FOTD + Sydney Winter Festival 2010

This post was meant to be posted on Friday evening, before heading out for a friend's birthday. Clearly, it was a failed attempt. The consolation is, it was a rather productive Friday - I ordered my graduation photos, like FINALLY, 3 months after graduation cos I am awesome like this; bought a few books online since I was on a make up ban (and I broke it today *FAIL*,more on that in the future post =P); sent out 1793817389137817389189 resumes, trying to get a REAL job and edited my photos, so do expect more posts coming up real soon. :D

I know I have been kinda laggy with my post, after my posting streaks early this week as I didn't have work till Wednesday. Speaking of which, I am such a genius to pick the only TWO days in the week with world cup matches. You can probably imagine what a dead duck I was on Thursday night after surviving on 4 hours of sleep + 8 hours shift for 2 consecutive days.

This is the my FOTD when I went for Sydney's Winter Festival 2010 last Sunday. I just went with a simple neutral brown look (an almost fail proof look =P) after a full-on make up the night before and I was feeling extremely tired (read: cbf-ness).

Decided to have my hair up into a messy bun ( can't really see from the photo) with shitloads of bobby pins thanks to my bob cut.

One of the main reasons I miss my long hair dearly is being able to tie my hair up on a bad hair day and still look good.

Some of the shots taken that night & food porn =P

The open performance before we were let into the ice skating rink.

Now, I can proudly say that, I.CAN.SKATE!
I know being able to skate might not be a biggie to some of you but for those who know me in person should know how uncoordinated AND clumsy I am (think of someone who manage to twist her ankle while trying to switch off her alarm and someone who knocks over her wine glass while she was trying to get up to the washroom, sober too may I add. you get the picture). Hence, being able to master the skills of skating in literally 5 minutes is a freakin' HUGE achievement for me, and all my friends were shocked and surprised. No kidding. I hope it wasn't a one off thing and I would still be able to skate the next time I go skating.

St Mary Cathedral.

After having an awesome time ice-skating, we were all starving and wanted to have some scrumptious Malaysian food at Mamak but the line was insanely long (why am I not surprised). After having 823423947283 suggestions being thrown on the table, we finally settled for Delima, an Indonesian cuisine located right at the corner of Dixon St and Liverpool St.

The food there was on the pricey side but I must say, it was worth every penny paid. And the best is yet to come :)

Clock wise from top left: Spicy Ayam Rempah, Ayam Rempah (some fried chicken thingamajig ), steamed fish and beef rendang

Clock wise from top left: Tempura prawns, Fried Rice Noodles, BBQ shrimps and BELACAN KANGKUNG ( my ALL time favourite, I don't really know the English name for it either.)

And THE HIGHLIGHT OF THE NIGHT
was:

DURIAN PANCAKES MADE FROM FRESH DURIAN FLESH!!!!

For those who doesn't enjoy the smell and taste of durian (like a few friends of mine who nearly spewed from trying this pancake) , well you're missing out in life. =P
I gotta give an 11/10 for this pancake - it is made out of FRESH DURIAN FLESH, ie actual durian and not using some durian flavouring. The moment your teeth sinks into the soft, tender and creamy durian flesh and the aroma of durian evaporates through every inch of your mouth; your taste bud is experiencing the best orgasm ever....... Ok, I shall stop here cos clearly my description skills is just atrocious... But you get how GOOD these pancakes were right?

Sorry for digressing a lil too much and turning this beauty blog into a food blog. I can't help it when it comes too food LOL, I love food as much as I love my make up. I am sure most of you are with me right? =P (Or I hope you are, so I don't seem that much of a pig LOL)

Also, just another random question (not quite beauty related but whatever),

Have any of you skied before? How do you like it?

I am really tempted to join my mates for skiing in the snow (now that I found my hidden talent - ice skating LOL) but it costs almost A$700 for 2 days, including ski passes and accommodation. I REALLY want to go to New Zealand but that's the closet I can get. But, A$700 for a noob? Really?

Till next time lovelies :D

xoxo,
A
