Review: Dermablend Cover Cream

To be honest, I have not heard of Dermanblend (let alone its cover creme foundation) despite being a frequent customer in Priceline. In fact, I will probably still be in the dark if Jojoba did not include this on top of her giveaway prizes.

DERMABLEND COVER CREAM IN NATURAL BEIGE

"Full coverage foundation for moderate to major skin flaws that delivers 12 hours of consistent colour wear. Lightweight formula glides on evenly and delivers all day hydration as well as SPF 30 sunscreen protection. Water-resistant and smudge-resistant when used with Setting Powder"

According to Jojoba from My MakeUp Review, unless a person needs super high coverage, this product is usually used as a concealer. I prefer using this as a 2 in1 foundation + concealer instead of concealer on days where I feel like my eyebags are beyond horrible or during lazy days where I couldn't be bothered applying 2 different products.

Make Up LESS photo
AFTER application

As you can see, it gives a matte flawless finish and it conceals my undereye circles well. I set it with either Maybelline Dream Matte Powder or Rimmel Stay Matte Pressed Powder.

MORE ABOUT THE PRODUCT:
The product is actually solid but can be easily melted with body heat. What I usually do is using the spatula that comes with it and scoop up a tiny bit of product (you don't need much product as it can be pretty thick) and dab it on areas that needs extra coverage and blend it outwards. It blends with your skin EXTREMELY well, giving you the flawless look. This cream gives you medium to high coverage, depending on how much you appy.  However, unlike my Etude House Magic BB Cream and my all time favourite Revlon PhotoReady foundation (which I use when I am on a night out), Dermablend Cover Creme gives a matte finish instead of dewy finish.

As much as I love this product, I don't use it everyday though as I am not one who likes heavy coverage foundation. I stick to my good old BB Cream or tinted moisturizer (which I have just started using recently).

PROS:

- Provide medium to high coverage
- Matte finish : which is suitable for people with oily skin.
- Long Lasting
- Flawless Finish

CONS:
- The Packaging : I don't like how I need to use a spatula to scoop the product out, transfer it to my finger before transferring it to my face, Too.much.effort. Who knows? Maybe its its half solid formula that makes it works so well.
- Costly: It costs AUD 54 here in Australia, which is pretty pricey to me. Granted, there's quite alot of product in the tub.

Here are a few FOTDs that I had using Dermablend :) *click on description for products listing*

FOTW - WORKING SERIES #1 : Rasberry Peach

How's everyone's weekend so far?

Sydney's weather is temperamental as always, but I am not really complaining cos I managed to pay off most of my sleeping debt incurred during the week (that's what working as an accountant do to you LOL). I fell asleep with my work clothes and make up on (one of the most deadly make up sin =.=") and my glasses on my head after I got back on Friday night and I didn't wake up till the next morning! Not to mention, I spent half of yesterday sleeping too. What a pig I am! =.=" Then, I had an awesome hotpot dinner at Shan's place, which I might of consumed a lil too much chili LOL and overdosed myself with SoyMilk! (I already had like 4 bottles of SoyMilk in the past 20 hours!)

ANYWAYS, without further ado, lets move on to the beauty part. :)

Instead of the usual FOTD post, I am gonna start doing FOTW-Working Series. I am starting to notice the pattern of my make up I wear to work. I tend to try new combination at the start of the week as I get bored of the same look after a while, albeit they revolve around neutrals and earthy colours. But, I pretty much stick to the same look throughout the week.

This is the look I have been wearing in the past week. :)

With a touch of peachy-coral colour instead of the usual brown!

On my EYES
MAC Coral Crepe Paint Pot
Sportsgirl Single Eyeshadow in Tiny Dancer (as all over the lid colour)
ELF Single Eyeshadow in Raspberry (as outer V and outer crease colour)
Light Pink from TheFaceShop Jewel Effect Duo (as highlight colour and inner crease)
Maybelline Eyestudio Lasting Drama Eyeliner in Black (Upper Lash Line)
Milani Liquif'eye Metallic Eyeliner Pencil in Black (Lower LashLine)
Maybelline Colossal Waterproof Mascara in Black
ELF Eyebrow Kit in Medium

On my FACE
Dermabland Cover Cream in Natural Beige (as foundation and concealer)
Rimmel Stay Matte Pressed Powder in Silky Beige
ELF Powder Blush in Peachy Keen
Illamasqua Powdered Metal in Ether
Milani Sunset Duo in Sunset City

On my LIPS
Misha Luminous Colour Lip Rouge in PK103
Simple & Quick Make Up for work or school! :)

FOTD - RUST for Spring

Whaddup everyone?

Hope you guys enjoyed your weekend =) It's the LONG WEEKEND here in Sydney - that means an extra day for sleeping in!!! *yays* Weather has been pretty crap (think: wet and cold. ew!) since Saturday and will probably be like that till the end of the week.  Boo! On the bright side, I managed to catch up on my very much needed rest thanks to the hectic weekends I had in the past two weeks, and an absolutely hammered Friday. Spent my Saturday catching up with a friend and did some shopping and spent all Saturday night and yesterday finishing off my Asian Drama - Summer Desire

It was actually pretty good,as the plot was something different and totally unpredictable unlike the other 48203892380234 Asian dramas and well, eye candy too LOL. How sizzling hot is Huang Xiao Ming (the main cast at the top of the poster)? =P

ANYWAYS,

This is the FOTD I had for the Nuffnang Tea Party last Sunday. =)

As we are in the middle of the spring in the land down under, coral is the colour to go!

I don't really know how's this look RUST For Spring - but it just came to my mind. So yeh... forgive the lame and gay title for this post LOL

Here are the steps on how I created the look:

STEP 1: Apply a creamy base all over your lid and I am using MAC Coral Crepe Paint Pot here. Don't forget to prime your eyes with your HG eyeshadow primer if you have oily lids.
STEP 2: Using the RUST colour from NYX Trio Eyeshadow in TS12, apply it all over your lid.
STEP 3: Then, using GOLDEN from the same NYX TS12 Trio, apply it along your crease area and the outer corner of your eyes.
STEP 4: Give your eyes a better dimension by applying WALNUT BRONZE from the same NYX TS12 Trio at the outer V of your eyes.

THEN, highlight your brow bone; fill in your brows, line your eyes, apply falsies and finish it off with a coat of your favourite mascara.

PRODUCTS I USED:
Platinum Pink from NYX Eyeshadow Trio in TS27
Maybelline Eyestudio Lasting Drama Eyeliner in Black
Loreal Volume Million Lashes in Brown
Random Japanese Falsies I got from Malaysia a while back ago
ELF Eyebrow Kit in Medium

I also lined my under lash line with Milani Liquif'eye Metallic Eye Liner Pencil in Gold to give a subtle pop.

On my FACE
Dermabland Cover Creams in Natural Beige
Rimmel Stay Matte Pressed Powder in Silky Beige
MAC MSF in Stereo Rose (In The Groove Collection)
Bronzer from Milani Sunset Duo in Sunset City (which is my FAVOURITE bronzer atm)
Illamasqua Powdered Metal in Ether (to give a dewy glow)

On my LIPS
MAC Lipstick in Jazzed (In The Groove Collection)
(Nic Nic was able to tell from the photo in my previous post! :D)

Love the combination of corals and peach tones for spring time!!! Who's with me?

My hair colour is a tad too dark for spring/summer and I am thinking of going lighter and brown for the first time! I have always gone with mahogany cos I love dark red hair!
Should I?

It actually looks like I have ombre-ed my hair with brown ends. =)

What is your favourite spring makeover?
New hairstyle? New hair colour? New nails? Let me know! :)

FOTD - Neutral Pop ft Milani Liquif'eye in Aqua

As mentioned in this post, Pixie Epoxy didn't work that well with the Fyrinnae Loose Shadows for me. I have yet to do my research on youtube but one of my readers left a comment saying I shouldn't leave it on for more than 5 seconds. I am yet to try out as I am into bold lips at the moment, hence toning down on my eyes make up.

This time, I decided to try Fyrinnae Loose Shadows with NYX Jumbo Eyeshadow Pencil as a base. I am using Cottage Cheese here along with Nijiro. I decided to gently pat the product on one eye and brush the product on another and here is the outcome:

By BRUSHING
As you can tell from the photo, the NYX Jumbo Eyeshadow Pencil didn't catch much of the products and its kinda lumpy.

By gently PATTING onto my eye lids
On the contrary, the loose eyeshadow was captured better through the patting motion. Way better in fact and there's no lumpy effect. There are more fallouts than brushing though. Albeit the colour is much more pigmented here, you can't really see the shimmer sparkle bits here.

However, it does seems pretty shimmery and bright with the completed eye look, whaddaya think?

Neutral "POP" eyes :)
Decided to add a little "flavour" to the typical earthy neutral smokey eyes by lining my lower lash line with an Aqua Blue liner.

On my EYES
NYX Jumbo Eyeshadow Pencil in Cottage Cheese (as a base for loose eye shadows)
Fyrinnae Loose Shadow in Nijiro (all over the lid colour)
EyeRockz Mineral Eyeshadow in Seductive ( outer V and crease)
NYX Jumbo Eyeshadow Pencil in Milk (highlight)
Maybelline Eyestudio Lasting Drama Gel Liner in Black
Milani Liquif'eye Metalic Eyeliner Pencil in Aqua
L'Oreal Volume Million Lashes in Brown
ELF Eyebrow Kit in Medium

On my FACE
Dermablend Cover Creams in Natural Beige (as concealer and foundation)
Physician Formula 100% Natural Origin Matte Finishing Veil in Translucent Veil
Canmake Powder Cheeks in PW25 ( A GORGEOUS coral colour blush with shimmer bits - one of my favourites at the moment! =P )

With natural light
On my LIPS
Barry M Lip Paint in 129 (aka Palest Lavender if I am not mistaken)

Had fun camwhoring cos I was having good hair day =P If only eveyday is a good hair day.

I don't usually wink for a reason - cos this is the best I can go. =.=" *FAIL much?*

How can I miss the good ol' Asian-peace-sign post? LOL

Have a great week beauties! :)

FOTD - Exotic Green Smokey Eyes

Hi lovelies!

As mentioned in my previous post, my first encounter with Fyrinnae Loose Shadows didn't end up so well. But the colours are too pretty and shinny (yes, I love glittery and shinny stuff lol) to give up - so I will probably give it another go some time this week.

This is the "fixed" version after the lil mess I created - still based on the initial look I had in mind, just using normal eye shadows instead of loose shadows.

I am loving this criss-cross lashes (Number 40) from Model 21 Lashes as they look natural and do a good job of widening my eyes and makes it look bigger. =)

On my EYES
ELF Mineral Eyeshadow Primer
NYX Jumbo Eyeshadow Pencil in Black Bean
NYX Single Eyeshadow in Exotic Green ( all over the lid colour and lower lash line - over my eyeliner)
Revlon Matte Eyeshadow in Rich Sable
NYX Single Eyeshadow in Champagne ( inner corner of my crease)
NYX Jumbo Eyeshadow Pencil in Milk ( Highlight colour)
Maybelline Eyestudio Lasting Drama Eyeliner in Black (Upper lash line)
Milani Liquif'eye Metalic Eyeliner Pencil in Black (Lower lash line)
Model 21 Lashes number 40
Max Faxtor Lash Extension Effect Extreme Lengthening Mascara in Black
ELF Eyebrow Kit in Medium

On my FACE
Dermablend Cover Cream in Natural Beige #2 (used as concealer AND foundation)
Maybelline Dream Matte Powder in Ivory Light
Milani Sunset Duos in Sunset City

On my LIPS
NYX Lipstick in Strawberry Milk
NYX Mega Shine Lip Gloss in French Kiss

This is what I had on during girls night out at Bavarian Beer Cafe last Saturday! :)

I am wearing OPI's Jade is The New Black here :)

:+:+:+:+:+:+:+:+:+:+:+:+:+:+:+:+:+:+:+:+:+:+:+:+:+:+:+:+:+:+:+:+:+:+:+:

Feast your eyes with a series of random/camwhoric photos from Saturday night =P

Toast to our friendship! :)
It's amazing how I only met these girls @ Wendy's 22nd not too long ago and we clicked straight away! Now, we are BFFs and I am even gonna be work buddy with one of them!

I don't usually drink beer but MANGO BEER is an exception :)

Lychee Beer - First time drinking beer out of a cocktail glass WITH straws.

Mussels with chips!
We had TWO of this, between the 5 of us cos we're tank like this LOL

So, I was never really a fan of mussels but the gravy/sauce they used to cook this was absolute delish
(it tasted something like asam sauce) and I demolished quite a bit of the mussels and found myself reaching for the pot every few seconds to drink the gravy. =.="

The aftermath!

The Platter Set - X 2
L-R: Chicken snitzels (which is apparently pathetic compared to Lowenbrau's serving), pork belly, SUPER YUMMY MEAT (forgive the lack of vocabulary and description here but we all have no idea what was it called - but it was the BEST of the lot in my opinion), different type of sausages and fried onion rings.

Blogging about the scrumptious food before dinner is making me even hungrier! Not exactly the best idea when I am trying to control my eating portion. =.="

Polaroid!

Asians pose FTW LOL

Alcoholic + Camwhore

Just because the I love the CANON  both S and W are using (which I obviously was oblivious towards the model =.=")..... and started camwhoring lol

FOTN :)

-My feather ring, which I absolutely adore from my ASOS haul
This is such an artistic shot, or so I would like to claim. =)

Pink iPhone and my lovely rings.

After our satisfying and sumptuous dinner has started to digest a little through the camwhoring and talking, the girls decided to order some dessert to satisfy their sugar craving while yours truly opted for another 500mL of mango beer.

W's Apple Struddles - which was probably the best of all 3.

A's Chocolate Tart

N's & S's Pina Colada Pudding.

The obligatory toilet shot with W =)

We both look like midget here lol.

PS: Most of the photos from the Girls Night Out are actually from W's and S's camera. Playing around with their cameras make me wanna get the same one too! Sigh, if only money grow on trees. IF ONLY

Sorry to flood this post with so many random photos, hope you guys enjoy browsing through them. =)

Anyways, back to beauty-related stuff, this is actually my first attempt on  a green smokey eyes look and I really like them! It went well with my nails too though that wasn't intentional!.Lol. I am not sure if you guys have noticed, but I have been trying to stem out from the usual neutral smokey eyes and try to be more creative with different colours (such as purple, blue, green.....).

Any ideas/suggestions on what colour should I try next? What is your favourite "coloured" smokey eyes look?
Let me know =)

Hi, my name is Adeline and I am a nerd.

PPS: I have gotten quite a few anonymous comment in the previous post. Don't be shy and say hi next time =)  I promise I don't bite. :P
