Want longer lasting...............................Make up?

(Dear Sydneysiders, remember the billboard? And no, we ain't talking about sex here today. :P)

I have my fair share of events to attend in my duo life as a beauty blogger. It's great if its in the morning because I will have a fresh face of make up (although getting out of bed would have been a mission). However, most of them are usually held after work. Not that I'm complaining because its pretty sweet to wind down a busy day after work with a glass (or a few) whilst playing with new beauty products. See, I'm quite a lazy person - touching up an entire face of make up after a long day is quite a chore and I try to avoid it as much as I could.

THANK GOD after playing and trialling a million and one different products, I have came up with my long-lasting day make up and doesn't take more than 5 minutes to touch up (or 10 if I decide to slap some falsies on!) which involves cleaning up my undereye with a concealer and further intensify my eyeliner (and maybe reapply the blushes depending on the blush I'm using that day). And of course, finishing up with my trusty setting powder and apply the power lipstick of the day.

Without further ado, let's get to these products!

The main and "core" products that keep my face from melting away - also what I called the
"skeleton" products:

Face Primer: Dermalogica Age Smart Skin Perfect Primer SPF 30*
I have never really been a huge fan of face primer as I tend to have really dry skin and most of the time, I am ok with almost flawless foundation routine with my freckles still feasible. HOWEVER, my life changed when I discovered this baby! It's velvety texture glides on my face like silk to form the perfect canvas base for my foundation application. This primer is pretty pigmented with a neutral, colour correcting tint that evens out my skin tone. So, my dears, a little does go a long way here.

Foundation: Illamasqua Skin Base Foundation (#11)
Always go back to this baby if I want that flawless, porceleine finish. #11 is my perfect match for foundation and doesn't leave me looking like Snow "White".  This foundation provides full coverage with a natural matte finish (yes this is possible!) and it lasts forever!! By forever, I meant all day, all night.

However, I might take a step back on this foundation as the temperature rises as I find it a little too heavy in the warmer months. And, it's all about the freckles in summer, right?

Concealer: Borjois Healthy Mix Concealer in Apricot
If you have been reading Through Beauty Eyes, you would have known I am a HUGE fan of Benefit Fake Up concealer (especially after a night of shenanigans! I gave you some tips on how to hide your "I am so effing hungover" face HERE.). As the coverage of the Skin Base Foundation is pretty solid, I rarely find myself requiring heaving concealing. A tiny pea size of this concealer is enough to cover any remaining dark circles I have and around my nose and it blends with my Skin Base foundation pretty awesomely, just like a dream.

Setting Powder: MAC Mineralized Skin Finish (Medium)
BEST setting powder ever and I am onto my second one already. I set it after applying my foundation and concealer and set it again after my blush and contouring routine. No, I do not look like a cakeface and this is why I love MSF!

This is my "perfect" face routine at the moment as most of the time, I find myself needing to touch up my face make up by the end of the day before any night events. Not with this golden combination however. The most I would do is just to mattify my face a little with MAC Mineralized Skin Finish (if I am not too lazy, that is :P)

Eye Primer: Urban Decay Primer Potion
I don't think I need further explanation on this, do I?

Eyebrow: Face of Australia Eyebrow Kit*
Cheap cheap, create that ideal brows that last all day - what more can you ask for from an eyebrow kit? And to support your local brand!

Eyeliner: Dolly Wink Liquid Eyeliner
This has been my HG eyeliner over the past 1.5 years and I am probably on my 6th or 7th one now. Perfect felt tip that makes it easy to create that gorgeous cat winged eye and most importantly, it doesn't crease! Did I mention it has now been repackaged and the tube is pink? (Not that it's an important factor, but pink is always brownies point :P)

It is available on Sasa.Com but I usually stock mine up when I am over in Asia.

Eyeliner: Milani Liquif'eye Metallic Eyeliner in Black
Another HG Eyeliner pencil which I have been using for years and repurchased countless times. Did a detailed review and swatches almost THREE years ago HERE - yeap have been a loyal fan since then. If you are looking for an affordable, pigmented and crease prove pencil eyeliner, you might have just found the one

Mascara: Dolly Wink Volume Mascara (Purple Tube)
HG Mascara, nuff said. Just like the Dolly Wink Liquid Eyeliner, I have been going through tubes after tubes over the past 2 years. This works amazingly well on my Asian lashes and give me half decent curls that holds and volume. In fact, this puts me off falsies for the past 2 years as I am pretty damn satisfied with applying it on its own, until I discovered Katy Perry's KAPOW falsies of course.

As for my eyes, I go with either the neutral taupe/gold smokey eyes (when I am wearing bright, bold lippies) or purple-grey smokey eyes (for days when I prefer the subtle lip colours over loud ones)

Neutral taupe/ gold smokey eyes

Creme Eyeshadow: Maybelline Color Tattoo in Bad To The Bronze & Bold Gold
I LOVE these little pot of awesomeness - works well on its own for a quick over the lid colour or perfect as a base to hold your eyeshadow even better. This + UDPP = killer combination to ensure your eyeshadow stays!

Eyeshadow: INGLOT Freedom Palette (AMC Shine #34, Matte 378 & Pearl 422
After rediscovering my INGLOT palette which I conveniently ignored not long after purchasing them two years ago, I was reminded how great these eyeshadows are! Super pigmented and vibrant, minimum fall outs and doesn't crease! No touch up needed at all when I use them!

Purple-grey smokey eyes

Creme Eyeshadow: Chanel Illusion D'Ombre in Illusoire
This is my favourite purple-grey-ish (forgive me for the lack of better word) colour and like the Maybelline Color Tattoo, it works perfectly well as a base or on its own. Except, this costs you a few extra plates of dumprings money. :P

Eyeshadow: Smashbox Girls On Film Softbox Eyeshadow Palette*
(reviewed and swatched HERE)
I am usually good to go with Minx + Sienna but on days that I felt like a heavier look, I would add a matte black/ burgundy shadow to further intensify the smokey look. Easy peasy.

Katy Perry X One Direction Fragrance
Lashes: Katy Perry KAPOW lashes* (Massive rave about it HERE
As seen in my recent post, I am a HUGE fan of this natural - looking lashes with a hint of purple tone and have been rocking them at every launches I went and Friday night drinks. ABSOLUTE DARLING!

A fresh look at 8amin the morning!

This is how it looks at 11pm - as you can see apart from a slight smudging at my lower eyes, the rest of my make up is still pretty intact! All I did was touch up my blush, apply falsies, mattify my face with MAC MSF and apply a bright lip colour!

And the eye make up is almost as fresh as 7am in the morning!

You can check out my FAV lip products for a night out/ events HERE

I hope you enjoyed this post on my long- lasting make up "secrets".

What are you favourite long lasting products?
OR any secret tips?

QUICKIE FRIDAY FAVOURITES: CONTOURING PRODUCTS (QUICK REVIEW + SWATCHES)

"Its Friday, Friday, Friday...."

And it's time for some Friday Favourites again. Now that it's summertime in the land down under - its all about the minimal makeup, sun kissed look! I shared with you my current spring/ summer fav lippies two weeks ago #badblogger. This week it's about my favourite "colouring" products. By colouring, I really meant contouring =P

Arbonne Bronzer, A$46* - I think I might have just discovered my favourite bronzer! Matte finish without giving you that dirty "greyish" undertone = #winning! Also, its moderately pigmented - which translates to you don't have to risk looking like someone who has just dunk her face into a bowl of orange powder. Just a few swirl with a large fluffy blush around the temple of your forehead, under your cheeckbones and your jaws (also known as the "3" zone) and voila - sunkissed finish! :) This has been my daily contouring bronzer since well, I got it from the lovely girls from Brand New Solutions and it’s safe to say I will definitely repurchase once it hits pan!

ELF Mineral Blush in Candid Coral, US$3Natural flush, pigmented, easily blendable, cheap, this baby here ticked the box for all of the above. Looking for something more subtle and give you the summer glow? This blush is your answer! This is my fail proof everyday blush and has been making frequent appearance ever since the land down under was greeted with spring.
WITH FLASH (L - R): Australis Highlighter, Benefit High Beam, Benefit Cha Cha Tint, Benefit CORALista, Bobbi Brown Bronze Shimmer Brick, ELF Candid Coral, Arbonne Blush in Blossom, Arbonne Bronzer

Bobbi Brown Bronze shimmer brick, A$85 - This is my to-go-to "blush" for my cheekbones when I want a really bronzy, sunkissed look with a glowy finish to complement either my bold eyes or bright lips (usually the latter)! Do keep in mind though, as the name is pretty self-explanatory, please keep the shimmer on your eyes to the bare minimum as the last thing you want is to look like a shiny disco ball. Unless, that's what you fancy.... If that's the case, go for it. :P The only downside is, it’s probably costs you a week’s worth of lunch to “invest” in this brick. #damnyouAustralianretailprice

Arbonne Blush in Blossom, A$40* - It reminds me of NARS Orgasm when I first received it (although I don't own Orgasm myself) - tell me if you agree? Blossom is a gorgeous coral blush with gold shimmer bits - the perfect blush to "wake you up" and give your look some colour. This blush is usually seen on my lazy days when I am a tad couldn't be bothered with my eye make up! The formula is super pigmented and very blendable. Like any good blushes, a little go a long way..

NATURAL LIGHT (L - R): Australis Highlighter, Benefit High Beam, Benefit Cha Cha Tint, Benefit CORALista, Bobbi Brown Bronze Shimmer Brick, ELF Candid Coral, Arbonne Blush in Blossom, Arbonne Bronzer

Benefit Go Tropicoral, A$59* – Your everyday carry-on beauty kit for instant beauty. No, you do not get a prize for guessing which colour family did I choose when I was given a chance to trial one of Benefit’s lip and cheeks kits (Including Sugarlicious and Feelin’ Dandy).  This compact but handy kit consists of a 4mL Cha Cha Tint, 4mL High Beam highlighter, 3g CORALista face powder & 6.5mL Ultra Plush CORALista lipgloss – perfect for touch ups and takes you from beach day to drinks at the bar. Blend away with a pea size of Cha Cha Tint on the apple of your cheeks; High Beam highlighter on your cheekbones/ undereyes and your nose bridge; and finally a sweep of CORALista lipgloss and you are ready for the beach! Ready to move on from the beach to the nearby pub? You can add on some CORALista face powder on top of your cha cha tint and instead of using the CORALista lipgloss on its own, you might want to apply some ChaCha Tint under the lipgloss for a more intensify lip colour for the night. My favourites from the kit are non-other than the famous Cha Cha Tint and High beam highlighter! :)

Australis Highlighter in Pearl, A$14.95* – Australis claims that it contains skin illuminators to reflect light, leaving your skin looking forever fresh, radiant and glowing. I couldn’t agree more with it! This has become a new favourite of mine – half a pea size is sufficient to brighten up your otherwise dull and “dead” morning face, giving you a glowy finish!  If you do not have the habit to highlight your face, you should probably start now. Trust me, it really makes a difference in “waking you up”.

That pretty sums up my current favourite summer products - there are actually more to the list now that I have started trying a few new products. But, I shall keep that for the future!

Have you tried any of the above products? What are your favourite contouring products?
Can you guess which one did I wear to work and what will I be wearing?

NEXT UP - stay tune for my last minute shopping gift guides :)

FRIDAY FAVOURITES: LIPPIES (QUICK REVIEW + SWATCHES)

Happy Friday lovelies!

Feeling absolutely jolly and chirpy as I'm writing this - Sydney is at its best, showing off its warmth; it's FRIDAY (Friday FRIDAY!); life is a whole lot better compared to the first three quarter of 2012; just demolished my daily dose of small strong latte, about to get myself a grilled chilli prawn pizza LOL and just simply because its SUNNY FRIDAY! (Now, to assess whether hitting Bondi Beach is feasible during lunchtime =P)

At days like this, I am usually spotted with a bright coral/ orange lippies to match the mood. On a moody day, I can be seen with bright fuchsia or a cooler toned pink with lavender undertone lippie. On days that I feel a tad under the weather or having some self-doubts (you know, one of those days), I turn to my faithful red lippies for some confidence booster!

(Did I just write a paragraph on the relationship between my mood and my lippie of choice?)Yes ladies (and gents), this is totes, like, legit.

Just thought I'd share with you the lippies that have contributed to my right biceps (read: lippies that I carry in my bag with me) and are currently on high rotation:

(Please note: These are my current favs in no particular order. As mentioned earlier, it's highly dependent on yours truly mood at time of selection).

REVLON Lip Butter in Trutti Fruti: PERFECT everyday, to-go-to corange (coral + orange) lippie - it's moisturising, pigmented (for a "lip butter" standard), long lasting and not too OTT. If you have always wanted to try orange lips but feel that it's a tad too much, this is a great product to start with! (You can vouch me for that =P)

Wet & Wild Lipstick in 907C – This baby is a scarced resource in the land down under – I was lucky enough to try this lippie thanks to my lovely twitter-pal, Gwen who kindly included in my love package a couple of months ago . I am never a firm believer of love at first sight, except when lipsticks are involved. And this is a prime example. This is a cool toned, bubblegum pink colour *squeals* with matte but non-drying formula, smooth, long lasting, pigmented… what more can you ask for? I can definitely see more wearage out of this in the cooler months.

Without Flash
L-R: Revlon Trutti Fruitti, WnW 907C, Australis Make A Wish, Rimmel by Kate #20, Shu Uemura Parisienne Pink, Australis Fandango, Sisley Rouge.

Australis Colour Inject Mineral Lipstick in Make A Wish (Limited Edition) - This could be a tad too much for work, but it is one of my top lippies and it's usually spotted after hours - be it an event or after work drinks! Pigmentation - superb; lasting-power - amazing; best part is its super affordable! Priced at $12.95 a pop (you can get it at a cheaper price during specials) - pretty on the lips, easy on the purse! (For Australian standard, that is). I have already bought a backup for this lippie, seeing that it’s a LE collection. #Hoarder

Rimmel Lasting Finish By Kate Lipstick in #20 and #22 (not pictured)* - If you haven't tried the lippies from this range, WHAT ARE YOU WAITING FOR?!? If I gotta pick ONE fav drugstore brand (please don't make me do that, it's a very hard decision to make), this range will probably get the title. Buttery smooth texture, extremely pigmented, long- lasting, sleek packaging, has a natural rose scent (not the usual yucky plastic lipstick scent!) and incredulously affordable for a product of such quality! #20 is my favourite fuchsia shade - and also my instant "glam-me-up" product that takes me from work to an event! #22 is a siren red whenever I need an instant pick-me-up to feel like a Wonder Woman.

Shu Uemura Rouge Unlimited Lipstick in Parisienne Pink from Karl Lagerfield X Shu Uemura collaboration* – Isn't the packaging SUPER ADORBS with the kawaii Monshu Girl? Parisienne Pink is very toned down in comparison with the other lipsticks of choice - more of a lip balm texture, sheer and extremely moisturising! I find myself reaching out to Monshu Girl on days where my lip requires some immediate TLC or when I'm having bolder smokey eyes!

With Flash
L-R: Revlon Trutti Fruitti, WnW 907C, Australis Make A Wish, Rimmel by Kate #20, Shu Uemura Parisienne Pink, Australis Fandango, Sisley Rouge.

Australis Colour Inject Mineral Lipgloss in Fandango* – This is probably a cheaper “dupe” for SISLEY Phyto Lip Gloss in 6 Rouge - but a tad brighter. As mentioned earlier, I am not usually a fan of lipgloss. However, Fandango looks absolutely amazing when layered on top of Make A Wish to give a plumper effect – perfecto for a weekend night out. Did I mention, it actually tastes quite yummy too? #DontJudgeMe

SISLEY Phyto Lip Gloss in 6 Rouge* - The hybrid between a lipstick and lipgloss. Rouge has the texture of a gloss (thicker than a lipstain) but with amazing pigmentation and it lasts longer than a lipgloss! I opt for this precious over Australis Make A Wish when my lips are exceptionally dry (which happens a lot over the past few weeks!) and I am in the mood for bright co-range lips. This is a fantastic product for the fans of lipgloss, looking for something more pigmented. However, for yours truly, lipgloss formula has never really been on my favourite list! Lipgloss, long hair, wind... you get the picture. This stays in my make up pouch to save me during my “dryer” days. LOL

As you can see, I'm definitely no brand snob here. If you are, you should definitely give these drugstore products a go, you'd be surprised! Same amount spent, you get more products or you could use the change to grab yourself a glass of bubbles. =P

Have you tried any of the above lipsticks? What are your favourites?
Can you guess which one did I wear to work and what will I be wearing?

JULY's FAVOURITE

Time flies ( I believe I use this phrase a lil too often but does anyone agree with me that the year of 2010 raced by so quickly or is it just me?) and its the start of August already!! That means winter is coming to an end and it's time to get ready for the grand arrival of spring! =P
Start of the month also means its time for monthly favourites :)

  • Priceline Cucumber Facial Wipe: I first tried these cucumber facial wipe when I got a Swisspers Cucumber Cleansing Wipes in my Priceline Goodie Bag a while ago. I brought it along with me when I crashed my friend's place after a long night out and I was sold immediately and made a mental note to restock the full size one the next time I visit Priceline.( I ended up buying the Priceline brand as they are 2 bucks cheaper and the ingredients they use are pretty much the same!) It works really well as a make up remover and a cleanser. I absolutely adore the Cucumber smell as it leaves my face feeling really refreshing after using them. These are perfect for nights where you're just too tired to go through your usual routine of removing make up and cleansing your face. Remember: NEVER EVER go to bed without removing your make up!
  • Barry M Lip Paint in 129: I LOVE Lilac coloured lipstick and I have been wearing it almost everyday for the first 2 weeks of the month, before I decided to switch my love to pink lipsticks lol.
  • REVLON ColorBurst Lipstick in Carnation: I got this along with Mauve and Soft Nude when Priceline was having their 3 for 2 offer a couple of weeks back. I love all 3 of them (will write up more about it later) but I find myself reaching out for this most often out of the 3 lipsticks. You see, I have different phases with my lippies (eg: nude phase, baby pink phase, rosy lips phase......) - it moved from lilac (hence the Barry M Lip Paint) to pink lips (hence Carnation)
  • Rimmel Hide The Blemishes Concealer Stick in Ivory: I bought this as an "emergency" (Read full story here) without much expectations but I have gotta say this concealer stick is one of the most value for money make up products I have ever bought. It costs less than 10 bucks, does the job of concealing my under eyes dark circles (which is the only spot I conceal), very blendable and the best thing is I don't need a brush ! Being the lazy girl I am, I try not to use brushes that requires washing after every use (anything liquid/cream form) cos I couldn't be bothered washing them everyday. Hence, this is definitely a plus point for me! =)
  • DUO Lash Glue: I have been wearing falsies more often these days thanks to Janice from ChaiGyaru.  Seeing all her pretty photos with falsies "motivates" me to reach out for my stash of falsies more often.=) And this glue is by far, the best I have used so far! Lasting power is amazing.
  • Lucas Papaw Ointment: My lips has been cracking due to the cold and dry weather here in Sydney. Cracked lips is not exactly sexy, especially when you apply lipsticks with matte formula. Many of my friends have sworn by this products and although I am not a fan of the smell (which most of my friends claimed "there isn't any smell"), it really moisturizes my lips! It does make a huge difference! I was hating Revlon Matte Lipstick in Nude Attitude at the start of this month cos it just looks SO gross on my cracked lips but when I wore it over the weekend (FOTD coming up =P), I fell in love with it all over again. (Read full review here)
  • Prestige Baked Mineral Blush in Pink: You could probably tell this is definitely my favourite blush of the month if you have been going through the products I used for my FOTDs. =) This is a gorgeous baby pink that gives me a really nice glow.Apparently, it's a dupe for MAC's Well Dressed but I can't really comment on it since I don't own Well Dressed. (Got this from my emergency haul too)

That pretty much sum up my July's Favourites.

What products do YOU love in July? Any of the ones mentioned above?

XOXO,
A

JUNE FAVOURITES :)

  • CETAPHIL MOISTURISING LOTION - This product was featured in my May Favourites too. With the insanely cold weather in Sydney, a good moisturing lotion is a must have for someone like me with extremely dry skin. Ever since I started using this product, my skin is much more moisturised and my cheeks and nose bridge area is no longer flaky and stings when I wash my face. It doesn't make me feel like I have dipped my face into a pool of oil too, like how I felt with my lanolin cream. Cetaphil does the job and best part is, its inexpensive! I bought the 250mL bottle for approximately A$13.
  • KIEHL'S CREAMY EYE TREATMENT WITH AVOCADO - I have heard a lot of good stuff about this products and finally got my hands on it after all the countless, futile attempts to get rid of my flaky eyelids, which once again caused by the cold weather and constant exposure to heater. As the name suggests, the formula is really creamy and you only need a little bit of the product each time. There's a sting-y sensation when I apply them (due to dryness) but it moisturizes my eyelids really quickly. My night treatment consists of this eye cream and Cetaphil Moisturising Lotion and I haven't had any problems so far. :)
  • ETUDE HOUSE MAGIC BB CREAM - I have been using this product forever but not only till recently that I actually like it, hence I decide to include it in this month's favourite. Before that, it was more of " I have to use it since I have 2 of these" rather than liking the product. This BB Cream is perfect for everyday use as I don't like caking on foundation on a daily basis. It provides sheer to medium coverage but good enough to even my skin tone and cover up my redness. I know some people find this BB cream a tad too oily but personally, it suits my dry skin well.
  • CHINA GLAZE NAIL POLISH IN FOR AUDREY & REFRESH MINT - Absolutely love them! I have been switching between these 2 colours in the past one month. Enough said =P
  • NYX SINGLE EYESHADOW IN CHAMPAGNE & ELF SINGLE EYESHADOW IN RASPBERRY TRUFFLES - This is the combination I use on my lazy-days when I couldn't be bothered with eye make up. They are both inexpensive, pigmented and colour pay off is great too. Perfect for your daily on-the-go-smokey look.
  • REVLON MATTE LIPSTICK IN PINK POUT - I have been wearing this a lot, compared to Soft Nude. It's a really gorgeous baby pink colour, which goes well with almost any look. As it is matter formula, it can be a little too dry on my lips sometimes. What I do is, either wear it over a layer of Lucas Papaw Ointment or wear a layer of gloss over the lipstick. Swatches of this lipstick can be found here.
  • CHI CHI MOSAIC BRONZER IN DARK - I was lucky enough to score myself this bronzer when Gloss Cosmetics was giving out 10 samples to their readers. :) It was sitting at the corner of my vanity corner for quite a while before I discovered its awesomeness. I swirled my powder brush to blend all the different shades of bronzer together to create the perfect bronzer for my current skin tone. My Sports Girl bronzer is a tad too dark for winter. I have been reaching out for this baby a lot lately for contouring. :)

As you can see, there are quite a fair bit of products this month. =P

Have you tried any of these products and do you like them? What are your June Favourites?

MAY FAVOURITES :)

Hey lovlies,

What's crackin'? Partying hard this weekend or is it gonna be a quiet one? Whatever it is, hope you guys are enjoying the weekend. :)My May favourites is finally here, sorry it took so long and we're already 1 week in to May. Have I mentioned how fast time flies?

  • MAC CORAL CREPE PAINT POT ( Prep - A - Papier Collection) : It was love at first sight but it took me a while to finally purchase it. Reason being, I love my neutral browns and as much I love coral, its not something I'd wear on a daily basis. However, I was sold when the make up artist told me she used it as a blush and I love the natural flush created using this paint pot. Oh, and the fact that it is Limited Edition too. :) I have created quite a few looks using this, although they are pretty similar to one another. *check it out HERE*
  • AUSTRALIS MOISTURE INTENSE LIPSTICK IN CANDY : One of my best purchases EVER. I bought it because it was on sale for $2.99 and how often do you get a lipstick for $2.99 in Australia? Absolutely adore how moiturizing the formula is and it tastes like candy too! For those who have been reading my blog for quite a while knows I have this thing against lipstick with "funky" smell, so taste good = extra brownie points for Adeline. :D Most importantly, it is a gorgeous fushia colour, which gives a very feminine touch to the entire look. *Swatches HERE*
  • REVLON COLORSTAY EYELINER IN BLACK: I got this as a free gift along with my PhotoReady foundation purchase during my Priceline haul. And this is by far, the most pigment pencil liner I have used ever since I started using make up. No kidding. And it doesn't smudge after I set it with powder
  • RIMMEL POWDER BLUSH IN PINK ROSE: I have seen many positive reviews about this blush around Youtube or the blogosphere. Its one of those cheap and awesome products that makes the Asian in me happy.I got it for less than A$5 when K-Mart was having $4 off the entire Rimmel Range. It is a pretty soft pink colour that gives a nice flush to my face. The colour is very blendable and pigmented too. Oh, and its extremely small, that means it fits into your make up bag perfectly :D
  • ELF BLUSH IN PEACHY KEEN: 2 blush products in May favourites? It doesn't take a genius to figure I am liking my blushes. :D This is more of a coral blush, with a slight shimmer in it. It gives my face a healthy glow whenever I apply them. I usually use this when I have heavy eye make up on as I don't wanna look like a party clown with epic eyemake up and rosy red cheecks. Not attractive.
  • CETAPHIL MOISTURISING LOTION: I have been searching for THE perfect moisturiser and this is by far, the best I can find. I know I have sworn by Lanolin Cream asmy winter staples but I stopped using them cos I really dislike going to bed with an oily face (after slapping on like 3 layers cos my skin is that dry). I don't seem to have the problem with Cetaphil and it does the job in the moisturising department, so yeh my current favourite moisturiser. :)
  • MAYBELLINE DREAM MATTE POWDER IN IVORY LIGHT: I use this to set my BB cream & my eyeliner (as it ALWAYS creases on my waterline when my skin is not even oily. Any ideas why is it so?) and I like how it doesn't dry my skin outand it mattifies the "shine" from the moisturizer I pack on before applying make up, giving me a flawless finish.

Do you like any of this products? What are your May favourites?

April's Favourites

Monthly favourites is probably something I enjoy reading/watching on YT the most after haul posts/videos. As much damage as it does to my bank account, month favourites posts/videos can be pretty helpful when it comes to making the decision to purchase something. It is always good to do a lil more research and read a couple more reviews before swapping your credit card. So, I will start posting my monthly favourites, starting from April onwards. =)

VIVA GLAM GAGA
I am a huge fan of barbie pink lipstick, nuf said. =) And for those who aren't aware of the Viva Glam range, 100% of the proceeds go to the HIV fund. So, you're doing charity while purchasing your favourite lipstick. *double win*

88 Warm Colour Palette
For someone who loves neutral, earthy colour, this is THE perfect palette to create 723482934729347293472934723947 looks. I have blogged about why I love this palette here *click to find out :D*.

REVLON Nail Enamel in Midnight Affair 791
I was never really a blue person but I fell in love with this nail polish the moment I saw it in my Priceline goodie bag. Its this REALLY GORGEOUS metalic dark blue colour (oh how descriptive) and I just love it.

NOTD
Just in case you're wondering, the photo in the middle has bits of shimmers on it because I used a glittery top coat instead of the usual transparent one. I think I still prefer the good ol' plain Jane. What about you?

Etude House Lovely Cookie Blush in 03
My on-the-go blush. As you can see, it is a really pretty peach colour with little shimmer bits in it and it gives a really natural glow when you apply them.

Maybelline Color Sensational Lipstick in Pink Please
I believe this is on of the "hot stuff" in the beauty world and I am not surprised at all. The colour is really sweet, inexpensive and it comes with a really nice vanilla smell (for those who don't know, I really dislike any cosmetic products with "funky smell".) It has been staying in my make up pouch for 2 weeks now, that is definitely a strong evidence of how much I love it.

Lucas Papaw Ointment
As I mentioned in my Winter Staples post, this is the holy grail of winter, especially for someone with extremely dry skin like me. I use it as a lip balm most of the time but I do apply it on my eyelids as well as around my nose area when they get too dry. As gross as it may sound, it actually works.

LUSH's Snow Fairy
This is one of the first LUSH products I have tried and I got this from a giveaway I won. FELL IN LOVE with it instantly! It smells like cotton candy, I kid you not! Unfortunately, it is Limited Edition and this is the 250mL bottle. So, I have gotta use it only on special occasions (though I have been using it quite frequently ever since I go them). I have just purchased a new shower gel from LUSH today (which I will reveal in the next haul post. Stay tune =P) so that I am able to "preserve" this little gem here.

Maybelline Magnum Volum Express Mascara
I wanted to get the Colossal one and I did not realise the one I got wasn't Colossal after using it for about 2 months. =.=" Epic fail. Both of the packaging look exactly the same, that's probably why I got mixed up in the first place. Anyways, enough of digression.

This one does a really good job in terms of volumising, but not so much on the length. So, what I do sometimes when I felt like longer lashes is - add another extra coat of Mascara and I am using Rimmel's Glam Eyes Lash Flirt (which is a pretty good lengthening mascara imo)

That's pretty much it for my April's favourites. What are yours? Comment and let me know :)

xoxo,
A
