essential, me thinks.

-          Nude by Nature Mineral Foundation in Medium
My HG mineral foundation - had repurchased this twice, once HERE and another one made in the last Priceline 40% sales. As I have pretty sensitive skin and it goes cray cray on me from time to time, this is probably the only “foundation” that is able to provide decent coverage and doesn’t sting. My everyday face routine involves this + tinted moisturiser or BB cream depending on the coverage I am looking for.

-          Nude by Nature Natural Bronzer
My to – go Summer bronzer. First discovered this in my goodie bag from Miss Universe Australia 2011 Party and had also repurchased this in the last Priceline 40% sales. This colour is a little too dark for winter but perfect for summer. It works best with a huge blush brush that allows you to blend evenly. Don’t use anything to dense as you will probably end up looking like Snooki. :P

-          Face of Australia Eyebrow Kit*
As you can see, the gel part is almost hitting pan. I use this on most days (except lazy days) and its one of the best eyebrow kits in the market. Love that it doesn’t have a hefty price tag for a product of such high quality. WIN. On to my 40% shopping list you go, Mr Eyebrow Kit.

-          Rimmel Eyebrow Pencil in Hazel
This has been my HG Eyebrow pencil before I discovered the Face of Australia Eyebrow Kit. I still use this on a lazy day when I ceebs drawing my brows with a brush and I always have one of these in my makeup bag – just in case any touch up is required.
40% off – definitely stocking up. #GottaStopBeingAHoader

-          Face of Australia Tinted Moisturiser*
I am a huge fan of tinted moisturiser for day-to-day use and selected BB creams (which doesn’t result in me looking like a geisha). For full coverage, I am definitely loyal to my HG foundation  - Illamasqua Skin Base Foundation (as seen HERE and HERE).  Mild coverage, light weight and matching skin tone makes this my daily pick – to be applied before applying the Nude by Nature Mineral Foundation in medium.

-          Australis Curve Eyeliner (not pictured)
With the curve design making flicking achievable, even for amateurs, this is my second favourite eyeliner after my HG Dolly Wink Liquid Liner (which is irreplaceable at the moment). I bought this when I ran out of my Dolly Wink Liquid Liner and was pretty impressed with it. Easy to control, dark and pigmented ( don’t you just hate those liquid liner which aren’t and appears like a grey line when applied?) and the ultra thin brush means that you could control the thickness of your line when applying. Bingo.
To repurchase or not, considering that I still have a backup of my Dolly Wink Liquid Liner?

Hope you're taking advantage of this 40% off on Priceline! However, make sure you don't overspend and be a massive hoarder like me
A little tip: MAKE a list before entering the store before unnecessary damage. :P

Quickie: Priceline Haul & Review

Given that I am pretty time poor as of late and probably will be in the next two months or so, I thought to include a “Quickie” segment into le blog which pretty much encompasses a quick of anything such as quick haul, quick review, quick introduction to new products, quick launch coverage – just anything short and sweet really. This is just to ensure that this little space of mine doesn’t go unattended for too long. *blows dust off my page*

Just thought I’d put it out there, I am very proud of my self control as my Priceline haul can actually make it under the “quickie” department – I mean, how often do you walk into Priceline and come out with almost nothing? Walk into Priceline to get the essential items, stumble upon newly released items on the way to the check out and these items somehow ended in your shopping bag because you “require” them for the blog, under the name of “research”. Sounds familiar? I rest my case. :P

Two of the three products I bought were repurchased items and one was for “research purposes”. ;)

·         Nude By Nature Natural Mineral Cover in Medium (RRP$39.95): This was a repurchased item. I was first introduced to Nude By Nature products when I was given a few samples from the Miss Australia Universe Event last year . It was love at first sight touch. This product is perfect for days where I am going for the au naturale look or during summer days where the heat is too overwhelming that liquid products will melt the instance I leave the house. In fact, I have been using this for almost every day ever since my skin decides to go PMS on me with the random outbreak of hives and rashes on my forehead and left cheek. It is light on the skin yet it provides pretty decent coverage on my “problem” areas to prevent me from looking like a lobster. It only seems right to buy a full size product when my sample size ran out.

·         Loreal Gentle Make Up Remover for Eyes and Lips (RRP $12.95): Another repurchased item in the shopping bag. This is my favourite make up remover of all times and I have gone through countless bottles ever since I started wearing make up. It removes waterproof make up with a swipe (or two for some of the better mascaras). Easy peasy! Best part is, it doesn’t strip the moisture off your face in the process.

·         Maybelline Color Tattoo Eyeshadow in Audacious Asphalt (RRP $11.95) : This little gem here has shot to fame the moment it was released and it is a favourite in the beauty bloggers community. I mean, being a beauty blogger and all, I have to do my research and find out what the hype is all about, right? For a fraction of the price of the MAC paint pots, I would say they are very well worth every penny as they are super pigmented and extremely long-lasting. My make up held up well after a whole day at work (approximately 10 hours) PLUS two extra hours of intensive gym session (which includes excessive sweat excretion). Nuff said. I am definitely keen to try out the other colours from this range but unfortunately, they are quite limited in the land down under.

Have you hauled recently or have you been good with your plastic card? ;)
Have you tried any of the above products? Yay or nay?

XOXO,

Summer Sunday #2 - More haulage from SportsGirl, ModelsPrefer, ZARA, TYPO

What up lovelies?

Hope you guys are having a wonderful weekend. Mine was easy and relaxing - apartment inspection, lunch with W, and more haul at Chatty, in my beloved DAISO and La Senza and Lovely Culture. Yeap, that was *quite a bit*. LOL.

Anyways, I digress

So, this is the second post of my Summer Sunday series in which I talk about any summer related stuff - from haul to tips to must haves to favourites. Today's post is a continuation of the first Summer Sunday post and its one of the many hauls I have been doing lately. #BadAccountant

TYPO - because I am a sucker for cute stationeries and pretty note pad
SPORTSGIRL - Always look through their sale section for some good buys and their new make up line is pretty impressive and affordable too :)
ZARA - Finally gotten something there after its opening a few months ago.
PRICELINE - I should be a VIP member by now, nuff said. :P

*CLICK FOR LARGER IMAGE*
Clockwise from top left - TYPO, SPORTSGIRL PRICELINE, ZARA
TYPO - Raided their sale section (yes, I am a bargain hunter :D) for a "New York" note pad to jot down random thoughts which strike me when I am out and about; a food diary pad and a "Shit-To-Do" To-Do-List pad.

SPORTSGIRL - A white envelope clutch, floral plimsole shoes, lippies and lipgloss.

ZARA - Pink & orangey-peach cardis, which ironically have been put in full use the past couple of weeks considering we are in SUMMER now. =/

PRICELINE -  ModelsPRefer Inky Smokey Eyes Set, REVLON Vanila Soy Candles and SUKIN Aloe Vera Gel.

Since Through Beauty Eyes is predominantly a beauty blog, let's focus on the beauty products from this haul, shall we?

Products I bought in the name of "blog research".

In accounting world, research and development are capitalised over a period of time and shouldn't be expensed. So, there you go, these products are more of an investment than retail therapy expense LOL.

SportsGirl Pout About It Lipstick in Juicy Watermelon (Matte) ($9.99)

SportsGirl Pout About It in Fuchsia Splash (Matte) ($9.99)

Swatches L-R: Juicy Watermelon, Fuchsia Splash and Give Some Lip Liquid Lip Colour in Summer Holiday

ModelsPrefer Inky Smoky Eyes Set ($9.99)

I have tried ModelsPrefer Mineral Eyeshadow DUO and I really love them. ModelsPrefer has been making its name in Priceline the past year and they have really great products at a really affordable price. I will do a more detailed coverage soon on ModelsPrefer products. :)

L-R: Royal, Mystic, Vixen, Haze
As you can tell, the colours are pretty pigmented (with the darker colours more pigmented than the lighter colours) with just one swatch.

With Flash - Royal, Mystic, Vixen, Haze
Without Flash - Royal, Mystic, Vixen, Haze
REVLON Vanilla Scented Soy Candle
RRP is $16.99 but I got it for $9.99 on special @ Priceline.
I have always wanted to try out candles but never really gotten the chance until I saw this on special at Priceline.

I have been burning this for the past week and lets just say this isn't the best candle in the market. (Not that I have tried many to start with) In fact, I actually think that the vanilla scent is stronger after I put the fire off the candle.

Hope you guys enjoyed this Summer Sunday Haul #2. I am sure everyone loves a bargain yet awesome buy once in a while. :)

Have you been hauling much lately?
Share some of your bestbuys with me. :)

Summer Sunday Part 1: Beach, Brunch, Hauls

Hey lovelies,

How's going? Hope you guys had a great weekend! I had an awesome "getaway" from my hood and had a sleepover at Miss Wendy &Co over the weekend. But of course, with the glorious Saturday's weather, W and I couldn't miss some sun baking and brunch time @ the good ol' Bondi Beach.

Magazine, Sun, Sand, Sunnies on a Saturday = perfecto!

Lunch @ Capricco - Egg Benedict with Smoked Salmon

Being the shopaholics we are, we managed to squeeze in a quick but productive shopping sesh after lunch, before dinner.

Haul from RUBI and Cotton On
Pink Plimsole, Semi Sheer Evie Kimono, polka dot sunnies case, retro pink wayfarers and aviators, polka dot singlet and a peach singlet (which I wore the next day - OOTD pictured below).

I pretty much had my Stereosonic outfit planned here LOL. Would you be able to take a guess? ;)
(It's not hard really, just picture teeny boppers =.=")

Sunday OOTD - Peach singlet - Cotton On/ Denim Shorts - SUPRE/ Havianas Thongs/ Envelope Clutch - Sports Girl/ Aviator - Cotton On
Omelette with tomato, cheese and spinach leave with Russian Rye @ Houlihans, Chatswood
W & I had another brunch sesh to fill up our tum tum right before another retail therapy session. I gotta admit, whist retail therapy gives me the satisfaction and happiness, there's always a twinge of guilt that engulfs me whenever I think about my bank account/ CC bill. With my pretty "relax" spending the past couple of weeks, I think its time to take a step back in retail therapy until my Asia trip.

Okies, enough of random ramblings and thoughts, lets move on to more haulage from Lovely Culture, the oh-so-raved-about DAISO (all hail $2.80 Japanese products! cheap cheap) and the oh-so-evil Priceline.  :)

Usamimi headband from Lovely Culure, random Japanese beauty products from DAISO and more make up from Priceline.
(I need to stop buying beauty products in the name of blog research. =.=")

Hello Kitty Compact Pressed Powder in Ambre, Maybelline FIT ME blush/bronzer in Deep Bronze, Maybelline Color Sensational Lipstick in Coral Fever and Maybelline Illuminating Concealer in Nude
I have been wanting to check out the Priceline Hello Kitty range for quite sometime after hearing it being raved about on the blogosphere. Unfortunately, all Priceline around the city (George St, Westfield & World Square) do not stock the Hello Kitty range and I was so excited when I saw it at Chatswood.

However, I can't justify buying anymore lip products, especially after the lipsticks and lipgloss I got from last week (haul post coming up next) and another coral lippie I got above. (Yes, I am currently IN LOVE with any coral/orange shade lippies). Also, none of the nail colours really appealed to me. So, I decided to go with the Pressed Powder in Ambre instead.

Maybelline is currently having a 3 FOR 2 deal at Priceline. Don't forget to check it out if you're looking to stock up or try out their products. :)

Hello Kitty Compact Pressed Powder in Ambre and Maybelline FIT ME blush in Deep Bronze,
I first thought that Ambre was a blush but it was more of a matte bronzer. As for Deep Bronze, it actually works more as a blush (to give the sunkissed look) than a bronzer. I did try swatching but the colours aren't the most pigmented on my loot but when applied, they both work perfectly together to give the summer glow imo! Keep reading to find out more! ;)

@2.80 Japanese eyeliner
I have been looking for a new alternative to my Mineresse´ Tight Liner I absolutely adore (but its a tad on the pricey side for something I use almost daily - approx $30) and one of a "must have" criteria when it comes to eyeliner is waterproof as most often than not, I hit the gym after work and I don't usually remove my eye make up.

I decided to give these 2 waterproof eyeliners a try and will get back to you guys on how I find them. Just a little note here, I am usually doubtful in paying for overly cheap cosmetics but this is an exception as they were made in Japan and I trust Japanese' quality control. Lols.

$2.80 eyeshadow trio in brown
I know, I know. I really don't need any more neutral shades but its... only $2.80 and it seems like the perfect compact for your make up back. Don't you agree? :P

Swatches of eyeshadow trio and eyeliners.
See what I mean about Japanese and their quality control? You gotta admit, they look pretty damn good at the price of $2.80.

INGLOT E/S in DS 459 and Pearl 407
I had 2 more empty spot in my INGLOT palette I purchased during IMATS 2011 and they were having 30% off their discontinued range (the round eyeshadows) and are retailing for $5.60 after discount. HOW TO RESIST, YOU TELL ME?

DS 459 and Pearl 407
Need I say more about how awesome and great INGLOT eyeshadows are? I can definitely see myself using Pearl 407 very often during summer as an all over the lid colour! :)

DAISO Detergent for puff and sponge
This is apparently a good brush cleaner and at $2.80 per bottle, I couldn't resist but to put it in my basket for once again, "blog research". =.="

Random shitz from DAISO
More storage baskets/ paper holder - With the amount of stuff I have been hauling lately as well as stuff I already owned, I can still do with more storage stuff for organisation. :)
Disinfectant wet tissues - Hygiene purposes (Don't think anymore justification is required)
Contact lenses travelling pack - Because I was such a genius and forgotten about my contacts solutions and casing while packing for the weekend and W had to drive me around Chatty to get some contact solutions. These fits my make up bag easily and are perfect for emergency.
Socks - For gym, nuff said.

Perfect for lipstick storage - to store my impulse and crazy purchase of lip products.

FINALLY,
FOTD sneak peak - See what I mean about the sunkissed glow?
Using all the products from my haulage except for the Maybelline Illuminating Concealer.
EYES - DAISO Eyeshadow Trio in Brown
CHEEKS - Maybelline Fit Me Blush in Deep Bronze
CONTOUR - Hello Kitty Compact Pressed Powder in Ambre
LIPS - Maybelline Color Sensational Lipstick in Coral Fever

Feel free to leave a comment below if you like me to do a more detailed review. :)
Stay tune for Part II haul from 2 Sundays ago. ;)

Have you hauled anything interesting lately?
Does any of you buy stuff in the name of "blogging research" more often than you should?

SWATCHES : BOURJOIS BLUSHES AND BRONZING POWDER

This random Priceline haul was one of the many backlogged posts waiting to be caught up. However, when I saw Jade's twitter update about Priceline having 50% off  Bourjois (pronounced as bur-jur) products, I thought I'd share with you guys my purchase from Priceline a couple of weeks ago and some swatches. Hopefully, it will help you lovelies to make some decisions when deciding which items to splurge on. :)

Bourjois Bronzing Powder , Bourjois blushes and Formula 10.0.6 Down to the Pore strips

Priceline were having 20% off when I purchased this products and I thought it was a pretty good deal. Should have waited a little longer and I will be able to grab more blushes! LOL #beautyhoarder

Bourjois Bronzing Powder in 52 (the darker of the 2 shades available)

I have been wanting to try this product for quite some time after all the good reviews I read about. Quick thoughts on this product - it was less pigmented than I'd like it to be but its not too bad as a winter contouring colour as I am as pasty as Snow White now. However, this is definitely not a summer bronzer.

L-R: Bourjois Eyeshadow in 08 (used as highlighter), Rose Coup De Foudre 16, Rose Ambre 74 and Lilas D'or 33

As you can tell, these blushes aren't the most pigmented blushes you have but they are definitely buildable! :)

Eyeshadow 08 - I have been looking for a replacement for my MAC MSF in Candlelight as I can spot the obvious usage of Candlelight and the last thing I want is to hit pan with my limited edition product. I was meant to pick up the highlighter from the blush range but the Priceline in Westfield Sydney ran out of stock and the one on Market Street seems pretty old. So, I decided to go with this champagne coloured eyeshadow instead, which surprisingly works pretty well as a highlighter. Always look for options, girls. :)

Rose Coup De Foudre 16 - This reminds me of NARS Orgasm when I first swatted it albeit I am not a lucky owner of NARS Orgasm.

Rose Ambre 74 - A matte berry pink colour, which is probably the most pigmented of all three blushes. I  find myself reaching for this colour when I have heavier eye make up. Kids, make up tip 101, you don't want to look like with a party shimmer ball with epic make up and shinny cheeks.

Lilas D'or 33 - This reminds me of NARS Orgasm when I first swatted it albeit I am not a lucky owner of NARS Orgasm. To those of you who own NARS Orgasm, do you reckon this is a great dupe? Definitely my favourite out of the loot. :)

All blushes come with a mini brush, which I obviously chucked a side cos well, I prefer to use a blush brush.

I am wearing here Lilas D'or 33 :)

Loving this Combo atm :)
On my EYES - Wet and Wild Colour Icon Palette in Vanity
On my LIPS - Barry M Lipstick in 146
(After going through a phase of darker lip colour such as berry pink/plum, I am now into Bubblegum pink colour. Barry M Lipstick in 146 and BYS Longwear Lipstick in Baby Doll)

With natural light.

I hope these swatches help those of you who are having a hard time deciding which colours to choose from the range of gorgeous colours. :)

To all my Australian readers, don't forget that Priceline is having 50% off Bourjois products from 8th - 20th June. :)

Have you tried any of Bourjois blushes or bronzing powder?
Which is your favourite colour? Any recommendations?

PRICELINE HAUL - 50% OFF COVER GIRL PRODUCTS

So, while C and I were waiting for our turn at Taste of Shanghai at World Square last Friday (which happened to be a 45 minutes wait!), we decided to pop by Priceline to have "a look". Ok, I lied. Its more like me dragging C to check out the 50% Covergirl sales that was and still is going on.

I tried to place a make up shopping ban on myself but it clearly isn't working very well. But hey, it is a very rare occasion that we get 50% off drugstore products here in Sydney, so as a beauty hoarder beauty blogger, it is a good opportunity for me to try these products out and provide reviews to you readers out there. :)

My "tiny" loot:

The products I hauled are:

Cover Girl Lash Blast Mascara - Not the best I have used so far but it's something I can live with. :) But since they were on sale, why not. Such an Asian thing to do, I swear. :P

Cover Girl Smoothers Tinted Moisturiser (810 Light to Medium) - I am definitely more of a BB Cream/ tinted moisturiser than a foundation person. That explains why I decided to try their tinted moisturiser instead of foundation. Have yet to try this.

Cover Girl Smokey Shadow Blast - I wanted to try the similar eyeshadow stick by Max Factor since Bubz has used that in a few of her videos but the CG one is 1/3 of the price, so CG it is. =) I tried it yesterday and my quick thoughts on the product - the colour payoff isn't the best but it does give your eye a better definition, perfect for those who prefer subtle eyeshadow over pigmented ones.

Cover Girl Tru Conceal Concealer - I am in the phase of searching for THE perfect undereye drugstore concealer. Will let you know how this one goes.

Cover Girl Eye Enhancer in Fusion Tropicale - This palette reminds me of Xteener as she used to mention it heaps in her videos back in the days. I used them to create a Peacock Smokey look over the weekend and let's just say the eyeshadows aren't really pigmented and they get blended away easily.

Maybelline Baby Lips in Cherry and Berry - I gave the Cherry flavoured one to my sister and I have been using the Berry flavoured one since then. Absolutely loving it!!! It moisturises my lips (DuhHHH!) really well and it tastes yummy too!!!

I got all these products for under $45, which is incredibly cheap for Australian drugstore standard!

Don't forget to check out your nearest Priceline!

Covergirl products are all 50% off and Maybelline Baby Lips is Buy One Get One Free at $3.99!!!

Priceline should pay me for promoting their products. LOL. Sharing is caring - it's always to good to share when one stumbled upon good deals. :) I hope this post is in time for those of you who have been wanting to try out Covergirl products! I THINK the promotion ends on Wednesday since Priceline always has new promotions on Thursday. Don't quote me for that.

Have you tried any of the above products?
