HOLIDAY-THEMED FOTD!

December is the month of festive or as they call it in the States- "Holidays Season". It used to be true for me when I was a student (think 4 months long summer break. Oh, how I miss you so!) But now, as part of the working world, my Christmas-New Year holidays has been cut down HEAPS to 8 days. :(

ANYWAYS, today's FOTD is kinda holiday-themed (which is kinda a tamer version of my Peacock FOTD), with my favourite colours (besides neutrals) - Coral and Maroon.

I wore this to the mini Sydney Beauty Blogger meet up with Kimmi from The Plastic Diaries, Christabel from Make Up Mole and Clare from CClareBear for high tea at The Victoria Room. That place is LOVELY, the deco and ambiance were perfect for 4 make up enthusiasts to have our beauty conversation over a scrumptious meal! Such a shame that my taste bud was failing me thanks to the nasty flu I was having. But it was a lovely meet up with the girls and I am definitely looking forward to another one next year! :)

Lenses from CircleLensAu

On my EYES
ELF Mineral Eyeshadow Primer
MAC Paint Pot in Coral Crepe
MAC Shockwave from Fafi Quad
MAC Mineralized Eyeshadow in Play on Plums (Dark Burgandy Colour)
The Faceshop Eyeshadow Duo in Pink Jewel
ELF Single Eyeshadow in Amethyst
Maybelline Eyestudio Lasting Drama Eyeliner in Black
Milani Metallic Eyeshadow Pencil in Black
Darkness Falsies (which I ABSOLUTELY love!)
Loreal One in a Million Mascara in Brown
Rimmel Eyebrow Pencil in Hazelnut

Step 1: Primed my eyes with ELF Mineral Eyeshadow Primer and MAC Paint Pot in Coral Crepe as a base eyeshadow.
Step 2: Apply Shockwave all over lid.
Step 3: Apply the Burgandy colour from Play on Plums at the outer half of my crease and outer corner of my eyes.
Step 4: Apply Amethyst at the outer V of my eyes to give the look a better dimension.
Step 5: Use the lighter pink colour from my TFS Pink Jewel Duo and blend the colour along my crease. Use it as a highlight colour under my browbone.

The final look! Poor photo quality though :(

(Forgive the worn out face. I felt so sick after I got home that day =.=")

On my FACE
Etude House Magic BB Cream
Garnier Anti Dark Circles Roll On in Light
Rimmel Hide The Blemishes Concealer in Ivory
Maybelline Dream Matte Powder in Cream
ELF Warm Powder Bronzer
ELF Powder Blush in Peachy Keen
MAC MSF in Candlelight

On my LIPS
MAC Lipstick in Jazzed

Outfit of the Day
Top: TEMT
Belt: TEMT
High waisted shorts: Glassons
Blazer: Valley Girl
Rings: EQUIP and Sports Girl
Gladiators: Some random shop in Malaysia

This would be the perfect outfit for a gorgeous summer day. Unfortunately, the weather in Sydney has been acting up lately and I just realised we haven't exactly hit 30 degrees SINCE summer started.

Just throw on a blazer and you're good to go!!! Something more "formal" compared to my shorts-singlets-thongs outfit since we were going for "high tea".

Sulking cos I was so friggin' sick on Saturday. THANK GOD I have almost recovered now, just in time for my work Christmas Party today and my long haul flight in Malaysia. SEE YOU SOON MALAYSIA AND SINGAPORE. Weeeeeee!!! :)

I would like to wish my dear readers on Through Beauty Eyes MERRY CHRISTMAS in advanced because I don't think I am gonna see you guys before then. :)
HAVE A GOOD ONE LOVELIES :)

XOXO,
A

FOTD - Play On Drum V2

Hello lovelies!!!

How was your weekend? I hope you had a more interesting one than I had.

My weekend was spent studying for my upcoming CFA exam, which I know I am going to fail anyways. I am taking Wednesday - Friday off work to study for a paper I am going to fail, which is, in my opinion, such a waste of annual leave. After spending all weekend studying, I can now say I no longer miss uni life, at least not the studying part! Unfortunately, I have 2 years of studying to go (while working full time, may I add) when I start my CA next year, Oh, the life of an accountant. All these studying and stuff is making me having thoughts about what I really wanna do in life but I shall not bore you guys any further with my quarter life crisis "drama".

As mentioned in my  FOTW - Working Series #5 : Play On Drum post, I am going to share with you guys a more "complicated" look using MAC Mineralized Eyeshadow in Play On Drum.

TBH, it isn't really that much harder, its more like the other one is much easier.

On my EYES
ELF Mineral Eyeshadow Primer
KATE gel eyeshadow in BR-1 (as base)
MAC Mineralized Eyeshadow in Play on Drum
Light Pink from TheFaceShop Jewel Effect Duo (as highlight)
Rimmel Eyebrow Pencil in Hazelnut
Maybelline Eyestudio Lasting Drama Eyeliner
Milani Liquif'eye Metallic Eyeliner Pencil in Brown
Loreal Voluminous Curved Brush Mascara in Black

I used the peachy colour as an over the lid colour and the copperish brown colour as a crease and outer V colour. I applied more product on my outer V to give the look a better dimension. :)
Also, my lid colour isn't as coral looking as my other FOTD because I used KATE Gel Eyeshadow in BR-1 (which is a champagne-copperish colour) as a base instead of MAC Coral Crepe Paint Pot.

On my FACE
Cancer Council Australia Tinted Moisturizer in Light Cream (Review coming soon! :P)
Rimmel Stay Matte Pressed Powder in Silky Beige
Garnier Anti Dark Circles Roll On in light
Maybelline Mineral Powder Naturally Luminous Blush in True Peach
Illamasqua Powdered Metal in Ether (as highlight)
Milani Sunset Duo in Sunset City (bronzer for contouring)

(This is pretty much my face routine everyday right now. I have been replacing BB Cream  with tinted moisturizer and I might use foundation on Friday if I know I am going to stay out after work. Also, Garnier Anti Dark Circles Roll seems to be able to cover my disgusting dark circles lately - just when I thought it did a pretty crap job previously)

On my LIPS
MAC Lipstick in Shy Girl

Look at the dewy finish my Illamasqua Powdered Metal gives me!! It definitely brightens up my otherwise sleepy looking face. :)

Have a great week ahead lovelies!!! :)

XOXO,
A

FOTW - WORKING SERIES #1 : Rasberry Peach

How's everyone's weekend so far?

Sydney's weather is temperamental as always, but I am not really complaining cos I managed to pay off most of my sleeping debt incurred during the week (that's what working as an accountant do to you LOL). I fell asleep with my work clothes and make up on (one of the most deadly make up sin =.=") and my glasses on my head after I got back on Friday night and I didn't wake up till the next morning! Not to mention, I spent half of yesterday sleeping too. What a pig I am! =.=" Then, I had an awesome hotpot dinner at Shan's place, which I might of consumed a lil too much chili LOL and overdosed myself with SoyMilk! (I already had like 4 bottles of SoyMilk in the past 20 hours!)

ANYWAYS, without further ado, lets move on to the beauty part. :)

Instead of the usual FOTD post, I am gonna start doing FOTW-Working Series. I am starting to notice the pattern of my make up I wear to work. I tend to try new combination at the start of the week as I get bored of the same look after a while, albeit they revolve around neutrals and earthy colours. But, I pretty much stick to the same look throughout the week.

This is the look I have been wearing in the past week. :)

With a touch of peachy-coral colour instead of the usual brown!

On my EYES
MAC Coral Crepe Paint Pot
Sportsgirl Single Eyeshadow in Tiny Dancer (as all over the lid colour)
ELF Single Eyeshadow in Raspberry (as outer V and outer crease colour)
Light Pink from TheFaceShop Jewel Effect Duo (as highlight colour and inner crease)
Maybelline Eyestudio Lasting Drama Eyeliner in Black (Upper Lash Line)
Milani Liquif'eye Metallic Eyeliner Pencil in Black (Lower LashLine)
Maybelline Colossal Waterproof Mascara in Black
ELF Eyebrow Kit in Medium

On my FACE
Dermabland Cover Cream in Natural Beige (as foundation and concealer)
Rimmel Stay Matte Pressed Powder in Silky Beige
ELF Powder Blush in Peachy Keen
Illamasqua Powdered Metal in Ether
Milani Sunset Duo in Sunset City

On my LIPS
Misha Luminous Colour Lip Rouge in PK103
Simple & Quick Make Up for work or school! :)

FOTD - Seductive Brownie ft EyeRockz

Hi lovelies,

I was 3 full size jar of mineral eyeshadows by lovely Vaun fron EyeRockz. EyeRocks is a Singapore based company that sells natural, handmade mineral eyeshadows and they are preservative free. [You can read more about EyeRockz HERE] All products are handmade only upon receiving orders - in order to ensure that their customers receive nothing but the freshest product. [To read more benefits on mineral eyeshadows, click HERE]

Eye Rockz currently has more than 60 shades of shimmer and glitter mineral eyeshadow. Needless to say, I had a hard time choosing three colours. I love my neutrals, yet I wanna step out of my comfort zone and try new colours at the same time. Decisions, decisions.

All products come in a pretty little pouch and mine was pink! *bimbotic squeak and flips hair*

These are the colours I chose - 2 neutrals and a pink.

Pinkalicious

Brownie

Seductive

Here are the swatches:
(Top to bottom - Pinkalicious, Brownie, Seductive)

WITHOUT FLASH

WITH FLASH

As you can see from the photo above, Seductive has a purple undertone. All 3 colours have tiny sprinkles in it.

:+:+:+:+:+:+:+:+:+:+:+:+:+:+:+:+:+:+:+:+:+:+:+:+:+:+:+:+:+:+:+:+:+:+:+:+:+:+:+:+:

Enough about the products, let's see how these products work on the eyes. :)

On my EYES
Etude House Shine Up Stick in Pink Beam ( as base)
EyeRockz Mineral Eyeshadow in Brownie (all over the lid colour)
EyeRockz Mineral Eyeshadow in Seductive (Outer V, crease, 3/4 of the lower lash line)
Light Pink from The Face Shop Jewel Effect Duo (highlight colour)
Maybelline Eyestudio Lasting Drama Eyeliner in Black (Upper lash line)
Revlon Colorstay Eyeliner in Black (tightline - lower lash line)
Cover Girl Lash Blast Waterproof Mascara in Black
ELF Eyebrow Kit in Medium

Here are the step-by-step photo illustrations on how to achieve the above look: *click to enlarge*

On my FACE
Etude House Magic BB Cream
Garnier Anti-Dark Circles Roll On
Physician Formula 100% Natural Origin Matte Finishing Veil in Translucent Veil
ELF Contouring Blush & Bronzing Powder

On my LIPS
Maybelline Color Sensational Lipstick in Pink Peach

Cranky Pants look =.="

Easy & Simple On-The-Go Look, which takes less than 10 minutes.

My thoughts on this product:
Packaging (5/5): The eyeshadows come taped up to prevent any spillage and it is nicely labeled at the top of each jar.  Extra brownie points for pink pouch =)
Product (4/5): Very SOFT and fine. I was surprised at how soft these eyeshadows are compared to the other pigments that I own (which are mainly from the drugstores, such as Barry M). I really like the texture of it.
Pigmentation (3/5) : Although Eye Rockz mineral eyeshadows has relatively good pigmentation, but it is definitely not the most pigmented eyeshadows I have used. It might be due to the natural ingredient used. However, the intensity is definitely build-able. ( I reckon the pigmentation would probably be better with NYX Jumbo Eyeshadow Pencils too but I have yet to try that out. Will let you guys know once I do =P)
Lasting Power (5/5): Lasted all day without creasing even though I did not use a primer. (Note: I have dry and sensitive skin, so the outcome by differ depending on your skin type)

A full size jar costs $6.50;
A sample jar costs $2.50;
A sample bag costs $2.00.

Hope these swatches, mini review and How-To photo illustrations are helpful to you. =)

Have you tried any mineral eye shadows before? How do you like it compared to normal pressed eyeshadows?

One last thing before I go,
Vaun has provided me a 10% discount promo code for my readers. =)

Just enter "ADELINEROCKZ10" into the "discount coupon" box before checkout at the shopping cart's page. A minimum purchase of $8 (Singapore customers) and $15 (International customers) is applicable.

DISCLAIMER: Products featured are provided by EyeRockz but I am not affiliated to them nor am I getting paid for this. All opinions expressed are my own.

XOXO,
A

FOTD - Pink Princess

Apart from the days where I have to attend interviews (which is major fail btw, strike rate of effing zero FML), I have been wearing alot of pink neutrals lately, instead of the usual earthy brown colours. I guess the fact that I am always in black clothes kinda contributed to this - to avoid looking so dull and boring.

This is VERY similar to Pink Amethyst - in fact I used the same colours, just swapping around lid and crease colours. :)

And also, used a different pair of falsies :)

On my EYES
MAC Coral Crepe Paintpot
Light Pink from The Face Shop Jewel Effect Duo (as all over the lid colour and inner corner of my lower lash line)
Dark Pink from The Face Shop Jewel Effect Duo ( as crease colour)
ELF Single Eyeshadow in Amethyst ( Outer V)
MAC MSF in Candlelight ( on browbone - although it looks kinda awkward in the photo for some reasons)
Dark Pink & Amethyst (to line my outer corner of my lower lash line)
Maybelline Eyestudio Lasting Drama Eyeliner in Black
Random Asian falsies
Max Factor Lash Extension Effect Extreme Lengthening Mascara
ELF Eyebrow Kit in Medium

On my FACE
Etude House Magic BB Cream
Maybelline Dream Matte Powder in Ivory Light
Etude House Lovely Cookie Blush in 03

On my LIPS
MAC Viva Glam Gaga Lipstick

Not a good photo but this is the best I got :(

LASTLY,

Guess what came in the mail yesterday??????

- Unwater-marked because it is taken using my iPhone-
MY MANUTD JERSEY!!!!!

I know this is the Season 2009/2010 kit but who cares? I like this one better than the new kit AND it costs 20pounds INCLUDING shipping!!! Tell me that's not an awesome deal!!! :) Although it only came in L.
Oh well, can't wait to wear it when the weather gets warmer, since spring is supposedly in a week's time.
(Supposedly because it has been freakin' cold in the past few days!)

Do you girls wear jersey? IF so, which club? =P

Hey lovelies!!! TGIF :) The sun is shinning high here in Sydney today, although it's still pretty cold. On the brighter side,3 more weeks till we embrace Spring with open arms! =)

:+:+:+:+:+:+:+:+:+:+:+:+:+:+:+:+:+:+:+:+:+:+:+:+:+:+:+:+:+:+:+:

Before I go, I would like to share with you guys my mini China Glaze haul from Pro Nail Supply in Bankstown. I would of gotten much more IF I was there myself. They were closed on Saturday when I went there with a friend *sadface* but she had to go there again a few days later so she managed to grab a few for me. Thanks A.:)

- Light As Air, 2Nite, Something Sweet, LOL-

Apparently the choices there are insane, and there are arrays of different nail polishes brand such as China Glaze, OPI,Essie and even Orly (if I am not mistaken).
Quote-unquote my friend, A " That place will so make you go broke" LOL

What are your favourite colours from China Glaze that you would recommend?
(I use plural because I know its almost impossible to pick only ONE colour out of all their colours lol)

Have a great weekend lovelies!!! :)

FOTD - Cotton Candy

Hey lovelies! So, I am meant to blog about my Barry M mini haul with swatches but I am so tired from work and don't think that writing reviews would be ideal with the limited vocab in my half-stoned brain. Hence, I think a picture posts with minimum words would be better and I shall keep that for the next post. =)

I named this look Cotton Candy because the pink in the inner corner reminds of cotton candy for some reasons!! Random, I know. Lol.

I reckon this look is VERY similar to my PLUM WINE FOTD -  with this FOTD emphasizing more on the pink & black.

On my EYES
ELF Mineral Eyeshadow Primer
NYX Jumbo Eyeshadow Pencil in Slate
ELF Single Eyeshadow in Amethyst (All over lid colour, on top of Slate & Outer half of lower lashline)
Barry M Dazzle Dust in 88 (On top of Amethyst)
Rimmel Matte Mono Eyeshadow in Jet Black (Outer Crease)
Light Pink from TheFaceShop Pink Jewel Eyeshadow Duo (Inner corner of upper & lower lashline)
Maybelline Eyestudio Lasting Drama Eyeliner in Black (Upper Lash Line)
Urban Decay 24/7 Eye Pencil in Zero (Lower Lash Line)
Cover Girl Lash Blast Waterproof Mascara in Black
ELF Eyebrow Kit in Medium

On my FACE
NYX Concealer in a Jar in Light
Revlon PhotoReady Foundation in Natural Beige
Maybelline Dream Matte Powder in Ivory Light
MAC Mineral Blush in Hang Loose (from the In The Groove collection)
Benefit High Beam

On my LIPS
Revlon Matte Lipstick in Nude Attitude

If it was a month ago, I would probably classify Nude Attitude as one of the things I regret buying as it looks extremely gross with my dry and cracked lips but it actually looks really good here after using Lucas Papaw Ointment(one of my July's Favourites) religiously for a month =)

Also, my ASOS package arrived today!!! Totally made my day after a crappy day at work. I was impressed by their shipping rate as I only placed my order last Thursday! Kudos to the efficiency ASOS. =P
Stay tune to find out what's inside? =P

Hope you lovelies are having a lovely week so far :)
