ASIA TRIP HAUL PART 1 - SINGAPORE :)

Hello lovelies!!

How was your weekend? Mine was awesome while it lasted and now it's back to work again! Weather was absolutely glorious for the first time all summer and yours truly managed to FINALLY got herself tanned yesterday and maybe slightly burnt. Lol. I had the usual Friday night drinks with the crew and attended Vclub (my gym) New Year - Mad Men themed party on Saturday. Will post some photos from the party once I got hold of the ones from my friend's camera. =)

What did YOU get up to during the weekend? :D

ANYHOOS,

my long awaited Singapore-Malaysia haul post is HERE alas! It has almost been a month since I got back! I will separate the stuff I got from Singapore and Malaysia as some stuff are only available in Singapore and it's too long to put them all in one post!

Did I mention how much I LOVE WATSONS Singapore? (It's equivalent to Priceline in Australia and Walmart in the States.) My sisters think I am weird for wanting to go in every Watsons I saw LOL They have SO MANY awesome Asian brands like Canmake, Skin 79, Kate, Liese, Palty, Essentials and the list goes on!

SINGAPORE HAUL

I got a couple of Essentials stuff  (and MANY other stuff lol) from WATSONS as I have heard heaps of good reviews about them in the past. And after all the heating I have done to my hair, I really should be showing my hair more TLC.

L: Essentials Anti Frizz Serum
R: Essentials Nourishing Care Lotion

I barely touched the Anti Frizz Serum as I have recently chemically straightened my hair and they are still nice and non-frizzy. I do however, apply the Nourishing Care Lotion after I wash my hair each time.

Essentials Ultra Honey & Shea Butter Hair Mask

I LOVE LOVE LOVE this product SO FREAKIN' MUCH!!! If you followed me on twitter, you would of seen the random raves I had about this product!

This is my new HG hair mask and I definitely swear by it! It leaves my hair SUPER soft and smooth after using it. I have been using it every 2 days as my ends are pretty bad at the moment. I wish I stocked up more on this hair mask!

BIORE Make Up Remover Wipes - To be honest, I reckon all make up remover wipes are pretty similar. The genius me forgotten to put in my make up remover before I left for the airport because I had shitloads of one too many drinks during my Christmas Party the day before and I really needed one. And since XiaXue raved about this product so much, I decided to give it a go!

I bought this Rimmel Lycra Pro Professional Finish Nail Polish because my Leopard Printed Nail Wrap was peeling and for those of you who don't already know, I can't stand unpainted nails. So there you go!

CANMAKE Crack Lac Nail - which created this awesome "nail art" in less than 15 minutes with just one generous layer on top of Rimmel Lycra Pro Professional Finish Nail Polish.

For full tutorial, click HERE.

I really like this Crack Lac thingamajig! I wished I have bought more colours though. :( See what I meant by Singapore's Watsons offers awesome stuff?

DUO Eyelash Adhesive - My HG eyelash glue, nuff said.

CANMAKE Cheeks Powder in PW 19 - My current favourite blush!!! :D
Have I mentioned how much I love CANMAKE products? I wished I hoarded more of them when I was there though =.="

Maybelline Volum' Express Waterproof Mascara - It's Hello Kitty and it's pink, need I say more? :D

LIESE Bubble Hair Color in Milk Tea Brown and Cassis Berry
I bought them because I have seen them around the blogosphere and I can be quite a hoarder like that LOL. I really wanna try Milk Tea Brown but my current hair colour is pretty dark and I am still abit iffy about the whole hair dye thing because the last time I dyed my hair with the most gorgeous mahogany colour, I had the worst allergic reaction. (Think: deformed face, swollen eyes and face, "burnt" scalps". Yes, it was that bad that I needed steroids.) We shall see about that...

SEPHORA is definitely the place I was most looking forward to visit, after Marina Bay Sands and Universal Studio of course. For those of you who don't already know, we don't have SEPHORA here in the land down under. =.=" Even if we do, I am pretty sure the price will be ridiculously inflated too.

I was expecting to go crazy in SEPHORA but only managed to grab 3 stuff, way below my expectation LOL.
URBAN DECAY - THE BLACK PALETTE!

I was actually debating between this one and their Limited Edition NYC Palette but there are 2 very similar colours in that palette and I doubt I will even use it and thought this Black Palette looks pretty good too, and well, not as main stream as the NYC Palette. (Although I doubt I will use this as often as my Naked Palette because it's just too pretty to be used! )

Look at how pretty these colours are! And it comes with a travel size primer and a full size Urban Decay 24/7 Glide On in Zero (which found its way back to my every-day must haves!)

SEPHORA Mineral Foundation Compact - I bought this simply because I wanted to try a "Sephora" brand make up LOL. I was on a lipstick ban (which I kinda regretted not buying now BOO!) at that time and I wasn't really looking for eyeliners or eyeshadows so yeh.

The last item I got from SEPHORA was Soap & Glory's Flake Away Body Scrub! Claire recommended me this product and I gotta say best recommendation ever because I absolutely love it!! I feel so "clean" and refreshed after using it and it smells amazing too!!! I am definitely a sucker for anything that smells good! :)

As for the BENEFIT SOME KIND-A GORGEOUS Foundation Faker, I got it from Raffles City if I wasn't mistaken. I was contemplating about it when I was in SEPHORA as I don't really need another "Foundation" (Tinted moisturizer and BB Cream are my best friends!) But yeh, clearly I gave into temptation. Lol.

That pretty much sums up the Make Up I bought from Singapore! I LOVE SINGAPORE's shopping!  I bought a couple of shoes and a bag from Charles & Keith and Steve Madden too and some other random stuff too.

Let me know if you want a detailed review of any of these products. :) Have you tried any of these products? Any favourites?

ASIA TRIP HAUL Part 2 - Malaysia is coming up soon!!! It took me ages to have this post up, so the next one is probably in the next couple of days. STAY TUNE!

XOXO,
A

JULY's FAVOURITE

Time flies ( I believe I use this phrase a lil too often but does anyone agree with me that the year of 2010 raced by so quickly or is it just me?) and its the start of August already!! That means winter is coming to an end and it's time to get ready for the grand arrival of spring! =P
Start of the month also means its time for monthly favourites :)

  • Priceline Cucumber Facial Wipe: I first tried these cucumber facial wipe when I got a Swisspers Cucumber Cleansing Wipes in my Priceline Goodie Bag a while ago. I brought it along with me when I crashed my friend's place after a long night out and I was sold immediately and made a mental note to restock the full size one the next time I visit Priceline.( I ended up buying the Priceline brand as they are 2 bucks cheaper and the ingredients they use are pretty much the same!) It works really well as a make up remover and a cleanser. I absolutely adore the Cucumber smell as it leaves my face feeling really refreshing after using them. These are perfect for nights where you're just too tired to go through your usual routine of removing make up and cleansing your face. Remember: NEVER EVER go to bed without removing your make up!
  • Barry M Lip Paint in 129: I LOVE Lilac coloured lipstick and I have been wearing it almost everyday for the first 2 weeks of the month, before I decided to switch my love to pink lipsticks lol.
  • REVLON ColorBurst Lipstick in Carnation: I got this along with Mauve and Soft Nude when Priceline was having their 3 for 2 offer a couple of weeks back. I love all 3 of them (will write up more about it later) but I find myself reaching out for this most often out of the 3 lipsticks. You see, I have different phases with my lippies (eg: nude phase, baby pink phase, rosy lips phase......) - it moved from lilac (hence the Barry M Lip Paint) to pink lips (hence Carnation)
  • Rimmel Hide The Blemishes Concealer Stick in Ivory: I bought this as an "emergency" (Read full story here) without much expectations but I have gotta say this concealer stick is one of the most value for money make up products I have ever bought. It costs less than 10 bucks, does the job of concealing my under eyes dark circles (which is the only spot I conceal), very blendable and the best thing is I don't need a brush ! Being the lazy girl I am, I try not to use brushes that requires washing after every use (anything liquid/cream form) cos I couldn't be bothered washing them everyday. Hence, this is definitely a plus point for me! =)
  • DUO Lash Glue: I have been wearing falsies more often these days thanks to Janice from ChaiGyaru.  Seeing all her pretty photos with falsies "motivates" me to reach out for my stash of falsies more often.=) And this glue is by far, the best I have used so far! Lasting power is amazing.
  • Lucas Papaw Ointment: My lips has been cracking due to the cold and dry weather here in Sydney. Cracked lips is not exactly sexy, especially when you apply lipsticks with matte formula. Many of my friends have sworn by this products and although I am not a fan of the smell (which most of my friends claimed "there isn't any smell"), it really moisturizes my lips! It does make a huge difference! I was hating Revlon Matte Lipstick in Nude Attitude at the start of this month cos it just looks SO gross on my cracked lips but when I wore it over the weekend (FOTD coming up =P), I fell in love with it all over again. (Read full review here)
  • Prestige Baked Mineral Blush in Pink: You could probably tell this is definitely my favourite blush of the month if you have been going through the products I used for my FOTDs. =) This is a gorgeous baby pink that gives me a really nice glow.Apparently, it's a dupe for MAC's Well Dressed but I can't really comment on it since I don't own Well Dressed. (Got this from my emergency haul too)

That pretty much sum up my July's Favourites.

What products do YOU love in July? Any of the ones mentioned above?

Mini Haul + FOTD

I know I am *meant to* be on a make up ban for at least a month as of last week but I was in desperate need of a good eyelash glue for the box-full of falsies that I have. The last one I bought from SASA when I was in Malaysia was piece of shit. It was extremely diluted, doesn't hold and it messes my make up in my 29472893472834 fruitless attempt to put it on. I resorted to getting some random eyelash glue from Priceline cos I couldn't find Ardell lash glue, which works alright. Pass conceded.

Living in a country where alot of make up are scarce resources (by that, I mean its hard to acquire from your local drugstore or departmental store) and are only available through the e-World, ie online shopping, I was left with no other alternatives but to purchase DUO LashGlue online, which I *conveniently* added a few other items along with that purchase.

CrushCosmetics' delivery is incredulously efficient. I made my order on Wednesday midnight, got a comfirmation email on Thursday saying the package has been sent and I woke up to my package on Friday morning. :D I absolutely hate waiting for packages. =/

It is nicely wrapped in pink with the company's label.

And, the products were nicely and carefully wrapped with 2 layers of bubble wraps, for extra protection.

I made my first purchase with CrushCosmetics a couple of months ago and that was my 88 warm colour palette which I have been raving alot about on TBE and a few of the colours were broken and there were fallouts all over the place. I took a photo and emailed it to enquire about their return/exchange policy. They said I could keep the 88 palette and they give me a refund in the form of gift cerificate (discount code to use at check out) and I received the code almost instantly. Definitely 5-stars for their customer service. :D

The VERY FEW *cough* items I bought and the Ulta3 Nail Colour was a freebie from CrushCosmetics. :)

  1. DUO Adhesive Eyelash Glue
  2. China Glaze Nail Polish For Audrey
  3. China Glaze Nail Polish For Re-Fresh Mint
  4. NYX Eyepencil sharperner (for my NYX Jumbo Eyeshadow Pencil)

In my defense, both the Eyelash Glue and Eyepencil sharperner are essentials and I have been wanting to try China Glaze Nail Polish since forever and these are the 2 colours that I fell in love when I first found out about them! Morever, I am already paying $5.45 for shipping, might as well include an extra product or two to make it more worth it, right???? *big wide grin* AND, nail polish is not really make up. LOL.

FOTD - What I wore out last night ( am too exhausted to think of a creative name =.=")

-With Flash-

On my EYES
Urban Decay Primer Potion
Alice in the Wonderland Book of Shadow Palette
  • Mad Hater (all over lid)
  • Wonderland (Inner corner of my crease)
  • Absolem (Outer half of my crease)
  • Jabberwocky (Outer V)
Maybelline Eyestudio Lasting Drama Eyeliner in Black (Upper Lashline)
RIMMEL Kajal Eyeliner Pencil in Jungle Green (Lower LashLine)
Random Asian Falsies (I used 2 pairs here to create more volume)
RIMMEL Glam Eye Lash Flirt Mascara in Black
ELF Eyebrow Kit in Medium

On my FACE
REVLON ColorStay Foundation in Natural Beige
MAYBELLINE Dream Matte Powder in Ivory Light
RIMMEL Powder Blush in Pink Rose

On my LIPS
REVLON Matte Lipsticks in Nude Attitude
NYX MegaShine Lipgloss in Frosted Beige

For once, I did not have 24823048208402 shameless camwhoric shots for one FOTD as I was running late and didn't have time to camwhore LOL.

I have heard a few people telling me that Nude Attitude is hard to pull off. The best combination I could come up with at the moment is to pair it with NYX Megashine Lipgloss in Frosted Beige. I do like the colour but it emphasizes on my dry lips, so it looks kinda gross. The Lipgloss does cover it up a little but I am still trying to figure a better way to wear it.

Do you have REVLON Matte Lipsticks in Nude Attitude? What's your favourite way of wearing it?

XOXO,
A
